The Redfang Hobs fight the Eater Goats but they're outnumbered and Bugear is killed helping Headscratcher. Erin, Wirclaw and the other Villagers retreat to the safety of the houses whilst killing a few of the goats. Erin sees the goats being drawn away by the goblins and hears their laughter, after dispatching another goat with acid she runs over to the goblins.
Erin kills a goat with a thrown knife and she and the Hobs lead the eleven remaining goats away from the village. They're saved by Bird, Lyonette, Drassi and Mrsha carrying alchemist potions. Lyonette explains that they found Bird injured after being shot by the Goblins and came to help. Erin manages to convince a panicked Drassi that they won't be attacked and goes to talk to the Goblins while Bird escorts them back to the inn.
The survivng Redfangs stand around Bugear's remains and Erin thanks them for saving her before she offers them to feed them and directs them to her inn. The goblins arrive at the inn and are welcomed by Erin who hands them healing potions. Erin introduces herself and asks whether they know about the Goblin Lord or Rags. Erin begins to serve them food.
Drassi is terrified of the Goblins but Erin coaxes her into serving the food that she cooks for them. After cooking more food Erin goes upstairs to check on Lyonette and Mrsha, Mrsha is frightened and Lyonette is worried but Erin says that she owes them and that they'll see what happens. Erin returns below to the sound of a commotion.
The Half-seekers arrive at the inn and notice the Goblins, immediately thinking that it's Garen, Moore throws one of them across the room and the Half-seekers begin to fight before Erin shouts everyone down to stop the fighting. Erin explains the situation to the adventurers  and Jelaqua points out that the innkeeper will need to warn the rest of her guests. The Horns arrive but another citizen shouts in panic upon noticing the Goblins and alerts Liscor's Watch.
Zevara arrives with a group of Guardsmen and despite Erin's explanations she intends to either kill the Goblins or chase them out of the area. Erin refuses to let her until Zel arrives and has Zevara and the Watch return to Liscor. Zel tells Erin that he only helped her because he trusts the innkeeper's instincts, but he won't be staying in an inn with Goblins.
Erin returns to the inn and asks what the Goblins names are. With Pisces' help Erin manages to interpret the Goblins' body language into their names. Erin introduces the rest of the guests to the inn and Jelaqua asks where Garen is and how the Goblins know about him. Yvlon offers up the information she has about the Redfang tribe in the High Passes. Jelaqua and Moore leave and Erin tells the Goblins to stay at the inn if they have nowhere to go and asks who of her other guests are going to remain.
Erin plans to put the Goblins in the basement and the Horns are offered separate rooms in the new second floor which they accept. Erin manages to convince the Half-seekers to stay and Drassi to come into work whilst Ishkr is still in mourning.
