== Synopsis == In the goblin army currently being herded south by Lord Veltras the four notable faction leaders, Goblin Lord Reiss, Great Chieftain Tremborag, Garen Redfang, and Chieftain Rags, meet for a sit-about. After some posturing and insults they discuss. Reiss speaks of his shared history with Garen, and what’s up with previous Goblin King Velan’s two keys and the treasure he hid with them in the High Passes. Reiss also admits that he has a master, Az’kerash, but doesn’t consider himself a slave, yet also acknowledges he is a tool for his master. Still, even Az’kerash can’t force a goblin king into existence. Reiss speaks of his dream: he wants to use his master and what he learns from him in turn create a nation of and for goblins. While Rags understand this dream, she believes it’s doomed from the outset; the other species wouldn’t suffer such a nation. Garen doesn’t interject, and it’s clear that the points of contention between him an Reiss are the latter’s use of undead, and how Reiss lets himself be effectively a slave to Az’kerash. Tremborag doesn’t contribute, tells no stories nor secrets, and bristles at any attack on him. He dismisses them all and considers them traitors; he wants to kill each of them, in particular Reiss and Rags, for the slights they gave him. The sit-about ends without a clear winner, but the following day Garen’s Redfang faction siddles closer to Tremborag’s Mountain City Tribe, while Rags admits that she shares more in common with Reiss than the other two. She lets her tribe somewhat mingle with his army, but still keeps them at arms length. Reiss and Rags still talk, with the Goblin Lord showing off Osthia as his prisoner, kept despite his master’s orders, and Reiss admits him to be silent recently, what with being busy with creating new intelligent undead. Rags, citing Toren, is unimpressed at the idea of intelligent undead. At night the Redfang factions under Garen and Rags respectively pick up their rivalry again. Deep in the night Tremborag assassinates Quietstab, one of Rags’ lieutenants. Rags feels a loss, but doesn't yet know what she lost. Unbeknownst to any, Reiss bears witness to this assassination, but doesn’t speak up, aware that while this will lead to deeper scarring, it will be in his favour.
