== Synopsis ==
Ryoka finds an unhappy Reynold waiting for her outside the Mage's guild and he informs her that Laken has finished his dealings and has secured the two adventuring teams and supplies that will be able to leave this evening. Ivolethe however tells Ryoka that a blizzard is on it's way that will last for 2-3 days with the worst of it hitting them in the evening. Ryoka asks Reynold to take them to Laken but he explains that he tells her that he doesn't know. Ryoka accuses him, but then has Ivolethe point out the nearest spy following them, which turned out to be one of Magnolia's maids disguised as a man using a magic ring.
Ryoka finds the one room in the back large enough to fit the Half-troll and knocks, but is greeted by a wary Durene who tries to send her away while Laken sleeps. Ryoka manages to convince her to let her in by handing her a pepper potion, Reynold however is still stopped by Durene. Laken sends Gamel away so they can talk in private, but not before Ryoka uses her phone to take a photo of Frostwing.
Laken hears the Pokemon theme song coming from Ryoka's phone to her embarassment. The two start talking again but Ryoka is still wary of being overheard by someone using magic. Ryoka tells Laken about Erin and then after realising that Ryoka can use her phone to translate German he tells her that he is an [Emperor]. Ryoka quickly tells Ivolethe to interrupt any people or spells that might be listening in and she goes to cause havoc from outside the inn.
Ryoka uses this opportunity to fill in Laken on her time in this other world before Laken reciprocates as Ryoka records him. Amongst the things Ryoka tells Laken is the fact that a God lives and that there was a summoning spell on Rhir. Ryoka then tells Laken that she won't be giving him knowledge on firearms to help his village and most of her modern knowledge won't be immediately useful to them, but she does sketch out how a greenhouse and a heavy plough would work. When it comes to protecting the village Ryoka notes down how to build trebuchets, catapults and onagers saying that some Drakes already have some on their walls but they aren't wiedespread to the rarity of engineers.
As they talk Ryoka spots Ivolethe, just watching them and waiting for something, and then she gets a call on her iPhone. Ryoka answers Blackmage's call and then she immediately accuses him of putting her in danger by calling. After cshe calms down, Blackmage tells her that Wistram is trying to find everyone and that they can send help to her. Laken interjects and introduces himself as L when Ryoka asks how they can trust Wistram. He tells Blackmage that there is no way of verifying the trustworthiness of the person they are talking to but instead they should have Wistram send out a message that only Earthers would recognise.
Laken warns Blackmage that if they do do that thenhe needs to be careful because they'll be putting a target on their back and they quickly conclude the call afterwards. Ryoka mentions that she needs to head back for Christmas before the two go back to discussing other technologies Laken might be able to use to help his village. Ryoka leaves and Laken invites Durene and Gamel in to talk.
Ryoka makes one last stop before returning to Magnolia's mansion, back to Hedault. She offers to sell him the wand and ups her bid by offering to tell him what the wand is made of. Ryoka brings out Ivolethe and explains that she's able to identify the wand. She tells Hedault that he'll never know what's inside and also thinks that he won't be able to pay the true value of the wand, so instead will need to pay with artifacts ennough to outfit the Horns. Hedault asks to be told what the wand is made of before he makes his choice.
Ivolethe explains that within the wand is the single seed of a tree that lived ten thousand years - a seed of living magic made into a wand. After hearing the explanation Ryoka realises that Hedault would agree to the trade without needing to ask and he writes down the debt before she leaves.
Before they reach the carriage Ryoka is summoned to the Runner's Guild by Laken. The snowstorm has gotten so bad that nobody except a runner with a bag of holding will be able to make it to Riverfarm. Reynold tells Ryoka that he's under strict orders not to drive Ryoka anywhere but Liscor which leaves Ryoka as the only option. Ryoka is afraid that she'll get lost during the storm, but then both she and Laken manage to hint to Ivolethe to be her Rudolph for Christmas.
