Erin fires Safry and Maran. Lyonette complains about Toren. Zel advises Pawn in leadership. Pawn and Lyonette become closer. Pawn leads his soldiers into battle again, with [[Yellow Splatters]] as the [Sergeant].

== Synopsis ==

* yonette wakes up for the third day of work since hiring the new barmaids. She's relieved to find Ishkr and Drassi are scheduled to work for the morning shift and assigns Drassi to wait the tables while Ishkr gets water and cleans the outhouse. Erin leaves to brainstorm Earth technology with Ryoka and the next shift begins. Safry tries to ignore Lyonette while working but Mrsha, who has her own issues with the pair, decided to get in the way of Safry cleaning.
* When Erin and Ryoka return, Erin goes off to see Brunkr armed with some moss. Ryoka asks around for Pisces and pulls him up from the basement to talk. Ryoka disappears and Pisces also leaves looking for the rest of his team. As Mrsha is playing around one of the tables she gets in the way of Safry once again.
* Fed up Safry pushes Mrsha off the table and Lyonette gets angry and threatens her with violence. Drassi and Ishkr manage to break the pair up before anything can happen. Lyonette sends Mrsha upstairs to play for the rest of the day and she spends the rest of the afternoon stewing in anger waiting for Erin to return so she can see them gone. Maran arrives for her shift and the two Celum barmaids talk about what happened. Safry trips on something unseen whenever she passes by one of the tables.
* Pawn wakes up with as a level 8 [Acolyte] and gains [Mass Prayer] in the basement of the Wandering Inn. Pawn rushes back to the Hive after realising where he was not. He finds Klbkch, wounded alongside other injured soldiers after he had taken to the front lines as he agreed with Erin and Xrn's choice to keep Pawn and his soldiers off the front lines. Pawn apologises to his Revalantor but Klbkch says it's okay and orders Pawn to continue training his soldiers aboveground whilst he and the Queen will manage the underground defenses.
* Maran and Safry brought a lot of human guests from Celum into the inn for the lunch rush. Lyonette confronts Maran over their attempt to bring more humans into the inn when the two choose to go on their break leaving Lyonette to work alone for the next half hour. Lyonette continues cursing about the other two when Drassi stops her break early to help her. Drassi tells Lyonette that she might quit if she still has to help the pair with discerning which Drake is which and Ishkr comes over and agrees with them.
* As more Drake and Gnoll guests arrive from Liscor a divide slowly forms amongst the inn, with the guests noticing. Maran and Safry only serve humans whereas the other three are trying to serve every table equally. Erin returns to the inn and Lyonette begins giving orders to the other barmaids but Safry argues back and Erin notices. The two barmaids begin to shout their complaints at the other towards Erin. Erin manages to silence them and the rest of the inn using [Crowd Control].
* Erin has Safry start explaining her side of the argument first: Lyonette's been giving orders all day despite their higher level. Lyonette explains that the two aren't listening to her orders and that she thinks she should be in charge despite their levels. Erin decides that Lyonette should be in charge - Maran complains but Erin refutes her and tells them that the problem's solved.
* Safry quits citing her 8 years of experience in Agnes' inn and Maran follows suit, both stating that they can't work with Lyonette. Lyonette becomes indignant at the blame but Erin stops the two from leaving but Ryoka appears after her invisibility wears off. Ryoka explains that she's been hanging around the inn all day and she points out that Maran and Safry were the problem. Ryoka mentions Safry's incident with Mrsha and Erin stops Ryoka from beating up the barmaids. Erin fires the two of them and refuses to pay them for the day. The two refuse to leave and begin to voice their complaints about the job but Erin scares the two away with her aura as they flee through Celum.
* Erin complains that things weren't so bad when Toren was around but Lyonette finally relieves all her complaints about the skeleton on Erin. She tells Erin about how Toren had tortured her and how she hadn't noticed or believed Erin. Realising that Lyonette had just shouted at her employer Lyonette flees the inn.
* Ryoka finds Lyonette outside the inn and consoles her about the shouting telling her that she was right to do so. Lyonette worries about being fired but Ryoka assures her that both she and Mrsha would stop Erin if she does. She tells Ryoka that she was happiest when she started to keep the inn running when Erin was gone, but then Erin came back with the door and her food and all her skills. Lyonette reveals that she thought Erin would trust her more and she isn't sure why she feels unhappy when she has what she wants. Ryoka consoles her by telling her that Lyonette deserves better than being a [Barmaid], since she's a [Princess]. After ferreting out Lyonette's secret Ryoka agrees to keep it to herself. As Lyonette knows [Light], Ryoka shows the princess [Flashbang] and enourages her that a Princess should know all kinds of things. Lyonette returns to the inn and Ryoka takes Mrsha along to Garia's farm.
* Pawn walks through the Hive in a daze, confused and depressed. He knows he's made a mistake by having been taken off the front lines because other Antinium are still dying. He accidentally awakens the worker that was sleeping in his spot, well the spot he would have had during a different shift.
* Pawn awakens back into his sulking but is visited by Xrn. Xrn tries to get him to command his soldiers again but Pawn doesn't want them to die for him. He suggests that Anand or Belgrade lead them in his stead. Xrn tries to tell him that she cannot lead either but Pawn refutes her argument citing her Centenium origins and his own lack of ability to lead. Xrn tells Pawn that he has a greater duty to the Antinium: to survive. To go to war so that they can survive, but Pawn is still not moved.
* Pawn arrives at the inn, with Erin away being screamed at by Agnes, Safry and Maran. Zel finds him and hears the same worries that all leaders deal with so he tells him something that Sserys had once told him - to look for someone under his command who can lead and inspire others and to nurture them so that individual can surpass them to let them step aside. But if there is no one else that can command then you must do it yourself.
* After Zel leaves the Antinium alone Lyonette comes over and Pawn tells her that he doesn't know how to lead. Lyonette tells him that he's perhaps not like a [General] but instead is like her, a [Princess], to his soldiers - someone that sits behind their warriors. She tells him a story that her mother told her, about a Queen who was defended by her soldiers and she just sat there rather than run, because it was the soldiers belief that mattered more than the Queen's.
* Pawn regains his resolve and before he leaves Lyonette teaches him how to walk more gracefully so that he can inspire them better. When Pawn returns to his soldiers, who had waited for him for days, he tells them that they will return to battle. He tells the soldier with yellow splatters on him that he will lead the soldiers and promotes him to [Sergeant]. But Pawn tells them he will not abandon them, that they will all go into battle together.
* Xrn finds Klbkch and he tells her that Pawn had requested combat duty with his entire group of soldiers. Pawn leads his soldiers in a procession towards the front lines with his thurible and the echoing of the company's mandibles clicking. As they pass Tersk speaks aloud that he doesn't understand what's happening but Belgrade knows: faith. Xrn and Klbkch watch as the procession walks past, Xrn sees in them what the Antinium of the past once were, Heroes.
* A soldier with a Damaged Antennae on the front lines is fighting, struggling against a suit of enchanted armor, before he's killed Yellow Splatters charges into the suit of armor and the rest of the soldiers follow pushing back the monsters. Pawn takes the soldier back and tells him that he will live, and he does.
* Pawn sits outside the Wandering Inn with his hundreds of soldiers inside eating Erin's bee soup. Tersk joins Pawn after Lyonette serves him seconds and suggests that they create armor for his soldiers from the shield spider corpses. Pawn begins to pray and Tersk asks him to teach him - by having faith in them.
