'''Khoteizetrough''' is an Earth Elemental and the guardian of [[Gaarh Marsh Tribe]].

== Appearance ==
It is not humanoid in appearance - it is far more rotund, has a 'face' of sorts, made of plant matter<ref>{{VERef|The Tribes of Izril – Interlude}}</ref>.

'''Rhisveri Zessoprical''' is an [[Ailendamus]] Duke, and is speculated to be King [[Itorin Zessoprical II|Itorin Zessoprical II's]] brother, cousin, or uncle<ref>https://wanderinginn.com/2021/04/28/8-19-h/</ref><ref name=":0" />, albeit separated from the direct line of the monarchy. It would later be revealed that he is actually a [[Wyrms|Wyrm]] named '''Rhis’veri Zessoprical''' (''Full Real Incomplete'').

== Appearance==
In his true Wyrm form he has a vast body (larger than [[Teriarch]]), with flashing scales of a brilliant, even beautiful jade green, with his underbelly a shiny pale white. His eyes are colored like his scales, jade green.<ref name=":8.33 R">[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/07/28/8-33-r/ Chapter 8.33 R]</ref> He also had two claws which he could use to support himself as he looked down, or adjust his posture.<ref name=":8.35">[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/08/04/8-35/ Chapter 8.35]</ref>

In his Human form he has jade green eyes, a pointed goatee, and harsh features,<ref name=":8.33 R" /> and wears expensive dark-purple silk robes ostentatiously augmented by Truegold, and numerous magical rings, and though he carried no weapon, he made up for it with all the other artifacts on his person.<ref name=":0">[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/04/10/8-16/ Chapter 8.16]</ref>

==Personality ==
Rhisveri has an arrogant and haughty personality. Supremely confident in his own intelligence, he tends to overlook details that he deems unimportant or insignificant, such as when he believed that Tyrion Veltras would not retaliate against Ailendamus, failing to realize that his [[Sammial Veltras|son]] had been kidnapped.

Rhisveri is obsessive in hunting down those who try to steal from him, such as when he made a number of magical attacks against [[Ryoka Griffin|Ryoka]] for breaking into his hoard. He tends to look down on Humans who have wronged them, calling them "''things."'' He considers lusting after mammals as degenerate behavior, and casually strips Ryoka naked in his efforts to study her. He is also angered when called a Dragon, seeing them as lesser beings. Rhisveri covets valuable objects, though he refuses to steal them even from those he considers criminals, and will instead offer to trade for them.<ref>[[Chapter 8.35]]</ref>

He is terrified of [Dragonslayers] to the point of running away.

He is incapable of tolerating defeat, even when they are necessary.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/06/06/8-26-fk/ Chapter 8.26 FK]</ref>

== Background==
Rhisveri's age is unknown, though it can be inferred that it ranges from between centuries to millenium. He believes that he is the last Wyrm alive. He possesses knowledge of at least three Dragons currently living, including [[Teriarch]]. While he is aware of the existence of the [[Frost Faeries|Faeries]], he only knows them as "the gateway folk" and does not recognize [[Oberon]]'s name, though he is instinctively wary of it.

800 years ago he had battled to the death his own brother, [[Calthusveri]], to take his Scroll of Resurrection, which now he hoards.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/09/22/8-43/ Chapter 8.43]</ref>

It is heavily implied that he helped Ailendamus into becoming the current Terandrian power that it is, while also establishing it as a sanctuary for other immortals. At some point before the events of [[The Wandering Inn Wiki|The Wandering Inn]], Rhisveri made a pact with [[Itorin Zessoprical II|Itorin II]], making him a [Wyrmpact King].

To Ailendamus' public, he presents himself as a relative of King Itorin, though most are not clear on the specificity of their relation to each other. He is infamous as a eccentric, difficult genius.

==Chronology==
After Ryoka and [[Ivolethe]] break into Ailendamus' vault to try to steal a cure for [[Erin Solstice|Erin]], Rhisveri spends a week trying to track down the thieves, though he is unable to discern Ryoka's name or what Ivolethe is. He also demands the Order of the Thirsting Veil to track down the thieves, screaming at one of the [Knight-Generals].<ref>[[Chapter 8.16]]</ref> During the raid on the [[Village of the Dead]], Rhisveri sees Ryoka flying on the scrying orb, and realizes that she is one of the thieves. He casts an unknown spell that opens a giant hole in the sky over Ryoka with a massive single blinking eye, calling her "''Thief''." It is dissipated by Ryoka's impromptu [Flashbang].<ref>[[Chapter 8.17 H]]</ref>

When the Order of the Seasons is about to attack one of Ailendamus' forces, Rhisveri sends a [Message] to General Vexil asking if he has a contingency plan in place. However, Vexil dismisses the Duke's words. Later, Rhisveri continues to [Scry] on Ryoka and seeing that she is about to run off, casts a spell that causes red lightning to hit and curses her, all the while swearing vengeance, which everyone in Ryoka's surroundings can hear.<ref>[[Chapter 8.24]]</ref>

Rhisveri continues to watch Ryoka and when the curse on her is broken, casts multiple spells in an attempt to re-curse her, though his attempts are dissuaded by Tyrion, Lady Keireen, and Buscrei. When [[Eldavin]] tries to track down his location, he is able overpower him magically. Ailendamus [Knights] that he had sent to Izril are able to attack the Veltras mansion and kidnap Ryoka. Rhisveri orders the [Knights] to use a Scroll of Greater Teleport to send Ryoka to his location. He is able to recognize that Dame Eclizza was killed by the [[Silvenia|Death of Magic]] during the [Greater Teleport] and orders everyone to leave him and Ryoka and Sammial. Ryoka is able to cut off his hand with the Faeblade, which annoys him, causing his simulacra to collapse. He does not reveal his true body, but does so, insulted, when Ryoka calls him a Dragon. He is shocked to smell the presence of a Dragon on her, as well as mating pheromones from a [[Sikeri’val-Toreshio-Maresssui|female Wyrm]].<ref>[[Chapter 8.33 R]]</ref> Assuming that Ryoka is trying to trick him, Rhisveri strips her naked telepathically, though is dissuaded when Ryoka says Sikeri's full name, as well as demanding that he put her down in the name of Oberon, which he does not recognize. He is interested in Sikeri's appearance, while also intrigued by a number of valuable objects on Ryoka's person and offers to trade for them. However, he is able to see something in King Arthur's autograph which divulges [Dragonslayer], which terrifies him momentarily.<ref>[[Chapter 8.35]]</ref> He orders [Knights] to imprison Ryoka and Sammial, the latter whom he does not recognizes as Tyrion Veltras' son, causing him to assume that Tyrion did not have ''causus belli'' in attacking Ailendamus.

Rhisveri is furious when he finds out Ryoka was able to trepass into the Court of Masks, though he is amused when he inadvertently causes her to realize that she is a sycophant. He is later forced to let Ryoka and Sammial to roam free when she is given payment by Oberon for delivering Sikeri's "message." <ref>[[Chapter 8.41]]</ref>
==Powers and Abilities==
As a Wyrm, it is implied that Rhisveri, like Dragons, are not part of the Leveling System. However, he is still able to cast powerful magic, being able to outclass Teriarch (albeit in a half-Elf body, without his full memories) while being backed by multiple Wistram mages, and cast curses that only a Level 40 [Sorcerer] could dissipate. He is capable of casting spells to an entirely separate continent without using [Scrying], though it is unknown if the spell power decreases over long distances similar to Teriarch. He can also create a simulacra of a Human body, which he uses to walk around in the general public. Additionally, Rhisveri is able to sniff out valuables objects, and even determine how many there are by scent alone, suggesting he possesses a powerful nose.

===Spells:===

*[Greater Scry]
*[Silence]
*Unknown giant eye spell
*Unknown red lightning spell

==Trivia==

*According to Ryoka, since he has two claws he is not a true Wyrm but a '''Lindwyrm''', which have two claws, unlike a Wyrm who had no limbs at all and is entirely serpentlike.<ref name=":8.35" />
*Itorin II's children refer to him as "uncle," though he doesn't particularly care for them.

==Notes ==

*Before it was revealed that Rhisveri was a Wyrm in [[Chapter 8.33 R]], there was a fan theory formed from [[Chapter 8.19 H]] that he was a Dragon.

'''Baleros''' is the continent that is the home of the [[Lizardfolk]], [[Centaurs]], [[Dullahans]], [[Gazers]], [[Humans]] and even [[Beastkin]].

== Overview ==
Baleros is a massive continent. To [[Earthworlders]], it might resemble the Americas, albeit with a few noticeable differences, for example is there no equivalent to the ''Panama Canal'' — the continent is a fairly solid chunk that has a large southern jungle and a vaguely hammer-esque north half.<ref name="6.06D">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/04/09/6-06-d/ Chapter 6.06 D]</ref>

== The Companies ==
''"Baleros was a continent unique in that despite there being nations and countries and kingdoms and so on, much of the fighting was done by mercenary groups, ranging from smaller troops like the Raverian Fighters to huge Companies comprised of multiple regiments of soldiers who were almost constantly embroiled in conflict."''

The companies active on Baleros are like nations themselves. There are countless companies who have their own cities and towns where they base themselves. They have contracts and earn income from protecting places, and they send out their own armies to fight. The big ones have influence, representatives in other nation, even entire merchant organizations that cater only to them.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/07/14/1-00-d/ Chapter 1.00 D]</ref>

There are [[Four Great Companies]] who are the most influential players in Baleros, military-wise:
* The northernmost parts of Baleros are mainly controlled by the old and established [[Iron Vanguard]] Company, who are mostly [[Dullahans]], which makes them a species company. They heavily fortify their territories. The northern parts of Baleros, as well as the nothernmost parts of [[Terandria]], are the only regions of [[Innworld|the world]] which are semi-permanent snowed in.<ref name="6.06D" />
* The [[Maelstrom’s Howling]] Company are holding the wide open spaces of the middle parts of Baleros, but not all of it permanently. They are also a species company comprised mostly of [[Centaurs]], and some [[Lizardfolk]].<ref name="6.06D" />
* The [[Eyes of Baleros]] are a species company comprised mostly of [[Gazers]], and little is known about them since they are based deep in the jungle. They don't have much land, and nobody cares to fight them.<ref name="6.06D" />
* The [[Forgotten Wing Company]] seized a lot of land from other companies recently and are based in the south of Baleros. Since they are a mixed-species company, their leadership position is considered fragile.<ref name="6.06D" /> The Forgotten Wings had replaced the [[Jungle Tails]] Company (a mostly lizardfolk one), but the latter are still considered powerful.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/11/09/interlude-the-titans-question/ Interlude: The Titan's question]</ref>

LoganBlackisle: Removed 'Kevin': While he is an American, he is NOT part of the America Group that ended up in Rhir, which is the group this page describes.

'''The Americans,''' also known as the '''Champions of Rhir''', are a group of just over twenty [[Humans]] [[Earthworlders|from Earth]] who got summoned from Earth by the [[Othius the Fourth|Blighted King]] and his mages, as [Heroes], hoping that they would be able to defeat their eternal enemies, the [[Demons]]. While all members had received the [Hero] Class, most of them lost it.

== Background ==
Originally consisting of sixty random people, the Americans were hailed as a group of heroes prophesied to save the [[Blighted Kingdom]] from the monsters and demons of [[Rhir]].

Considering the timeline it is possible that all other transferred people from Earth were either the result of experiments leading to the development of the hero summoning magic or side effects of the Hero summoning of the Americans itself as the Americans are the only known transferred people where Innworlders intentionally attempted a summoning.

== Chronology ==
The American's first foray to a lightly-contested area, meant to give them experience, instead taught them the harshness of the new world when over a third of them died to an ambush from Demons and monsters.<ref name="1.00C" />

After noticing the surviving group's incapabilities, the Blighted King sent them to a [[Karaz|village]] close to the Fourth Wall, hoping that they would either level up quickly or not cause much of a problem. Only nine of them have since actively fought monsters and Demons, the rest taking on non-combat jobs to help out the village. However, all of those who refused to go out and fight (excepting Thomas) have long since lost their [Hero] class.<ref name="1.00C">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/25/1-00-c/ Chapter 1.00 C]</ref>

Just before Winter started in Rhir, a [[Demons|Demon]] attack occured: eight Demons and a [[Trolls|Troll]] attacked the village while a larger force attacked the nearby military outpost. The Americans abandoned the village and fled, except for Tom who tried to save some children of the villagers. After [[Wilen]], the boy who Tom had spent most time with, was killed by the Troll, Tom ran the Troll off and then single-handedly vanquished the Demons; the village was destroyed in the fight.

After this event, the Blighted King recalled the Americans. Soon after their arrival in the capital [[Paranfer]], the <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[Fool]]] disabled the wards that prevented teleportation into the King's castle. Another Demon attack in the capital itself was then prevented by Tom, who first saved one of the [Princesses] from assassins and then fought the real attack of [Fearless] Demons the next day. During this fight, he exposed the [Fool] as the traitor and his insane personality mocked everyone near him, including the [King] and his court.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/05/05/1-05-c/ Chapter 1.05 C]</ref>
== Members ==

=== Known Members ===
* [[Thomas]] (Also known as Tom)
* [[Richard Davenport]]
* 36 Unnamed Others (''Deceased'')

== Strength ==
The group seems to be quite strong, as some member are already over Lv. 30 in their class. This seems to be the effect of their [Hero] Class, which apparently allows them to level much faster than other people from Earth, who already level much faster compared to the original inhabitants of the other World.

Eight of the Americans (five boys and three girls) were riding out on mounted patrols around [[Karaz]],<ref name="1.00C" /> including the highest-level combatants which were Richard, Emily and Red. Others were prefering non-combatant classes, including Vincent, Cynthia and Chole.
'''Khelt''' is a kingdom of northwestern [[Chandrar]].

== Overview ==
The kingdom makes heavy use of [[Necromancers|Necromancy]]. The capital is [[Edojaf]].

It lies to the west of [[Reim]] in a distance that can be covered easily in two days.<!--Flos has a skill that doubles his traveling speed, and needed 1 day to Khelt's borders--><ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/11/02/6-54-k/ Chapter 6.54 K]</ref> In its east, there is only the Zeikhal desert and beyond that the [[Empire of Sands]].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/05/07/6-14-k/ Chapter 6.14 K]</ref>

Water is the most important resource of Khelt: produced with Oasis Tears, delivered by magic like hydromancy, or simply imported from other countries. The 'spent' water is stored for another use in large caverns.<ref name="6.55K">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/11/05/6-55-k/ Chapter 6.55 K]</ref>

== History ==
In the current form, Khelt was founded by [[Khelta]] several thousand years ago. However, [[Germina]] is still a much older nation.

:''Fetohep mentioned that his predecessors regularly ruled for several centuries and in some cases millenia. By assuming a reign of 500 years per ruler, this makes Khelt a nation over 9000 years old.''

The third [King] of Khelt was Thekheldan, in whose reign Khelt nearly fell from the apathy and excesses which were customary among the living citizens of Khelt. This necessitated reforms, which proved successful.

There have been periods where Khelt bowed to outside [Rulers] and lost its souvereignty, but Khelts [Kings] could always shake off those chains before. This was what happened again when [[Flos Reimarch]] became the King of Destruction and Fetohep was forced to pay him tribute in food, coin and allowed a thousand citizens to join Flos' armies. Khelt became independent again when Flos supreme reign over Chandrar ended.<ref name="6.55K"/>

Fetohep was resolved to not allow Flos that influence again.

== Government ==
Khelt has a monarchy government were the ruler becomes a [[Revenants|Revenant]] [Undying King/Queen] in succession. It is traditional for rulers of Khelt to abandon their names of family as they serve their nations with no personal bias.<ref name=":8.08 J">[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/02/17/8-08-j/ Chapter 8.08 J]</ref> ''More TBA''
* Queen [[Xierca]] - 18th Ruler
* King [[Fetohep]] - 19th Ruler

==== Unknown Order: ====

* King / Suzerain [[Serept]]
* King [[Razzimir]] (Ruled during the Creler Wars era)
*Queen [[Akhta]]
*Queen [[Zushe-Greso]] (ruled for 1,900 years)
*King [[Tkayl]]
*Queen [[Emrist]]
*King [[His-xe]]
*King [[Dolenm]]

== Military ==
Khelt's ruler has absolut command over the undead workforce and armies. The armies consist of, according to several assessments, endless numbers of undead who can be raised from the ground at the will of the Khelt's ruler. The undead are so vast that 40,000 skeleton warriors are considered a message.<ref name="6.55K" />

Within Khelt’s land the Undead warriors are stronger, faster, ''deadlier,'' and imbued with the knowledge of combat. But elsewhere they become mindless and weaker, as Khelt's ruler’s power extended across their domain and weakened with every mile. Khelt's ruler could still sent them to attack their enemies, but they would most probable get lost to the desert, turned into an undead horde that might well attack someone else or simply be lost. As such Khelt's ruler have to rely on politics and gold abroad, like [Assassins] to kill their enemies outside the kingdom. But within even the King of Destruction would beware invading Khelt.<ref name=":Revenant and the Naga" />

Only when Khelt's ruler personally leads the army out of its borders do the Undead warriors retain their strength and control.<ref name=":8.08 J" />

== Citizenship ==
All citizens are encouraged to pursue whatever passion and destiny they like, while food and shelter and many services are provided by the undead laborers. Among that is cooking, attending the king and occasional guests.

The citizens of Khelt work for four days a week, and much less time than people of other nations. Physical work is not required. However, after their death, their bodies are reanimated to serve for menial labor. For that reason, there are no slaves in Khelt.

Citzens may leave Khelt if they wish, but this revokes their citizenship and birthrights. They may return to Khelt, but all immigrants (not only former emigrants) are required to bring something worthwhile into the Kingdom.<ref name="6.55K"/>

== Trivia ==

* Khelt is ''technically'' at war with about six Terandrian Kingdoms.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/12/06/interlude-the-innkeepers-knight/ Interlude – The Innkeeper’s Knight]</ref>
While zombie villages aren't unheard of, there exists a famous one somewhere around [[Invrisil]] that stands out from the other ones. The reason for that is that these zombies haven't moved from this village. They guard their former home in death as they had in life.

No one knew why. But though adventuring teams had been sent and monsters had clashed with the undead, no one had been able to raze the village once and for all. There were simply too many zombies. With each death, a new one rose to join their ranks so while this village was small, there were hundreds or more than a thousand zombies hiding in the houses, or in winter in the snow.

Their abilities are even unlike most other zombies. They are even capable of reattaching their severed limbs and regenerate burned skin. While it is possible to kill them by disintegrating them or chopping them up into really small bits, to do that when countless more of them were attacking you is rather difficult.

Necromancers couldn’t control these strange zombies, and it was pointless to try and eradicate the bodies. They just kept reforming, making the dead villagers and victims over the years into a truly immortal force. And if it were just zombies it would be fine but there were Ghouls as well.

As such no one goes there. There was too much overwhelming death. That was the consensus among Goblins and Humans. The village of the dead was a beehive waiting to be disturbed. And once it was, it would consume whomever was foolish enough to trespass here.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/3-31-g/ Chapter 3.31 G]</ref>

According to [[Niers Astoragon]], the village was made deliberately, and crafted to break an army.<ref name=":0">[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/04/25/8-18-h/ Chapter 8.18 H]</ref>

The '''Blade of Mershi''' is a Relic-class Artefact from a bygone era. It is currently owned by [[Lehra Ruinstrider]].

==Appearance==
The artifact is a single vambrace made of starmetal that is like silver, with a glittering jewel that is as black as night, with tiny glitters like the celestial bodies in the center.<ref name=":The Tribes of Izril">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/11/25/interlude-the-tribes-of-izril/ Interlude – The Tribes of Izril]</ref>

==Overview==
The Blade of Mershi, which is contained in the magical gauntlet, is the last relic of the Walled City of Stars, a long-lost Drake city, and it was used to belong to the legendary heroine, Mershi. It is relic-class weapon, or perhaps, so some believed, a key clue to greater treasures still, which is the fabled [[Forge of the Star Dragon]], an artifact or perhaps treasury of power from the Dragon Ancestors of Drakes.<ref name=":The Tribes of Izril" />

==Enchantments==

===='''Bearer Chooser'''====
The Artefact is able to choose who can use and activate its Enchantments. Those not chosen will not be able to use it. It is unknown what the conditions to be chosen by it are. It is activated by rising the arm that it is worn on, and shouting the activation phrase;<ref name=":The Tribes of Izril" />

<blockquote>'''''“In the name of the City of Stars!”'''''</blockquote>

It is currently unknown if it has or needs a deactivating phrase.

===='''Armor Conjuring'''====
By shouting the activation phrase, the Artefact and bearer will glow in an instance light as it conjures and covers its bearer in the same starmetal armor as the vambrace. The armor consist of a smooth, segmented Drake’s armor, complete with a headpiece and a tailpiece.<ref name=":The Tribes of Izril" />

===='''Weapons Conjuring'''====
In its active state the bearer can manifested a spear, sword and shield. The spear can pierce a high magical barrier.<ref name=":The Tribes of Izril" />

===='''Durability'''====
The Vambrace Artefact, and its Conjuring Armor and Weapons, are all made of a starmetal, a type of metal alloy that is like silver, but even more advanced than mithril as it breaks to nothing. The starmetal armor can block a Tier 5 lance of light spell without any effort.<ref name=":The Tribes of Izril" />

'''Drakes''' are humanoid dragon-like beings, and one of the [[races]] of Innworld. Though they are the distant descendants of the great [[Dragons]] of old, they only bear a distant resemblance to them, and, unlike them, they are mortal beings who can level. Some Drakes are descended from Wyrms rather than Dragons, but it is not clear what the distinction is.

== Physiology ==

=== Appearance ===
Like their draconic ancestors, Drakes possess sharp claws; if appropriately sharpened, they are tough enough to pierce [[Antinium]] carpace.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/14/3-23-l/ Chapter 3.23]</ref> Like Dragons', their necks are adorned with spines, which can bleach over time for certain individuals, similar to balding in humans.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/06/25/6-28/ Chapter 6.28]</ref> They also possess tails, the positioning of which is a large part of Drake body language.

Drakes have scales in varied colors from Green, Red, Pink, Blue, Yellow and Dark, and some have even coloration patterns. Drakes with Green scales are the most common, while scales very bright (like Red) or very dark are the least likely to be seen, especially without patterns, as they are rare. Even rarer are scales that have a bright glow, a unique flame coloration and a midnight black color.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/08/21/5-13/ Chapter 5.13]</ref>

Drakes bear a certain resemblance to [[Lizardfolk]], but it is a grievous ''faux pas'' to point this out to a Drake.

=== Lifespan ===
Drakes don’t live past seventy or eighty years on average. Nevertheless, with magic, one could live far longer. As long as a hundred and twenty years. Apparently some have even reached a hundred and forty, albeit by consuming numerous potions and using artifacts.<ref name="6.50 I">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/10/19/6-50-i/ Chapter 6.50 I]</ref>

=== Physical Abilities ===

=== Senses ===
* '''Smell:'''

* '''Sight:''' Drakes can see farther than humans. <ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2016/08/31/1-10/ Chapter 1.10]</ref>

=== Magical Abilities ===

=== Special Abilities ===

== Subraces ==
Drakes don't make a difference among each other based on scale colors like Humans are prone to. However, some Drakes are more magical, and can be regarded as subraces.
* [[Oldblood Drakes]] are more or less venerated as they share attributes of [[Dragons]], the ancestors of the Drakes: they are able to spit fire, acid or lightning or because they have wings and may even be able to fly.
* [[Scorchling|Scorchlings]] are of the same cloth as Oldbloods, but are regarded as cursed failures, given that their inherited traits are harming them. This shows in flaked-off scales or bad self-inflicted injuries when they try to breath fire.

== Behavior and Culture ==
The stereotypical Drakes are orderly people, readily obeying their own authorities, and sticking to their laws strictly. These laws are seemingly put into place to make a society possible at all, since Drakes also tend to be very possessive and unwilling to share what belongs to them. Other traits are that Drakes are immensely proud of their heritage (naming Dragons as their ancestors) and their culture. Naturally, not all Drakes follow such stereotypes, but a surprisingly large and vocal amount of them tries to enforce such traditions, making their overall culture somewhat unyielding and static.

If there was a ranking for "bad-tempered species", Drakes would probably be at the top of that list, competing for first place with [[Centaurs]] and [[Minotaurs]].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/03/03/1-03-d/ Chapter 1.03 D]</ref> There are various sayings about Drakes, like "''one Drake’s trouble, two is a fight, three will burn your house down, and four means war''"<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/06/09/4-44-m/ Chapter 4.44 M]</ref> or "''if the world was destroyed and there was only dust left, Drakes would fight over who had the most dust''"<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/09/01/5-16-s/ Chapter 5.16 S]</ref>, which respectively describes the aggressive and greedy stereotypes of Drakes.

=== Environmental preferences ===
Drakes like dry climate, enjoy the sun, and open spaces.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/08/20/1-07/ Chapter 1.07]</ref> When it comes to choosing their home, however, Drakes prefer to settle behind safe and large Walls.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/08/12/3-03/ Chapter 3.03]</ref>

=== Childhood ===
Very young Drakes like to bite everything they can fit their mouths around.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/08/2-35/ Chapter 2.42]</ref> Later, they enter into a hoarding phase, when they can't share anything with others and even take other people's stuff (like the toys of fellow children). Even as adults, Drakes may retain that strong hoarding instinct.

=== Customs ===
Drakes have many customs regarding their tails. They consider their tails to be private body parts, and it is considered erotic to touch a drake's tail.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/04/17/side-story-mating-rituals/ Side Story – Mating Rituals]</ref> Another Drake tradition revolving around tails, is in regards to their marriage customs: proposal among drakes is done by placing a ring around the tail of the drake they wish to marry.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/04/22/2-16/ Chapter 2.16]</ref>

=== Prejudices and Superstitions ===

=== Language ===
Drakes speak "common" (Earth's modern English) but have a distinct script that is different from the Latin alphabet that Humans are using. Learning to read that script has been reported as rather easy.

=== Clothing Habits ===
Most Drakes wear ancient-Greek style togas or robes. Some of them wear sarongs, though likely only female ones.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2016/10/16/1-21/ Chapter 1.21]</ref>

Some of the male Drakes wear rather little clothing, sometimes leaving their chests completely bare save for a light cloak. Female ones usually had more on.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2016/09/14/1-14/ Chapter 1.14]</ref>

=== Sexuality ===
The traditionalist Drake society is somewhat sexist or at least paternalistic with regards to partner choices: Female Drakes, especially young ones, are regarded as not fit for marriage outside of their species and suggesting otherwise makes huge scandalous waves. Meanwhile male Drakes choosing a non-Drake partner are much more accepted.

As gender-intended symbols, Drakes use a straight tail for men and a curly tail for women.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/12/07/1-30/ Chapter 1.30]</ref>

A large taboo among Drakes is homosexuality, at least in [[Pallass]]ian circles. The term ''"Turnscale"'' is a derogatory term for homosexuals among Drakes<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/09/04/5-18-s/ Chapter 5.18 S]</ref>. [Guardspeople] violently crack down on the private affairs of "Turnscales" and displays of same-gender affection are widely regarded as offensive to Drakedom itself.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/03/03/interlude-dancing-and-brawling/ Interlude - Dancing and Brawling]</ref> Even if those who say so are a vocal minority, they have driven queers - including transgender - into the criminal underworld.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/04/12/7-17-s/ Chapter 7.17 S]</ref>

== History ==

== Relations ==

=== [[Lizardfolk]] ===
Many if not most Drakes do not like [[Lizardfolk]] at all, possibly due to their resemblance. Drakes are mammals and see themselves as superior when compared with egglaying Lizardfolk. Seeing how Drakes tend to be orderly, proud and often grumpy, they loathe the super-social, talkative nature of Lizardfolk. The other way around, Lizardfolk seem to be aware of the animosity towards them, but find it funny.

"Lizard" is one of the ultimate insults towards Drakes, especially when uttered by non-Drakes. Non-Drakes who honestly confuse the two races should expect to be subject to stern lectures by Drakes.

=== [[Gnolls]] ===
Most Drakes officially accepted Gnolls in their cities as a large and helpful minority, given that there are much more Drakes in all of Southern Izril than Gnolls. Only rare Drake communities have up to a third of their population being Gnolls; one fifth or less is more common; and at some places there are lower percentages even.

While Gnolls are often subtly (or less subtly) discriminated against, most Drakes seem to be okay with accepting Gnolls as their equals in general. Nevertheless, Drake cities are usually governed entirely or mostly by Drakes, and interspecies marriage is frowned upon or derided by more traditional Drakes.

=== [[Humans]] ===
Humans had landed on their shores millennia ago, and the Drakes never forgave the land they had ceded to them. Drakes always considered them a threat and a foe. It was more of a bad rivalry now, as neither side did more than send armies to the [[Blood Fields]] each year to kill each other. But give them half a chance and the Drakes would happily invade the north, while the Humans would do the same.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/04/07/4-26-m/ Chapter 4.26 M]</ref>

There were quite a few Drakes who’d decided to live in Human lands, for all they were actively discouraged from doing so by the Drake cities. But while they hadn’t invaded each other in decades, the Humans and Drakes were still nominally at war. If a Drake [General] led his soldiers past [[Liscor]], or a Human [Lord] moved past the [[Blood Fields]], it might start a war again.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/06/19/4-47/ Chapter 4.47]</ref>

=== [[Dullahans]], [[Garuda]] and others ===
Both the [[Chandrar]]ian race of the Garuda, the [[Baleros]]ian race of the Dullahans and the [[Terandria]]n race of the [[Dwarves]] are just minorities in Southern Izril. Multicultural Pallass has a larger population of the first two, but this is probably due to them standing out even in the [[Walled Cities]].

=== [[Antinium]] ===

=== [[Goblins]] ===

=== Relations with other races ===

== Trivia ==
* Like Dragons, they ''really'' love shiny objects.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/05/24/2-23/ Chapter 2.23]</ref>
* Drakes usually don't consider Humans attractive, describing them as too ''fleshy''.
* Kebabs are the favorite food of Drakes.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/12/05/3-35/ Chapter 3.35]</ref>
* ''The Triumph of Scales'' is a classic Drake military book.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/06/16/4-46/ Chapter 4.46]</ref>
* Drakes don’t have that many mages. They don’t take to magic as some other species do. They say it’s dishonorable, too easy—not military.<ref name=":Pt.4">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/06/26/s02-the-antinium-wars-pt-4/ S02 – The Antinium Wars (Pt.4)]</ref>

'''Classes''' are a function that exists within the System that governs [[Innworld]].

== Background ==
A Class is something that represents a hobby or profession. As you gain levels in a class, you will gain new [[Skills]], enabling you to do things that you would not be able to do normally. Leveling and gaining a class relies on mentality - if you are convinced that you cannot cook, or you do not find cooking to be important, for example, it is unlikely that you will ever gain a [[Cooking (skill)|[Basic Cooking]]] skill, regardless of your actual skill in cooking - an example of this can be seen with [[Erin Solstice]]'s lack of the [Tactician] class, despite her skill in chess.

The majority of people reach Level 20 in at least one class over the course of their lives. Much less individuals manage to reach Level 30; A handful in each town; a few dozen in a city. Few people ever reach Level 40, and they tend to be quite famous. People who have reached Level 50 or above are generally known throughout the world.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/07/04/2-34/ Chapter 2.41]</ref> '' ''Individuals capable of shaking the world reached Level 60. As for 70, that's where legends were born.<ref name=":6.11">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/04/27/6-11/ Chapter 6.11]</ref>

There is a hierarchy among classes. In the case of classes that are able to influence people, the best ones are capable of influencing even entire kingdoms; among those are royal classes, such as [King], [Queen], [Princess], etc.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/14/3-23-l/ Chapter 3.23 L]</ref>

Not all those who have the same class are the same, as they pursue different goals their skills and classes reflect that. As an example for the [King] Class is, those who sit upon thrones and pursue peace, under their rule crops grow mightily, and their people rest under an aegis of protection, while Kings who pursues war, will lead the people into battle, not replenish the land or rebuild.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2018/01/09/4-01-k/ Chapter 4.01 K]</ref>

== Leveling ==
"Once of course, all races fought with tooth and claw and magic, but then they divided. Those who decided to forsake their natures and pursue a different truth received the gift of [Leveling], while those creatures who stayed true to their nature kept the might of their natures instead."<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/08/20/1-07/ Chapter 1.07]</ref>

“All those that Think—Feel. From Feeling do we Act. It is in Action that<nowiki> </nowiki>we Level. All those who Think have a Class. And it is in that Class which we find destiny.” (Book of Levels).<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/09/25/1-17/ Chapter 1.17]</ref>

While [[Dragons]] think and feel, but do not level,<ref>https://wanderinginn.com/2020/02/04/interlude-queens-and-dragons/</ref> it is unknown why this is so.

Leveling comes from learning, and trials. Those who consistently do the same will not level. More importantly, Classes are based on what a person pursues. In Erin's case, by regarding chess solely as a game, in contrast to someone who considers tactical applications, like in warfare, she won't level, no matter how good she is. <ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/11/16/1-27/ Chapter 1.27]</ref>

The voice that announces the gained levels is speaking a universal language that can be understood by everyone.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/04/06/6-05-d/ Chapter 6.05 D]</ref>

[[Ivolethe]] refers to the system as a "thing of dead gods".<ref>https://wanderinginn.com/2017/06/11/2-29/</ref>

== [[Skills]] ==
Not everybody with the same class gets the same skills. It depends on what the person ''needs ''and ''desires ''for the system to decide which skills to hand out.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/11/16/1-27/ Chapter 1.27]</ref>

Every 10 levels one will receive a rare Skill.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/25/2-17/ Chapter 2.18]</ref>

== Class Change ==
It is possible for classes to receive a different name later on. One reason for a change could be due to a specialisation in a certain field. A [Warrior], for instance, might decide to solely focus on using a specific weapon, like a spear, which might result in them becoming a [Spearmaster] after reaching a high enough level. Another reason could be a simple advancement, one example would be a [Tactician] becoming a [Strategist]. That said, depending on the skills, a person's class might never change, no matter how high it is.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/11/16/1-27/ Chapter 1.27]</ref>

=== Known Changes: ===

==== Specialization: ====
* [Tactician] → [Leader] or [General]
* [Warrior] → [Spearmaster], [Swordslayer], [Knight], [Vanguard], [General], [Bannerman]/[Bannerlady]
* [Skeleton Warrior] → [Skeleton Knight]
* [Lord] → [King], [Queen]
* [Bandit] → [Bandit Lord]
* [Scout] → [Veteran Scout]
* [Mage] → [Elementalist] → [Cryomancer] (This is only one of the many paths a mage may take)

==== Advancement: ====
* [Tactician] → [Strategist] (Usually either at Level 30 [Tactician] or Level 20 [Tactician] combined a military rank like a Level 10 [Sergeant]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/05/17/4-36-o/ Chapter 4.36 O]</ref>) → [Grandmaster Strategist]
* [Queen] → [Supreme Matriarch]
* [Carer] → [Governess]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/14/3-23-l/ Chapter 3.23 L]</ref>
* [Flailmaster] → [Iron Tempest]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/26/3-27-m/ Chapter 3.27 M]</ref>
* [Innkeeper] → [Magical Innkeeper]
* [Acolyte] → [Priest]

=== Removal: ===
Classes can be removed and given. Doing so is not easy, but can be done by a [King] or other [Ruler]-type class.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/01/27/4-06-km/ Chapter 4.06 KM]</ref> A notable class removal and change was when [Emperor] Laken removed Prost's [Farmer], [Builder], and [Trader] classes by making him a [Steward].<ref>https://wanderinginn.com/2018/03/20/4-20-e/</ref>

=== Losing Classes: ===
It is possible to lose a class, if one no longer qualify for the class, does something that goes against the class, in short failing the class condition. For example the [Hero] class can be lost if one is no longer a hero, as this class is reliant on public perception and knowing what made one lose it can be difficult.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/25/1-00-c/ Chapter 1.00 C]</ref> Geneva was sure she'd lose her [Doctor] class if she were to break her oath. It is unknown if this is true and if it applies only to her.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/14/1-01-d/ Chapter 1.01 D]</ref>

A [King] that no longer consider himself a [King], stops acting as a [King] and people stop thinking about him as a [King], can lose the class with all the skills associated with it.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/09/29/5-24-l/ Chapter 5.24 L]</ref> If one were to again qualify for the class one can regain the lost levels and skills.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/10/06/5-26-l/ Chapter 5.26 L]</ref>

It is also possible to experience a Class change in place of losing of class. A [King] that abdicates his throne is no longer a [King]. Therefore the [King] class is lost, however the person can gain a [Former King]-type of class. This change will result in the loss of some (or all) skills, depending on the skills. What level the new class starts on is unknown.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/04/30/6-12-k/ Chapter 6.12 K]</ref>

==== Horror Ranks ====
[[Horror Ranks]] are classes which may be gained by doing the most terrible of deeds. They cannot be earned any other way. They are not real classes either, as they are born of despair and filth.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2018/01/27/4-06-km/ Chapter 4.06 KM]</ref>

It is also possible to lose a class and its skills by obtaining and leveling up a Horror Rank. While one does not lose their class and skills from the start, as the Horror Rank increases in level, one's class levels will decrease and skills will be lost,<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/09/27/3-17-t/ Chapter 3.17 T]</ref> until the class is completely lost. It is currently unknown if losing the Horror Ranks will restore one's class levels and skills, or not.
== Class Merging ==
It is possible for two classes to merge to create a new, hybrid class. For instance, a [Warrior] and a [Strategist] class may merge to form a [Commander] class. Class merging is rare, and it may require enough levels in both classes and/or fulfilling rare conditions. <br>It is even regarded a secret, seemingly an important one, as royal families think it necessary to pass this information down to the next generation. Generally speaking, merged classes are better than ''normal'' ones.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/14/3-23-l/ Chapter 3.23 L]</ref>

It has been hinted that the [Maid] class can be combined with many other classes into hybrid classes, for example towards [Maid Mage], [Maid Fighter] or [Maid Assassin]. While it's possible this happens via specialization, a merge seems more likely.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/06/22/6-27-m/ Chapter 6.27 M]</ref>

=== Known Merges: ===
* [Warrior] + [Strategist] = [Commander]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/06/07/2-27/ Chapter 2.33]</ref>
* [Warrior] + [Rider] = [Dragoon]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/06/14/2-03-g/ Chapter 2.36 G]</ref>
* [Leader] + [Scavenger] + [Tinkerer] = [Chieftain]
* (Royal classes, such as [Lord], [Princess])<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/14/3-23-l/ Chapter 3.23 L]</ref>
* [Blademaster] =
* [Princess] + [Warrior] + [Barmaid] + [Beast Tamer] + [Carer] + [Tactician] = [Worldly Princess]
* [Gardener] + [Beast Tamer] + [Mage] = [Druid]

== Cultural differences ==
The name of the same Class can vary depending on the culture. For example, a [Warrior] could be a [Fighter] in a different culture.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/11/02/1-02-r/ Chapter 1.02 R]</ref>

=== Known Cases: ===
* [Warrior] - [Fighter]
* [Knight] - [Axemaster]
* [Cryomancer] - [Ice Mage]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/06/30/s03-wistram-days-pt-1/ S03 – Wistram Days (Pt. 1)]</ref>

== Limits ==
Ryoka has speculated that there is a hard level cap or soft cap of 100. That theory has been supported by Klbkch's review of several hundred individuals with high levels, whose cumulative level rarely approaches one hundred.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/07/11/2-36/ Chapter 2.43] </ref> Furthermore, that research has shown that individuals with more than two well-leveled classes rarely surpass Level 30

== Problems ==
People have become in certain areas narrow-minded due to the system. If one does something without having a class in that area, one already expects to be a failure in it.

== List of Classes ==
See [[List of Classes|here]].

== Trivia ==
* '''The Book of Levels''', a book that was originally written nearly a thousand years ago, is part of the education of any child, which teaches them the essence of leveling.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/09/25/1-17/ Chapter 1.17]</ref>
* It was hinted by the [[Faeries]] that the system was created by the Gods.
* Some people worship levels instead of Gods. In some places leveling is preached and those with the highest level are even worshiped. Also, some speculate that each person has a maximum level , and when that level is reached, then they have also reached the end of their life.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2016/11/16/1-27/ Chapter 1.27]</ref>
* A person gets a better-than-average skill at Level 20.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/04/25/1-00-c/ Chapter 1.00 C]</ref>
* In [[Izril]], once a person gets past Level 30, they becomes approximately one of a thousand on the continent. Their skills become in such high demand that they earn'' ''much'' ''more money than anyone else. Anyone with a class that involves managing land or selling or buying goods can earn thousands of gold coins each month.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/04/22/2-16/ Chapter 2.17]</ref>
* Usually almost everyone reaches Level 20 before they die.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/04/25/2-17/ Chapter 2.18]</ref> An exception to the rule is the [Mage] class. People possessing that class ''rarely'' reach even Level 20, which is the result of a lack of a centralized education.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/01/04/1-34/ Chapter 1.34]</ref>
* Those that manage to reach Level 30 usually need decades to do so.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/05/01/1-03-d-2/ Chapter 1.03 C]</ref>
* In regards to the leveling speed, Selys once stated that if she had started training with the sword at a young age, she would have likely been now a Level 12 [Warrior]. However, if she were to start pursuing the path only now, when she is already 20-ish years old, it would probably take her 10 years to reach Level 20. That said, if she were a soldier fighting on the front lines, it would perhaps only take a year or two, which, of course, would be much more dangerous.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/12/2-10/ Chapter 2.09]</ref>
* Classes don't always start from level 1. For instance, when Erin receives the [Singer] class, she is immediately started at level 6,<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/22/2-16/ Chapter 2.17]</ref> and when Selys receives the [Heiress] class, she starts at level 4.
* Some classes dictate the way people look. [Mages], for instance, tend to look younger and thinner, while [Farm Workers] will have a stronger build. That isn't to say that one's appearance keeps changing with every class one receives. The deciding factor is usually which class was gained ''first''. <ref name=":4.17">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/02/27/4-17/ Chapter 4.17]</ref> But it may just be a consequence of the lifestyle of the people who have those Classes (since [Farmers] work the fields and [Mages] burn calories when using magic). That said, some Classes can bring drastic changes to a person which overrule their previous appearance, this can be achieved through Skills like when Garia gained [Weight Control] or some physical changes intrinsic to the Class, like Yvlon's [Silversteel Armsmistress] giving her metallic arms. Lady Wuvren's Class, [Eternal Beauty] keeps her young despite her advanced age, though the exact mechanics involved aren't known yet.
* Most people don’t gain their classes until they turn fourteen.<ref name="6.59">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/11/23/6-59/ Chapter 6.59]</ref>
* The '''Time of Grandeur''' is a name that the [[Nobility]] of Izril and Terandria came up with to refer to those who reached Level 50.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/11/18/7-59/ Chapter 7.59]</ref>
