Feeling useless at her home in Terandria, she ran away and booked a passage to Izril. After having arrived there, she had to escape from various monsters and with no food or money had to struggle not to starve to death.<ref name=":2" /> Lyonette came to Liscor with one of the caravans, though probably without their knowledge, that traveled there after having heard about the newly discovered dungeon. As she had no money, she stole food and clothes, with the assistance of her magical artifacts, in order to survive. Eventually, [[Krshia Silverfang|Krshia]] and several other Gnoll merchants used Krshia's stall to bait her. Although they succeeded in catching her, it also resulted in the destruction of Krshia's stall, and more importantly, in the destruction of various [[spellbooks]] that were collected by the [[Silverfang Tribe]], ruining their work of the last decade.<ref name=":5">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/05/07/2-20/ Chapter 2.20]</ref> Liscor's Watch was wary of executing a possibly noble-born or child of an important figure. While this was happening, he confided in her that he dreamed of being a [Knight], but that as a Gnoll it was difficult for him to attain the class. When she thought that no one was listening, Lyonette turned away and knighted him with a whisper. Geneva is best described as ''intense''. Anything she does she will commit 200% effort. Geneva isn't afraid or disgusted by blood. She heals, to the best of her abilities and equipment, anyone and everyone who comes to her looking for medical assistance, even if it's an enemy. However, she often overworks herself to the point that her body would have collapsed if it wasn't inhabited by a Selphid. She can also be singleminded, unable to focus on anything else or consider other potential options. She appeared on the continent of [[Baleros]], and to make ends meet, enlisted in the [[Raverian Fighters]] Company. She would serve in the 6th squad of the 4th Battalion, led by [Sergeant] [[Thriss]]. Their company was to fight against the [[Burning March Company]] as well as a centaur clan and some mercenaries while the Raverian Fighters were supporting the [[Magehammer Company]]. Before they could make it to any battles, they were ambushed by centaurs and Geneva had to perform her first impromptu surgery on a squad-mate named [[Clara]]. Through this and an earlier test, Geneva gained four levels in [Doctor]. After the company witnessed this, she was given more responsibility and even approached by others with nagging issues. The true test for her started though when the centaurs ambushed their company again this time killing nobody, but instead destroying the healing potions that the Raverian Fighters were carrying with them.<ref name="1.00 D" />

The fighting began in earnest and Geneva was the only hope of healing for her battalion of over 600 soldiers. Geneva could not save almost any of the patients that she came across during the first day of battle. The only one that she saved was a disabled [[Selphids|selphid]] named [[Okasha]] from the Burning March Company. Okasha couldn't rejoin the fight due to her disability, but she did join Geneva as a medical assistant. From there, Geneva continued to level and implement better strategies. She set up a triaging system to prioritize saveable soldiers at the cost of the fury of her friends and the friends of others that she couldn't save. She even saved an enemy soldier that was brought in and from then on began using the symbol of the red cross. Geneva became famous for tending to patients regardless of who they fought for - this led to enemies calling off their attacks when they saw Geneva. One of these enemies almost killed her after shooting down Okasha. He came forward to speak with Geneva after calling off the attack and was murdered by Thriss. Misinterpreting this as Geneva being a traitor, Thriss struck her in the back permanently paralyzing Geneva. Her only salvation was Okasha who ran Thriss through with a sword, killing him. She also took partial control of Geneva's body using a forbidden selphid technique to keep her alive albeit reliant on Okasha.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/14/1-01-d/ Chapter 1.01 D]</ref>

So she became a runner around the southernmost cities of the human part of Izril.

Her sudden appearance, her barefoot running and her becoming the fastest city runner around Remendia and Wales attracted the attention of several people, including [[Magnolia Reinhart]], who tried to gather information from Ryoka but failed to even guess her homelands. That made Magnolia even more determined on interrogating Ryoka, who was severely injured after being bullied by 'fellow' runner [[Persua]].<ref>[https://thewanderinginn.fandom.com/wiki/Chapter_1.03_R Chapter 1.03 R]</ref> Magnolia offered her to take her to a healer, knowing that fixing the broken leg would costs hundreds of gold coins.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2016/11/23/1-05-r/ Chapter 1.05 R]</ref> However, Ryoka had recently made the acquintance of the [[Horns of Hammerad]], who could help her out by taking her to [[Liscor]], where she met [[Ceria Springwalker|Ceria's]] former co-student [[Pisces]]. He healed Ryoka for only 40 gold coins, much less than a high-level healer would have charged for a [Restoration] spell.<ref name=":Chapter 1.06 R" />

Ryoka was then blocked by the Runner's guild until she would agree to meeting Magnolia again, which Ryoka staunchly refused. Desperate again and disgusted of herself, Ryoka set out past Liscor for the [[Bloodfields]], but couldn't find anything there... except the willpower to run back to Liscor and search for her (hopefully) friends, if they would even have her after the bad impression she left with them. Ryoka was totally crushed to learn that the Horns of Hammerad utterly perished in their expedition into the [[Ruins of Liscor]] just days earlier.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/03/04/1-45/ Chapter 1.45]</ref>

Just in that situation, Ryoka got an invitation to a [[Interlude - 1|magical Group Chat]] and learned that she is by far not the only [[Earthworlders|person from Earth]] stuck in this foreign world, and that there are other groups, either meaning ill or well, who are after them, probably for their secret knowledge. This group chat changed Ryoka's entire outlook, since she now knew she needs to cooperate with others and prevent the worst. After Ryoka recovered from that discovery in an inn on the wayside, the [Innkeeper] [[Erin Solstice]] revealed that she is from Earth as well.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/03/12/2-01/ Chapter 2.00]</ref>

Ryoka impressed on Erin to keep their secret about their common origins. That same day, winter started, and Ryoka, trying to earn them more money, eventually left [[Liscor]] to make more serious preparations for her run into the south. She first turned north, pestered by [[Frost Faeries]], and found the [Alchemist] [[Octavia]] in [[Celum]],<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/09/2-09/ Chapter 2.08]</ref> from whom she ordered some potions, including a stink potion which she used to get to Teriarch again. On her return to Liscor, she met two Couriers, [[Valceif Godfrey|Val]] and [[Hawk]], the first of whom helped Ryoka to fight against the memory block with which Teriarch hid from Ryoka that he is in fact a mighty dragon. Ryoka made a second attempt to complete her delivery to Az'kerash soon after, but was harrassed for over a week by Frost Faeries until she was rescued from an avalanche by [[Mrsha]], a young [[Gnolls|Gnoll]] from the [[Stone Spears Tribe]]. Ryoka has intentionally prevented herself from leveling or gaining skills. She did however take a lesson in magic from Ceria<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/01/04/1-34/ Chapter 1.34]</ref> and learn a basic [Light] spell, without being constrained by the need of a [Mage] class. Ryoka has since spent time trying to learn/improve magic outside of the leveling system.
