Before he was known as "The Necromancer" and still went by the name of Perril Chandler, he studied at [[Wistram]].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/11/14/wistram-days-pt-5/ Wistram Days (Pt.5)]</ref> While he emulated his teachers, he was also dismayed at poor innovative students. He was even teaching there, and called [[Zelkyr]] a friend.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/10/22/6-51-a/ 6.51 A]</ref>

A century ago, he slew [[Kerash]], the beloved Chieftain of the [[Gnolls]] whom some had labeled the first ‘King of Gnolls’. For killing him, the Gnolls dubbed the Necromancer as Az’kerash (‘Slayer of Kerash’).

For over a century, he plagued [[Terandria]], by leading armies of death against the living. He would destroy and despoil kingdoms, his undead armies beaten back only after much effort and then disappear before he could be slain, returning after years or sometimes decades, sometimes even faking his demise. When he returned again, he was stronger each time.

After the second Antinium War had started, the [[Az’kerash|Necromancer Az’kerash]] led a massive army against the port-Kingdom of [[Desonis]], where he quickly overwhelmed the kingdom’s army but did not approach the capital. Rather, he seized a local port and departed for [[Izril]].

''While his intentions for invading Izril were never revealed, [[Pisces]] believes that his aim were the walls of the [[Walled Cities]], as Pisces supposes they contain [[Dragons|Dragon]] bones.''

In his invasion of Izril, the Necromancer clashed with the army of the [[Velan|Goblin King]] before approaching Liscor. He besieged the city which was however quickly relieved by [[Zel Shivertail]]. After three months, the ruinous and increasingly desperate siege was lifted when an [[Antinium]] army under [[Klbkch]] came to Liscor's help. Zel Shivertail himself assailed the Necromancer's position and tore Az'kerash in two pieces. The Undead army was swept up in the aftermath. (See: [[Necromancer's Siege of Liscor]])

However, Az'kerash had once again only pretended his death at Zel's hands, likely with illusions and/or a necromantic construct that replaced him in battle.

While Zel and the majority of Izril's population was convinced of Chandler's death, he had in fact survived. At some point, he settled down in the [[Blood Fields]], where his huge castle is located. It houses his numerous undead servants. Although the castle is very large, no one, aside from a handful of people, is aware of its existence, as he cast a powerful veil around his domain. There he strengthens his army and is waiting for the time to unleash his legions upon the continent again.

Eight years before the main story started, he or one of his many undead constructs posed as a [Merchant] and went to a Drake village, bringing a wagon laden with goods and asking for news. There he met a [[Reiss|Hobgoblin]] under illusion spells that intrigued him.<ref name=":5.50 G">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/12/29/5-50-g/ Chapter 5.50 G]</ref> Az’kerash saw that the Hob could read<ref name=":4.46">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/06/16/4-46/ Chapter 4.46]</ref> as well. That night, he attacked the Drake village with a horde of undead, slaughtered the Drakes and cornered the Hobgoblin and fought him.

After defeating the Hob, Az’kerash offered him the choice of serving him in life or serving him in death. The Hob chose to live, and so he became his apprentice.<ref name=":5.50 G" /> Az’kerash then started training him, by giving him spellbooks and scrolls to read,<ref name=":4.46" /> so that he could make him his own Goblin King and use him as a weapon to strike the living with.<ref name=":5.50 G" />

One of his servants, [[Venitra]] regularly briefed him on the situation as it unfolded, but the Necromancer decided not to interfere in the Drake's petty squabbles, just sweep up the fallen after the battle as future resources. Ryoka broke through that veil, followed by [[Periss Veldant|Periss]] who was slain together with her Elite Soldiers by the Undead. Ryoka could run straight towards Az'kerash's study where he - his main consciousness still occupied with the Undead creation spell - stopped her with a [Sticky Webbing] and a [Silent Sicle] spell. He reprimanded Venitra and dismissed her, then dealt with Ryoka himself, commending her for coming this far.

As he then learned she was a [Courier] sent from Teriarch to him, he relieved her of the package and revealed to Ryoka that the [[Dragons|Dragon]] had sent him a birthyear greeting and a considerably minor artifact: an original ring enchanted with warding and movement spells in the Silvarian dueling fashion.

Supposing that it would not do to kill one of Teriarch messengers, he lets her go afterwards.<ref name="2.30" /> A week later, he finished his new undead creation, and woke from his focussed trance, ready to give orders on collecting fresh material for his next creations, of which he states to need at least six, and fourteen would be ideal. Still, he stated to work under time constraints. When Venitra reported to him the incident with Ryoka, Az'kerash became furious that the messanger escaped alive to tell of his location: Spilling the knowledge of his current abode could undo a decade of preparation and force him to act. So he tasked Venitra together with [[Ijvani]] to track Ryoka down and kill her along with everybody who knew of his castle - unless the Runner has kept confidential about it, in which case he expected Venitra to either call him but use her own judgement he was similarly occupied with a creation again.

After she left, Az'kerash considered that he was ready for a war, if the need arose; but if not he would have yet more time to prepare. A few day later, he contacted the Goblin Lord to give him his orders. Then he asked him why he keeps the [[Osthia Blackwing|Drake]], as that while she is an [[Oldblood Drakes|Oldblood]], as a useful corpse, she was not. Upon hearing that he is using her as a spy for information, he told him with a voice filled with scorn that he already has all the information required, and that he does not need spies, only magic.

Then he remind him of his orders to go past Liscor and reclaim [[Mountain City Tribe|the Goblins]] in the [[Dwarfhalls Rest|mountain]], by taming their [[Tremborag|leader]], so that he could build his forces and wreak havoc among the Human lands. He also told him to become a Goblin King if he is able, and If not, then die cursing his weaknesses.

He then told him that he has his [[Venitra|trusted]] [[Ijvani|servants]] in Liscor, and that their tasks must not be compromised, as they have been occupied there for a long time, gathering information. Upon hearing this, the Goblin Lord started laugh and told him that his servants were not in Liscor for a long time, as he had met them a week ago, as they were lost and could not find Liscor.

Hearing this, Az’kerash said that he will reprimand his servants and thanked the Goblin Lord for telling him. Before vanishing, he told him to go north as he had told him, and burn the cities as he passes, while leave the strong ones undefended. == Background ==
Mrsha is a young Gnoll, born to two warriors in the [[Stone Spears Tribe]].<ref>[[Chapter 2.23]]</ref> She quickly bonds with [[Ryoka Griffin|Ryoka]] who passes through the tribe for [[Teriarch]]'s delivery. Ryoka returns from her delivery to find the tribe in a panic, as Mrsha is now missing.<ref>[[Chapter 2.28]]</ref> After Ryoka learns that the [[Frost Faeries]] know where Mrsha is, [[Urksh]], leader of the Stone Spears, pledges "any price" to gain the knowledge of where Mrsha is, and the Frost Faeries lead Ryoka to discover Mrsha.

Mrsha is found in a crevasse in the mountaintop, having been chased there by a goblin. She is rescued by Ryoka, but encounters the Goblin army on their return to the tribe. Once again, Urksh makes a bargain with the Forst Faeries, to "offer everything" for the protection of Mrsha.<ref name=":0" />

The flowers have a yellow-golden color. They have a spicy smell, instead of a floral one. The nectar fizzes on the tongue. People with a magical sense can feel the flowers being magical<ref name="2.23" />, which means they are probably [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioaccumulation bioaccumulators] for [[Mana|mana]], similar to [[Sage’s Grass]].

Erin received the Faerie Flowers during her first winter as payment for hosting a [[Chapter 2.21|Faerie Banquet]].<ref name="2.21" /> She planted them together with Ceria soon afterwards, hoping to still make profit from the economic disaster that came from said festivity.<ref name="2.23" /> The Faeries begrudgingly allowed Erin to keep the Flowers, having expected her to throw the Flowers away in frustration, as is the traditional human reaction, but ultimately decided the Flowers were fairly given and they could not be taken back.

Lyonette forgot to water the Flowers during Erin's long absence in the winter, ruining most of them. She was however able to rescue the rest, burning the wilted ones for use in acquiring Ashfire bee honey.

Mrsha later took over watering the plants as part of her household duties, becoming a [Gardener] and later a [Druid] from continuing this line of work.

Xif forcibly purchased a single Faerie Flower from Erin for 220 gold pieces.<ref name="6.38" />

Lyon's personality has changed dramatically over the course of the story. At the beginning, she was overly dramatic, lazy, spoiled and rude. She has no qualms stealing from 'peasants.'

Since being taken in by Erin though, she's slightly more inclined to work, for the sake of leveling. Although she dislikes the [Barmaid] [[Classes|class]] because it is a class used by peasants, she loves leveling.

She initially abhors anything that isn't human, excluding [[Mrsha]]. After [[Erin Solstice|Erin]] left [[Liscor]] and she was left alone, she overcame her fear of the [[Antinium]] and became friends with [[Pawn]].

Feeling useless at her home in Terandria, she ran away and booked a passage to Izril. After having arrived there, she had to escape from various monsters and with no food or money had to struggle not to starve to death.<ref name=":2" />

Lyonette came to Liscor with one of the caravans, though probably without their knowledge, that traveled there after having heard about the new discovered dungeon. As she had no money, she stole food and clothes, with the assistance of her magical artifacts, in order to survive. Eventually, [[Krshia Silverfang|Krshia and]] several other Gnoll merchants used Krshia's stall to bait her. Although they succeeded in catching her, it also resulted in the destruction of Krshia's stall, and more importantly, in the destruction of various spellbooks that were collected by the [[Silverfang Tribe]], ruining their work of the last decade.

As Liscor's Watch was wary of executing a possibly noble-born or the child of an important figure. As a result, the child was exiled from Liscor without any proper resources.

[[Selys]], a friend of [[Erin Solstice|Erin]], struck a bargain with [[Pisces]]. In exchange for notifying Erin of the Princess' situation, Selys will make Pisces a Bronze-Ranked Adventurer. Lyonette's early interactions with Erin are mostly hostile. As a [Princess], she refuses to take Erin's offer on being an employee seriously, and is either intentionally hostile or incompetent in performing the tasks of a barmaid. However, her perspective drastically changes after Erin is pulled away to meet Magnolia and she is left alone in the inn. By the time Erin returns, Lyonette has mastered the basic skills of running the inn and gains newfound respect for all that Erin does.<ref>[[Chapter 3.32]]</ref> While Erin's initial reaction to her skills was skepticism and criticism, after a tongue-lashing by Zel, the two reconcile.

After Erin hires [[Ishkr]], [[Drassi]], [[Safry]], and [[Maran]], Lyonette undergoes struggles to maintain control of the inn. She frequently clashed with Safry and Maran, human barmaids from Celum who do not respect the Drakes and Gnolls of the inn. During the disastrous expedition into the [[Ruins of Liscor]], Ceria and [[Olesm]] manage to survive in a stone coffin while the undead rampage moves towards Liscor. Her arm atrophies to skeletal remains in her attempt to stop [[Skinner]]. They are eventually rescued by Erin, Ryoka and Pisces, and Ceria stays at the Wandering Inn afterwards. She reforms the Horns of Hammerad with her as the captain and the only old member, but convinces [[Yvlon Byres]], [[Pisces]] and [[Ksmvr]] to join her.

Under her as a captain, the Horns of Hammerad discover a new location in the [[Ruins of Albez]] and get out with a considerable treasure, although only a fracture of what had been guarded by a Flame Golem. Ryoka runs the looted items to [[Invrisil]] to get them identified, and returns with one item sold for considerable magical gear that should bring the reformed Horns to ''Gold Rank''. However, the adventuring guilds require proof that the Horns are at Gold level. They do several more quests mostly around Liscor and Esthelm, but the group stagnates somewhat and is regularly outdone by the Gold Rank teams which frequent the Wandering Inn.

Eventually, Erin gets the [[Pallass|Pallassian]] mage [[Grimalkin]] to evaluate the Horns of Hammerad. The [Sinew Magus] spells out for Ceria that aside from her actual adventures, she has been complacent and didn't train enough; and he advises a rigorous training regimen for her.

Ceria's relationship with Pisces is long and complex. They first meet on the boat to Wistram Academy, where Pisces is one of the few people who does not take immediate prejudice to Ceria's half-elf nature.<ref name="Wistr Pt.1">[[S03 – Wistram Days (Pt.1)]]</ref> During their time at Wistram, the two grow very close, studying together and helping each other to gain magical abilities. However, the revelation of Pisces' [Necromancer] class alienates Ceria, and she stops talking to him for some time. Erin met her the first time after the death of [[Klbkch]], which was reason for Zevara to retract any protection from the Wandering Inn.

Zevara was then seen again in [[Skinner's Attack on Liscor]], when she led the scrambled defense after the [[Undead]] had already invaded the city. Her duty to protect the city let her stop Relc going after Skinner and fight Undead in the city even after Skinner had left for the Wandering Inn. Zevara then met Erin again in a debrief at the [[First Wandering Inn|Old Wandering Inn]] after the attack.

Just the next day, Zevara faced Erin and Ryoka after they had entered the [[Ruins of Liscor]] without permission. However, the appearance of [[Gazi]] changed the entire encounter and Gazi was only defeated by the collaboration of everyone present, including Zevara.

Three days later, when Erin was loudly yelling for Toren as she had lost her skeleton during the explosion and rebuilding of her inn just outside Zevara's jurisdiction, Zevara stepped in and told the noisy human to shut up.

Two days later, Zevara's authority was challenged again by the iPhone festival happening at the Wandering Inn, where she couldn't prevent the singing and dancing.

After [[Krshia]] captured Lyonette, it was decided that the human thief would be exiled instead of being executed. While Zevara was clearly involved in this decision, it was not shown directly and the political nature of the event meant that it also involved the enraged Gnoll community and the City Council.

Not many days later, Zevara had to break up a fight between Erin and her patrons, the Gnolls and two gold-rank adventuring teams at the Wandering Inn.<ref name="2.26" />
