Olesm puts the ring from Niers Astoragon on and Pisces identifies it as a Ring of Sight. Excited, Olesm wants to tell Erin about his achievment but Pisces points out that Olesm is undeserving of the reward as much of the magazine's success stems from Erin's games and her idea to spread the newsletter causing the two to get into an argument.
Olesm gets defensive and thinks that Pisces is jealous of his success - he lashes out at Pisces asking him if he's accomplised anything besides being part of the Horns of Hammerad. In response Pisces reveals his newly designed Bone Horror scaring Olesm into falling into the snow and begins to explain it's intricacies and reveals that he has reached level 30 recently. Olesm then asks if this is why Selys refused to pass on his request regarding clearing out the sewers and Pisces explains that he offered to send a creation similar to the Bone Horror to clear out the sewers. Olesm think it's a good idea and offers to authorise it under his jurisdiction as Liscor's [Tactician].
Pisces helps Olesm up and the pair reconcile and begin to bond over their shared interests and struggles. As they talk Olesm leads the two of them towards the Crypt, and when he asks about Ceria, Pisces reveals that the two were an item and he consoles Olesm over the end of their relationship.
At the Crypt Olesm tells Pisces about his hunch, that Calruz's remains or gear weren't found amongst the other adventurers and he planned on searching the ruins to find them. They scour every room of the crypt until Olesm points out that there is only one left to Pisces' surprise. When they arrive at the final corridor Pisces realises that there is an illusion hiding it which was only revealed to Olesm via his new ring.
Through the room Pisces reanimates a [[Shield Spiders|Shield Spider]] to activate a trap - a hole leading to a room at the bottom with bones neatly lined up in piles. There are some bones scattered about in the direction of the exit as well as a battleaxe in the corpse of a Raskghar. Pisces and Olesm conclude that Calruz may have fallen through the trap and landed in the room, then fought his way past the Raskghar into the dungeon. Olesm wants to mount a rescue but Pisces realises that the City wouldn't commit and that the Horns are the only group with a vested interest. Olesm leaves the decision to tell Ceria up to Pisces and they depart.
Pisces returns to the inn overhearing his traumatised teammates being comforted by Erin after their mission to clear out the cockroaches. As Pisces sits at the back of the room he tries to chase away Mrsha who is currently upset with Erin over the Hobgoblins. Pisces hands her his wand to distract her and she puts it in her mouth. When Pisces tries to take it back Mrsha runs away. When Ceria sees Pisces she asks if he needs a healing potion and tells Pisces that she thought his idea with the sewers was a good idea. Pisces begins to remember all the untold things he hasn't told Ceria until he finally tells her that Calruz might be alive.
Olesm returns to his office and begins to work on his paperwork, including one information request from [[Ylawes Byres]] regarding the whereabouts of his sister which Olesm replies to. Olesm falls asleep, levels to 28 and gains a new skill.
