Ceria is the opposite of the refined image of half-Elves held by most people. She's a lazy glutton with bad table manners and a distinct lack of dignity or refinement. Ceria is not a social person - while she has friends, she does not make more easily, having grown up mostly alone.<ref name="3.09" /> This can be attributed in part to her near-immortality, as the people around her change and die while she stays the same. This also causes her to feel old and young at once.<ref name="2.32H" /> She can be surprisingly resolute in a task, evident when she was able to melt Illphres's ice by rubbing it with a bag of salt all night. She is very upfront and doesn't hide who she is. Similar to most adventurers, she possesses a reckless side.

She’d spent ten years dealing with the worst of hormonal imbalances, uncontrolled magical outbursts and the like.<ref name="2.32H" /> When she was still a child, her grandmother died. After nobody in the village had realized that she had died for five months, Ceria became disillusioned with half-elf society, burned down her house, and left.<ref name=":2">[[Chapter 8.58 PFH]]</ref> Not knowing how to properly fend for herself Ceria was forced to steal and scrounge for food, almost starving on multiple occasions and developing a taste for insects. When she was 58 years old (seven years ago) and still a Bronze-rank adventurer, she started attending [[Wistram Academy]] together with [[Pisces]]. While the two were initially friends, their relationship would sour after she and all of Wistram found out that he was a [Necromancer]. She became the apprentice of a [Cryomancer], [[Illphres]], however, Illphres would later be killed attempting Zelkyr's test of battling [[Cognita]] and four other powerful golems. Subsequently, after Pisces inadvertently unleashed undead in the school after breaking into Archmage [[Nekhret|Nekhret']]<nowiki/>s tomb, Ceria defended Pisces in a trial, which led the two to be expelled from Wistram. Ceria enters the Wandering Inn storyline as a member of the [[Horns of Hammerad]]. She is one of the more experienced members, but refuses to be vice-captain because she doesn't like the logistical work. That is the reason why [[Calruz]] has [[Gerial]] in that position.<ref name="1.40" /> She was very helpful towards [[Ryoka]]<ref name="1.04 R" /> after the runner saved her team from a lich. Ceria helped the city runner to explore her innate magic<ref>[[Chapter 1.34 (Archived)]]</ref> until Ryoka challenged Calruz and punched Ceria in a fit of rage. Then, Ceria turned away from Ryoka with a stern warning.<ref>[[Chapter 1.12 R (Archived)]]</ref> Later, Ceria and the other Horns managed to get rooms at [[The Wandering Inn]] as Erin's first real guests while they prepared to enter the Ruins of Liscor.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/01/18/1-36/ Chapter 1.36 (Archived)]</ref> Ceria and the other Horns did get caught up in other issues during their time at the inn before the ruins, though. Eventually, Ceria, her team, and a [[Silver Spears|few]] [[Circle of Reneë|others]] had all of their preparations finished and they ventured into the Ruins of Liscor. Their preparations were not enough to handle the dungeon, though. Days after those above-ground had finished dealing with [[Skinner's Attack on Liscor|Skinner's Attack]], Erin, Ryoka, and Pisces went back down into the ruins to look for survivors after Pisces received a faint message. They eventually found Ceria and [[Olesm Swifttail|Olesm]] hiding inside of stone coffins and starving.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/03/22/2-04/ Chapter 2.03]</ref> Once she was recovered enough to move, Ceria was brought back out to the entrance of the ruins where [[Liscor's City Watch|Liscor's guards]] were getting ready to storm the ruins themselves. At the entrance though, Gazi revealed herself to capture Ryoka and Erin for her [[Flos Reimarch|king]]. Gazi was not hesitant about attacking others in the process though. She stabbed [[Zevara Sunderscale|Zevara]] and was on the verge of killing a downed Ceria when Erin poked Gazi's eye out and the name-ranked adventurer fled.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/03/28/2-06/ Chapter 2.05]</ref> Ceria survived, but in the end she had to deal with the consequences of releasing Skinner. Her team was dead, her hand atrophied, and she was not able to keep any of the loot since it was all taken by the city to pay for the attack. She had also dropped all of her gear and other loot while running from the undead. Seeing this, Erin offered her a place to stay in her inn.<ref name=":3" /> This stay didn't last too long as soon the inn was blown up. Ceria consoled Erin and helped to build the new one. Ceria continued to recover and help Erin with her shenanigans in the inn. She met one of the only other remaining survivors of the attack on the Ruins of Liscor, [[Yvlon Byres|Yvlon]]. The story picked back up with the Horns eight days later. They were not nearly as successful as they would have hoped, were running out of funds, and were all getting very annoyed. Ceria tried to be diplomatic, but the group was at their wits ends given their poor results and less than stellar living conditions for the past week. After some deliberation, Ceria agreed to use Pisces' undead to help dig for secret rooms in the ruins. This tequnique was quickly successful as Pisces' skeletons hit a trap that revealed a previously undiscovered mage's quarters. The group had to deal with more traps and crelers in the coming hours, but they were able to make it through relatively safely. That is until they reached a door. They tried to circumvent the traps there, but failed when the door teleported them into a pit filled with bones and walls covered with [Insanity] runes.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/08/08/3-02-h/ Chapter 3.02 H]</ref> Ceria's insanity involved memories of her grandmother telling her about half-elves. She woke up and went back into insanity repeatedly as the rune drew her eye. Luckily, Ksmvr had some resistance to [Insanity] due to his antinium nature. He was able to take a strip of Ceria's pants and tie it around her eyes to stop her from seeing the rune when she woke. Despite interference from the other two insane members, Ksmvr was further able to direct Ceria to where the rune was, so she could cover it. The others came back to reality eventually and they managed to dig their way back out using the bones to make more skeletons. They came out near the door and chipped out the stone around it to find the treasure they had been looking for on the other side. This treasure room was guarded by a flaming construct that self destructed once it realized that the adventurers were here to take the treasure and would destroy it to do so. Ceria and her group managed to run back down to the pit before they were burnt alive, and Pisces summoned more skeletons to try and salvage some of the gear before it all burned.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/08/26/3-07-h/ Chapter 3.07 H]</ref> Despite the attempts by the golem, the team was left with a good amount of loot. The gold and gems had all melted together and there were other magical items that had survived like a magical bag, a cracked shield, and a burnt magical sword. Instead they made it to [[Ocre]] and after fending off some concerned guards and civilians, made it to the local adventurer's guild. They even came out the next day to adulation at the successful adventurers.<ref name="3.08 H" />

A lot of the gold would be going to the family of those that died in the Ruins of Liscor and some more to pay back Erin. Ryoka returns with one item sold for considerable magical gear that should bring the reformed Horns to ''Gold Rank''. However, the adventuring guilds require proof that the Horns are at Gold level. They do several more quests mostly around Liscor and Esthelm, but the group stagnates somewhat and is regularly outdone by the Gold Rank teams which frequent the Wandering Inn.

Ceria was captured during the Raskghar attacks, and spent several days as their captive, attempting to subvert them to little success. At the time of the final assault on the Raskghar camp, she was able to convince Calruz to join her in fighting against his acquired tribe of monsters once it is clear they have lost to the combined forces invading the dungeon.

The [Sinew Magus] spells out for Ceria that despite being one of the more powerful members of the Horns, she has been complacent in her training and lacking in physical acumen; and he advises a rigorous training regimen for her, consisting of a healthy diet and sessions submerged in a boiling bath in order to strengthen her ice magic. She credits the training with allowing her the skills and fitness to survive and defeat an Adult Creler at the Bloodfields.

Ceria recovers after Flos tries to destroy the Circlet. After mocking Death-General Losve, Ceria and the Horns flee from the general for miles. When the general finally gives up, Ceria meets up with Amerys. They talk about magic, and Ceria realizes that Amerys is just as insecure about her magical knowledge as she is. Ceria shows Amerys the magical clothes she acquired from the City of Shields. Amerys tries to take them, but returns them after Ceria threatens her with ice spikes.

Ceria and Amerys discuss how far Wistram mages have advanced and how the magical gap is widening—they don’t think they can keep up. They find one of Wistram's magical carriages and attempt to reverse-engineer its magic. They come up with different theories, with Pisces helping them, but they still haven’t figured out how the magical carriage was fully created.

Ceria arrives in Hraace and is judged by the pedagogia of Hraace. She predicts that there will be a hero within the Horns team. Each of the Horns gets a trainer, and they begin training. Ceria trains in running on complicated ice ramps. At first, she finds it hard to reach the end of the ramps, but after a few days, she not only finishes the very challenging ice ramps but also defeats her trainers. Ceria encounters the hero, Doubte, and challenges him to a friendly fight. Doubte defeats the Horns.

Ceria talks to Teres and helps her find her own path. She assists Teres in escaping from Flos’s guards and boarding a ship from Rime heading towards the new lands in Izril.

Ceria receives an invitation from Yisame, asking the Horns to visit her. Ceria agrees. On their way to Nerrhavia’s Fallen, they encounter slavers. The Horns attack and free the slaves. {{TBA}}

Near the beginning of the story, Ceria was able to cast Tier 3 magic at best. Khelt has suffered the attacks of [[Vampires]] when those ruled the world and briefly held Chandrar. Khelt fought back along with the Shield Kingdoms of the era and every other nation of Chandrar, and the continent was the first to drive out Vampires. Fetohep personally went to defeat Medain, but was opposed by a knight crusade from [[Terandria]], the [[Claiven Earth]]'s army, and Medain's Named Adventurers. This would be the first time Khelt's ruler was seen slain in battle, though it was just a body double puppeteered by Fetohep.

Following the reveal that Fetohep was alive and well, he unleashed Khelt's greater armies. Khelt claimed two Named [[adventurers|Aventurers]] and a Named-rank team. The Rites of the Revenant were used again, opening first three tombs, and later the remaining two.<ref name=":1" />

Khelt's ruler has absolute command over the undead workforce and armies. The armies consist of, according to several assessments, endless numbers of undead who can be raised from the ground at the will of the Khelt's ruler. The numbers of undead are so vast that 40,000 skeleton warriors are considered a message.<ref name="6.55K" />

Within Khelt’s land the Undead warriors are stronger, faster, ''deadlier,'' and imbued with the knowledge of combat. But elsewhere they become mindless and weaker, as Khelt's ruler’s power extended across their domain and weakened with every mile. Khelt's ruler could still send them to attack their enemies, but they would most probably get lost to the desert, turned into an undead horde that might well attack someone else or simply be lost. As such Khelt's ruler has to rely on politics and gold abroad, like [Assassins] to kill their enemies outside the kingdom. Only when Khelt's ruler personally leads the army out of its borders do the Undead warriors retain their strength and control.<ref name=":8.08 J" />

All citizens are encouraged to pursue whatever passion and destiny they like, while food and shelter and many services are provided by the undead laborers. Among that is cooking, attending the king and occasional guests. Some even eschew classes to pursue various hobbies. One of the actually necessary jobs in Khelt is [Magistrate], in order to keep the peace and administer laws.<ref name=":4" />

The citizens of Khelt work for four days a week, and much less time than people of other nations. Physical work is not required. However, after their death, their bodies are reanimated to serve for menial labor. For that reason, there are no slaves in Khelt, the owning of which is illegal. After the Days of Return and the weakening of the undead force, citizens are encouraged to do menial labor as Commended Volunteers, with mixed results as some simply leave their task when they get tired of it.

A young man on horseback declares that he has come for Flos's head, whereupon a young Flos lying on the ground just looks up and yawns. Bewildered by this, the young man, Venith, stops. Shortly afterwards, Venith rides with his horse slowly towards Flos, asking him angrily if Flos had heard him correctly. Once again, Flos seems unfazed by the stranger's aggressiveness. Venith's pride can't tolerate it any longer, lifts his sword, and asks Flos if he had any last words before he cuts him apart. Unexpectedly, Flos simply wonders why Venith hadn't attacked him while he had his guard down. Although Venith doesn't admit it it, he seems to be too honorable for that. After a quick back and forth, Venith tells Flos to get on his stallion. To Venith's dismay, even that Flos won't do, and states that he will fight on foot. After a second of furious internal debate, Venith swings himself off his horse. As it is proper, both introduce themselves before the they start the duel. Five minutes later, Venith lies on the ground and lists internally the damage he had received. Then, refusing to cry, he tells Flos to finish him already off. To his surprise, Flos doesn't see a reason to kill him. When being asked why he had come for Flos' head, Venith replies with needing the bounty that is on him. That only makes the young king laugh, stating that it's then no wonder that he lost with a bad reason like that, as only someone with a dream that is at least half as big as ''his'' would have a chance of beating him. Flos leaves with saying laughingly that he can challenge him again if he has found a better reason for fighting.

Flos laughs, recalling how similar his first meeting with Venith was to the reunion he has with him now. Wiping the tears from his eyes, Flos ask if he has a better reason for seeking his life this time? Coldly, the now aged Venith declares that it's for the peace of his people and retribution for an oathbreaker. Hearing that reply, Flos's shoulders slump slightly, staring at Venith with disappointment and regret or guilt. Done with speaking, Venith rides forwards to kill the king that had betrayed him. The mob of villagers surrounding Flos make him stop, though. He orders them to move aside. A man comes forth from the crowd and pleads him to stop, as although Venith had ruled over them for the last 10 years, the villagers still see Flos as their [King]. The Lord is furious by this and tells Flos to send them away and to face him by himself. However, one knight of Venith's army seemed to have disagreed with them fighting each other alone and charges on his horse towards the King of Destruction. The king easily catches his weapon, though, making the knight fall off his horse. Having crashed on the ground, the villagers start surrounding and kick him for daring to attack their king. Realizing that this is the son of his former friend, Flos makes the villagers stop. Venith picks his son up and retreats with his army for the time being. Outside of the village, the father slaps his son for being an idiot. He tells his son and the rest of his army not to underestimate an army of villagers, and especially not Flos, as his Skills can make any battle even. He then orders his men to surround the village and alert him when the king moves.

Venith thinks back to the 2nd time he and Flos had met. Venith rides away from his father's burning castle and the screaming village, as armed soldiers were killing them. His attempt to escape is then ruined by 16 black armor wearing riders. Before the leader could kill him, Flos arrives to save him. The leader then reveals that they are the Black Judgement, that they punish pathbreakers and criminals. And they have come for Venith's family, the house of Crusland, given that they have ''failed to honor their debts''. Flos isn't convinced by this argument, though, as ''paying their debts'' would have basically meant to sell their people as slaves. A young, frightened Gazi comes forth and reveals the enormous number of enemy soldiers, which vastly exceeds the number of Flos' army. The leader of the Black Judgement shouts that Flos has no right to interfere and they are following the law, which Venith's family have broken. The King of Reim ignores her, however, looks around and sees a dead child lying on the ground. After hearing from Venith the name of the girl, he raises his sword and says to his army that ''this'' is their reason, and charges towards the vast army.

Back in the village, Teres asks Flos the reason for Venith's hatred for him. Flos doesn't know if it was for abandoning him, for leaving the kingdom to rot, etc., but that he has to answer him. Trey tells him that he has just a single weapon, while Venith is wearing full plate armor. Flos replies that he would, indeed, prefer something else, but Venith will not wait and that a sword is all he needs. The twins keep trying to dissuade him from it, with no success though. With the two former friends now standing in front of each other in the duelling circle, Flos again asks him why he desires his death. Venith says that it is because ''he abandoned them'', and then runs towards Flos with a raised sword. Despite his vast improvements over the years, Venith is still no match for his former king.

dRight before Flos wants to give him the finishing blow, Venith's son, Calac, throws himself in front of his father and begs for mercy. Flos watches as villagers and soldiers pull Calac away with Teres and Trey standing by his side. Flos, then, turns his head, frowns, and pushed Trey off his feet. Trey then sees an arrow flying where his legs had been. Flos reveals that Venith's wifes is the archer, who is standing on on a hill thousand feet away. Teres is starting to panic because she sees that the wife is about to fire another arrow. Flos remains calm, knowing that Gazi is on the hill as well with a sword in hand. On the hill, the archers, Lady Maresar, lowers her bow after noticing the Half Gazer. Gazi manages to convince Maresar to stop attacking her king by saying that her lord hadn't come to kill her husband in the first place. She ends the conversation with threatening Gazi with killing her first if she is wrong.

Having regained his consciousness, Venith Crusland tells him, as he did in the past, to finish him off. Flos smiles, as his friend hadn't changed even after all these years, and tells him that he could never kill him. Flos asks his old friend one more time to join him, after Venith had again mentioned furiously how he abandoned them and he vowed in the past to kill Flos the next time he saw him.

Before Venith gives his answer he recalls the moment when Flos had said that he is finished and will stop. At that time he said that he will never accept it and will wait for the day when Flos comes to his senses.

=== Present Time: ===
Venith takes Flos' hand, thinking that his old friend finally put his grudge aside, until Venith struck him in the face. Venith then rides away with his army, as he hasn't forgotten the day Flso turned his back on him.

Having left the village, Venith meets his wife, who asks him if he is feeling better now after having struck his king. Unlike Venith, Maresar still recognizes Flos as her king. Venith is confused when his wife tells him that she will waits for him at Flos' side and he should hurry up and ''make peace with the past''. He calls for her but she doesn't look back. Maresar enters the village with a few of her soldiers greeting the king, who is overjoyed seeing her again. Gazi, who is also now standing beside her lord, mentions that Orthenon marches with an army towards the village, to Flos' dismay.

Venith, seeing Orthenon at the head of the army, greets him. Orthenon attacks him with his spear, making Venith fall down after having blocked it with his shield. Only, then, does Orthenon greet him calmly. Mars simply kicks Venith in the back, in passing. Shortly later, Flos meets Orthenon who begins to shout at Flos for being so reckless. Flos stops him and tells him to simply ''Take care of it'' ... ''Please.'' Orthenon smiles at Flos' order, as if remembering the past.

The chapter ends with Trey entering Flos's chambers with both of them talking about the events of the day and Trey's insecurities in the face of his sister's triumphs and abilities. Flos tells Trey of a secret that not even Gazi knows: Flos used to write poetry.

== Synopsis ==
The next morning, Erin comes up with a plan to help Krshia's election campaign. She tells Lyonette, Numbtongue, and Mrsha to prepare for a party and then leaves the inn through the magic door.

In Liscor, Olesm receives word that Erin is on the move and that the Council has officially voted to allow an election. Despite Lism's confidence, Olesm is worried because nobody can predict what Erin will do.

Erin arrives in Pallas, once again having forgotten to sign up for entry on the list. She speaks to Lorent and Maughin, who she convinces to come to Liscor with her by mentioning he could inspect the Heartflame Breastplate. Grimalkin also agrees to accompany her after a coincidental meeting.

After a series of humorous meetings and greetings at the Wandering Inn, Maughin and Grimalkin follow Erin into Liscor. The trio attract all sorts of attention as they wander around and talk to Selys, Raekea, and Relc. Grimalkin gives a demonstration and Erin tells everybody about weights and weightlifting.

Maughin and his fellow smiths forge some prototype weights while Erin provides instructions and tempts them with ice cream and cake.

== Synopsis ==
Duo chapter between [[Erin Solstice|Erin]] and [[Numbtongue]]. It starts off with Erin telling the others over breakfast, same day as the previous chapter, that she planned on going to Pallass. No one really cares, wishing her good luck. She enters the city, but is stopped by [[Kel]] who asks her for her identification and why she wasn’t written on the approved guest list. Erin is forced to wait until Watch Captain [[Venim]] vouches her identity. Erin tells them she’s there to sightsee and might bring [[Lyonette du Marquin|Lyonette]], [[Mrsha du Marquin|Mrsha]] and… a goblin. This causes Venim to freeze up and tell her that any goblins that enter Pallass are executed. Though he tries to be kind after she defended Liscor from humans and goblins in v5, Erin tells them that ‘it’s not over yet!’ And walks off. The first she meets is the Dullahan [[Lorent]] and is surprised when he takes his head off. She runs away, shell shocked. She heads down one floor, to the sixth, where people recognize her. She has a meltdown and starts crying, only to be found by [[Rufelt Owelt|Rufelt]]. Next, Numbtongue wanders off to find a nice place to mine. He digests the information and memory of [[Pyrite]], finding a monster cave of stone mites. Using Pyrites memories, he clicks until they stop bothering him and begin looking for something to dig with the help of the mana stone. Turn back to Erin, as Rufelt offers her a nali stick. Soon, [[Lasica Feltail|Lasica]] finds them with a scowl before they become tour guides and shows her around. She meets [[Maughin]] on the 9th floor and [[Pelt Dooristone|Pelt]] very briefly, and later is introduced to [[Xif]] who resides on the ninth floor as well. As they’re headed to Rufelt and Lascia’s bar, they meet [[Grimalkin Duveig|Grimalkin]] with his apprentices. The chapter ends with Erin being offered food and drinks, and growing happier. == Synopsis ==

* Revi argues with the rest of her team over Erin's bad tasting magical cooking, she's still experimenting with the recipe and Revi wants something better tasting. Ulrien tells her that the whole team are getting defense food regardless of the taste. They notice a lot of people getting the strength souffle but also a lot of adventurers in the inn. They see a large group of 20 or so silver and bronze rank declaring their first attempt into the dungeon all due to Vuliel Drae's spoils.
* Halrac begins asking his team and the Halfseekers where they went wrong, with all these bronze rank adventurers getting ahead of them. Moore says that most of the adventurers are making a mistake since Vuliel Drae got lucky with the unknown Swordswoman helping them out. Seborn says that this dungeon is exceptionally difficult compared to most dungeons and Halrac agrees, calling it a vengeance dungeon. Halrac explains that containment dungeons contain something, future generation dungeons are there to train people and vengeance dungeons are built with artifacts sealed away and the worst traps to guard them.
* A silver rank Drake one of the leaders of the large expedition approaches Halrac the Grim for advice before they enter the dungeon. Jelaqua tells them not to go because they'll die and not to go through the rift entrance which silences most of the adventurers in the room. Halrac agrees but the group goes anyway, bravado lost. The gold-ranks head for the dungeon too but prepared for it.
* Typhenous meets the group outside the dungeon entrance after finishing his business in the city. The group talk about how risky it is to enter through the rift as the escape route is too dangerous especially with such a large group. Typhenous tells them that he was in Liscor trying to acquire lodestones to link to the door to multiple locations but they will have to wait until they arrive to do so.
* The group passes the barricade that the Guardsmen have set up and enter the dungeon. Halrac and Seborn scout ahead of the group and come to a trapped room with a spike trap that Seborn triggers rather than look for a way to disable. They spend some time working on disabling the trap properly before slowly crossing the room one at a time.
* The second room has a pit trap which Griffon Hunt had previously set up a rope bridge, the fourth room had a very heavy door which required Ulrien, Moore and Jelaqua's combined strength to move. They consider taking the door back before Senprm points out a trap: magical acid mist. They have to wait for it to dissipate as Jelaqua breaks out some food to eat. Halrac tells the others that Ulrien and he were soldiers and they hunt Griffons so they're more serious. Ulrien talks about the Half-seekers reputation - Typhenous mentions hearing about Jelaqua coming from Baleros as a silver-rank when he was much younger, and also when they were one of the best Gold-rank teams on the continent when they had 7 members.
* Jelaqua stops laughing and solemnly tells them about how they had 8 members and thought they could become a Named team. Typhenous asks if what happened was related to what happened in the Sepicus Delve but Jelaqua tells them it was what happened after that broke them apart: a fight over treasure between the 5 other members. They were betrayed and one of their members turned on the other four and killed them and fled with everything they found, the Half-seekers had kept his identity secret except to those closest to them and Jelaqua urges Griffon Hunt to maintain their secret. She tells them that their eighth member was a Hobgoblin called Garen Redfang and he was probably as strong as any Goblin could be before being a Goblin Lord. They still don't know what was so important.
* Six hours after entering they finally return back to the entrance only for the Guardsmen to inform them that some monster has managed to climb up from the second entrance. Halrac heads off first to check things out when the rest decide to defend the inn. On the way back Halrac returns and tells them that it's a group of undead, Flesh Worms and two Crypt Lords. The two teams agree to enter the fight, each taking a Worm. Both adventurer teams manage to take down the monsters and they return to the inn. Erin greets them, serves them food and then begins to talk about her plan with slimes.
* The leader of the Windfrozen Riders, escorting Laken, is chattering to the Emperor until Durene approaches and saves Laken from the incessant talking. Durene asks if she can punch him but Laken reluctantly dismisses her question while mentioning one of the other adventurers they hired, the [Witch] that was threatening to turn him into a toad. They were almost back to Riverfarm.

== Synopsis ==
Rags absorbs the Gold Stone Tribe into her own: She surrounded them with superior tactics and then accepted their unbloody surrender. As the united tribes prepare their evening meal, 60 mounted warriors under command of the Red Fang Chieftain appear in the camp, challenging Rags.

Rags refuses to fight personally and tries to ambushing the Red Fang leader. Every tactic fails, but the Red Fang Chieftain retreats and wants to show Rags that she is no true goblin leader. Rags has to retreat, while permanently being ambushed by the Red Fangs and their Carn Wolf riders. Her attempts to ambush them or lure them into a mined gorge fail.

Of Rags' over 800 goblins, 100 die within several days of ambushes and harrassment. One of Rags' Hobs challenges her but she can kill him and preserve her authority. She retreats all the way to Liscor and sets one final trap for the Red Fang Leader. All her Hobs and half of the remaining Goblins desert from her camp, and Rags prepares a feeble battle line. The Red Fang Chieftain avoids the pit traps in front of the battle line easily, but the Hobgoblins and the rest of Rags' force emerge from the pits and surround the Red Fangs.

In the middle of the battle, a memory of the Goblin King flashes through Rags' mind, and she understands that Goblins should not fight amongst each other. The Red Fang Leader tries to kill her, but she escapes into one of the Shield Spider pits and smashes a Jar of Acid on them both. She has a healing potion, and in an act of mercy, she spares her rest on the enemy leader. The Red Fang Chieftain hesitates, but then submits his tribe to Rags and tells her his name.

Even though she had him vanquished in the end, Rags realizes that Garen had gone easy against her - his 60 Elite Warriors should have beaten her 1000 low level followers. Garen then explains that he's not a good chieftain and that the tribes must unite against a bad Goblin Lord.

The nature of what it means to be a [Hero] is discussed. Out of all the different perspectives to be had about the subject, what it means to be one, how their path should be written, the one thing that [[Isthekenous]] argued for is that the only certainty of a [Hero] is that Heroes cheated.

Near the [[Zeikhal Desert]], [[Doubte]] is farming [[Yellat|yellats]] while a sandstorm is happening, he ponders over what the howling winds are telling him. [[Pisces Jealnet|Pisces]] is awaken up from a nightmare, then from [[Colthei Lacment|Colth]], and finally from [[Yvlon Byres|Yvlon]] as the camp is getting ready to move onwards. As they eat their morning grub and pack up, Hraace is brought up and who out of the expected group going there is worthy of it. As Pisces and [[Chivic]] speak of what it means to be a part of the [[Rustängmarder]], [[Ceria Springwalker|Ceria]] pushes too far with her banter which in turn makes her receives the ire of Death-General [[Losve]] and is challenged to a duel. Not wanting to die the [[Horns of Hammerad]] flee in an attempt to outrun Losve, after a few close calls they were able to lose her by reaching [[Reim]]. As they walk through the streets, they notice the peculiarity of the children's growth and the slave trade that is happening.

Before an incident can occurs, Ceria and Yvlon are taken aside by [[Amerys Retoiber]] and [[Mars]] respectively to dish out some need conversation. Ceria and Amerys conversation centers around their past relationship with [[Illphres]], how elemental magic affects the mage wielding that power, Ceria's loot from the [[Crossroads of Izril]], and the mask they put on around others. While those two are talking Yvlon is constantly being knocked down in her spars against Mars, Mars notes that Yvlon is not ready in the manner of strength to define the battlefield but that she has the experience and mettle that others don't. As mages do whenever near one another, the topic of magic is brought up such as Ceria lacking foundational knowledge and Amerys not being a true [[Archmage|[Archmage]]]. They also note that ever since [[Eldavin]] and his [[Terras]] faction became the leading figures of [[Wistram Academy|Wistram]] that the standard of magic has also slowly arisen. They capture a few of the magical carriages that Wistram have been introducing around the world to dig into the secrets of its structure. Pisces is awoken again by another nightmare and is lightly compelled to join in with the other two mages while they discuss the intricacies of how the carriage magically works and its fabrication.

Using his skill [Monitor Attribute (Health)], [[Ksmvr]] and [[Vofea]] contemplate on what is causing so much damage to Yvlon. The conversation then shifts to how Ksmvr treats himself as an expendable part of the team with no desires or thoughts outside of what the team wants. Vofea then introduces Rockerton, a rock that she just picked up, as the newest member of the team in an attempt to compare it to Ksmvr's views of himself. With the comparison failing, they go on to discuss Vofea lacking combat ability, their hobbies and such but are interrupted when [[Veine Ecleith|Veine]] brings a message that a scouting group have come across a system of tunnels which is assumed to be a maze telepathically created by [[Selphids]].

== Synopsis ==

* Over a month after Flos defeats the besieging coalition army Trey is sitting on a balcony in Reim's palace overlooking a procession of String People (The Serpent Hunters) entering the city. They are followed by a group of humans carrying parasols (Parasol Stroll). Both groups of Flos' former vassals have returned to join him. Trey has spent the last few weeks not talking to anyone because Flos has chosen to enslave and sell the prisoners from the coalition army. He had not only argued with Flos over it, but with Teres as well.
* A flashback begins showing Trey and Teres' argument - Trey arguing at the wrongness and injustice of Flos enslaving them and Teres arguing the practicality of Flos' decision. The argument gets heated and after Trey starts insulting Teres she draws her sword before he runs away from her. Later Trey confronts Flos about it and the King of Destruction argues that imprisonment on Earth is more cruel and pointless than how slavery is conducted on Chandrar - with the Traders of Roshal being an independent third party. In exchange for the slaves Reim will gain coin and food which they need for the winter. The flashback ends with Trey refusing to speak to Flos or his vassals since.
* In the present Gazi approaches Trey to bring him to Flos so he can be present for the welcoming of Flos' vassals - The Serpent Hunters and Parasol Stroll. Trey refuses and Gazi, having been out of the city for a while, talks to him about his view on slavery. Trey explains how ownership of a person is wrong and Gazi informs him that slavery is not as prevalent in other locations such as Izril, but on Terandria, Rhir and Baleros slaves are also legal. She continues to explain that in Reim slaves cannot be mistreated and Flos will generally free any slaves he takes interest to.
* After Trey refuses to rejoin Flos Gazi tells him that she was permitted to use force to bring him there, but just this once she decides to disobey his order. Trey asks whether Gazi believes in slavery - and she does. But she doesn't like it and tells him how she herself was born into slavery before Flos freed her. Gazi has since tried to explain to Flos about it but he has yet to change his mind.
* Gazi begins to talk about levels and how she's always been the weakest of the Seven and tells Trey that one of the secrets Flos knows is how a [King] or other [Ruler] can remove a needless class. She manages to somehow convince Trey to rejoin Flos by being one of the two people that might be able to eventually change his opinion.
* Gazi then talks to Trey about the staff in his room that he gained from the Geomancer during the battle. As a Gazer, who are highly magical beings, Gazi considers seeing if she can help teach Trey magic. Gazi then explains that Flos will likely go to war against Hellios and Germina now that Parasol Stroll and the Serpent Hunters have arrived. The next day Trey finds himself marching alongside the King of Destruction after he once again declares war.
* Six weeks later Magnolia Reinhart arrives via her pink carriage at the Melissar house at a gathering of other [Lords] and [Ladies]. She and Ressa enter the ballroom and begin to greet some of the other guests while trying to look for the host, Lady Patricia Melissar. They encounter Tyrion Veltras, the first time in four years, and they reluctantly greet him when he approaches them.
* After the two leaders of one of the Five Families have exhcanged unpleasantries, Lady Bethal and her husband Thomast approaches Magnolia. Bethal is upset and asks Magnolia whether she had a hand in the [Assassin] that had intruded into her home. Magnolia reassures her that she had nothing to do with it and Bethal immediately brightens up.
* The debate amongst the nobles is carried out via speaking stones. The first topic if the return of the King of Destruction brought up by one of the more impatient Lords. News of Flos' conquest of Germina and beheading of the Quarass has reached them. One of the Lords defends Flos stating that it was a war of retaliation, but Lady Wuvren berates him for approving of his one day massacre against the enemy army. Lord Relt calls for Flos to be stopped before he can threaten the shores of Izril once again, but another Lord, Halast doesn't fear Flos as he is surrounded by nations that wish him dead.
* The argument escalates before someone asks what a Quarass is. Bethal explains how the Quarass is not just a tribal leader but is the leader of one of the Shield Kingdoms - who were each powerul Empires that could challenge Dragons.
* The debate continues with calls for action via sending gold or sending an army across the sea, but is suddenly interrupted by a Minotaur with a proposal. The Minotaur, representing the King of Minos, says they are prepared to do battle with the King of Destruction and is looking for a treaty to sail without hindrance and some contributions to their army.
* Magnolia is unsure what to do about their offer but it is called to a public vote by one of the other Lords. Magnolia considers that without a concrete argument she would need to rope in Tyrion in order to have enough influence to decide the vote outright. Both she and Tyrion vote to support the Minotaurs.
* Before everyone leaves Magnolia brings up the topic of the Goblin Lord that has appeared. Some of the other Lords consider if a Drake problem and aren't worried about the outcome. Magnolia tries to emphasise the possible danger, reminding them of the Goblin King but Tyrion interrupts and says that the Drakes should deal with it. Magnolia brings up the fall of Esthelm but Tyrion refutes it with news of it's recent recovery. The two continue argue over Tyrion's feud with the Drakes when an [Assassin] attempts to kill Magnolia with a thrown dagger. Tyrion intervenes and saves her while the assassin throws down a head of his first victim before retreating.
* Magnolia sends Ressa to hunt down the other assassins whilst Thomast, the [Chevalier], duels and kills the first before he can escape. Magnolia approaches the head and discovers that the deceased is Lady Patricia Melissar, the host of the gathering. Magnolia realises that this must be another one of the Circle of Thorns' assassins.
* Magnolia turns to the only heir of Patricia, her 9-year old daughter Eliasor. Magnolia has the Lords and Ladies gathered witness Eliasor's ascension to head of her family despite the girls' tears. Magnolia tells the girl that Patricia being one of her confidants might have been the cause of her death.
* Magnolia gathers the other ladies to reform her entourage: Bethal, Pryde, Wuvren and Zanthia and warns them of the danger. She has Bethal gather her Knights of the Petal and encourages the others to gather their protectors. Magnolia finally decides that it's time to return to her family estate in First Landing.

Rags defeats a small Human army. [[Welca Caveis|Welca]] escapes while [[Kerrig Louis|Kerrig]] chooses to stay with the Goblins. Rags decides to head south, to [[Liscor]], and to [[Erin]].

== Synopsis ==
[[Welca Caveis|Welca]] and [[Kerrig Louis|Kerrig]] talk. Welca wants to escape, Kerrig urges her to stay and speak with the Goblins. He wonders that goblins aren’t monsters, but people.

[[Rags]] and her officers consider what to do with the Goblins. Rags comes to decision to volunteer them for spearhead attacks to redeem themselves. Instead of talking with Kerrig as he requested, she puts [[Pyrite]] to the task and tries to learn [[Noears]]’ magic instead.

Pyrite talks with Kerrig and Welca, about what Goblins desire, the [[Flooded Waters Tribe|Flooded Waters tribe]]’s misdeeds and their justifications, and how humans are very similar. Kerrig feels guilt about his eradicating Goblins in the past, the children in particular. Pyrite has questions about magic; he wants to make sense of it. He compares Goblin shamanic magic to theirs. The divide between humans and goblins rears its head repeatedly. Pyrite reveals he can harness magic in gemstones by chewing them. He gives a ruby to Rags. Kerrig asks Rags to talk with her and gets rebuffed.

Loot from the two captured [[Knights of the Petal]] gets divvied up among the Goblins.

The tribe leaves the swampland and a Goblin scout reports a Human army of 800 attacking the [[Frostfeeder Tribe]]. Kerrig tries to convince Rags not to attack, but fails. Rags’ tribe easily defeats the Human army. Kerrig urges Welca to take a horse to flee and warn Lady [[Bethal]]. Meanwhile, Kerrig chooses to stay, in the off-chance that he can reason with Rags or Pyrite and work to make peace between Humans and Goblins. He duels multiple Redfang warriors one-on-one, impressing [[Redscar]]. He witnesses the Flooded Waters Tribe's lifting their swords in silent celebration of their recent triumph in battle, with his eyes stinging at an unknown emotion at the display.

As the tribe makes camp for the night, Rags and Pyrite find a crossroad of signs. Rags chooses to turn her tribe towards the south, to [[Liscor]]. When she goes to bed she thinks of [[Erin Solstice|Erin]], and what she would say to her old Human friend.
