'''Mrsha''' is a young mute [[Gnolls|Gnoll]] [Druid]. One of the few survivors of the [[Stone Spears Tribe]] after they were massacred by the [[Army of the Goblin Lord|Goblin Lord's army]], she currently resides in the [[The Wandering Inn]], with [[Erin Solstice|Erin]] and [[Lyonette du Marquin|Lyonette]] as her primary caretakers.

==Appearance==
Mrsha has big, round eyes that were brown with gold strata mixed among the depth.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.wordpress.com/2017/10/10/3-22-l/ Chapter 3.22 L]</ref> Her fur was initially a 'colorful forest brown', before becoming white as snow after most of her tribe was killed by Goblins.<ref name="2.35">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/06/11/2-29/ Chapter 2.35]</ref> This fur color has significance among Gnolls, who call white Gnolls "[[Doombearers|Doombringers]]."

After becoming the last survivor of her tribe, Mrsha was traumatized, especially after when other Gnolls rejected her on account of having white fur. She also gained phobtias of abandonment and being left alone. However, she gradually recovered from her trauma with the help of [[Ryoka Griffin|Ryoka]], [[Erin Solstice|Erin]] and [[Lyonette du Marquin|Lyonette]], the latter whom became her adoptive mother. While initially hostile towards Goblins, like the [[Redfang Elite Warriors|Redfang Warriors]], she gradually warmed up to them, especially after they helped rescue her from the Raskghar. She views [[Numbtongue]] and [[Bird]] as her siblings. Additionally, she treats [[Krshia Silverfang|Krshia]] and [[Erill Fienst|Erill]] to be her adoptive aunt and uncle respectively.

Mrsha is mature for her age, having undergone trials and tribulations that few adults have. However, she still retains a fun-loving attitude and is insatiably curious. She enjoys pranking people and stealing the other guests' food; however, her mischievous nature inevitably gets her in trouble, such as when she became stuck in a cupboard with a [Holding] effect or when she wandered off and ran into a nest of Crelers. Mrsha has a very active imagination, often acting out fantasies of being a great [Adventurer] or [Warrior].<ref name=":0" /> She is precocious for her young age, reflected in her sophisticated writing style and advanced vocabulary. 

Undeterred by her muteness, Mrsha is the most emotive character in the series. She is excellent at conveying emotion through gestures and body language. She enjoys insulting people through sign language or writing, after years of not being able to communicate with others.  

Displays of romance annoys and disgusts Mrsha in equal measures, particularly if they involve the people that she loves, such as Ryoka and Lyonette. She also hates studying, having trouble focusing on what she considers "boring stuff," like fashion. Thanks to Erin's lessons, she possesses some knowledge in an eclectic number of subjects, such as mathematics and history.<ref>[[Chapter 7.37]]</ref>  

==Background==
Mrsha is a young Gnoll from the [[Stone Spears Tribe]].<ref name="2.28">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/05/24/2-23/ Chapter 2.28]</ref> Her parents abandoned her for being mute, which was in turn reason for Urksh to exile them both from the tribe.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/11/25/interlude-the-tribes-of-izril/ Interlude: The Tribes of Izril]</ref> Mrsha was raised in the belief that her parents were two warriors, protecting far away miners of the tribe. After she rescued [[Ryoka Griffin|Ryoka]] when the Runner girl passed through her tribe's territory for [[Teriarch]]'s delivery, Mrsha was the child who was most curious about the Human runner. When Ryoka returned from her delivery and came by the tribe again, Mrsha was now missing.<ref name="2.34">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/06/09/2-28/ Chapter 2.34]</ref> After Ryoka learned that the [[Frost Faeries]] knew where Mrsha was, [[Urksh]], leader of the Stone Spears, pledged "any price" to gain the knowledge of where Mrsha is, and the Frost Faeries lead Ryoka to discover Mrsha.

Mrsha had fallen into a crevasse higher up in the mountains, having been chased there by a [[Goblins|Goblin]]. She was found and rescued by Ryoka, but they encountered the [[Army of the Goblin Lord|Goblin army]] on their return to the tribe. Once again, Urksh made a bargain with the Frost Faeries, to "offer everything" for the protection of Mrsha. It turned out that the price Urksh paid for his charge was the destruction of his tribe, while the [[Reiss|Goblin Lord]] survived his direct confrontation with [[Zel Shivertail]] in that night.<ref name="2.35" />

== Chronology==

===Volume 2 and 3===
After Mrsha and Ryoka escaped from the Goblin Lord's army, they made their way to Liscor, where Mrsha was introduced to Erin and her Wandering Inn. Ryoka and Mrsha stayed in the Inn for two nights together. Mrsha's recent experience with Goblins were the reason that Erin didn't allow [[Rags]] in, which was thus the last occasion of Rags visiting the Wandering Inn. Erin mixed Mrsha some [[Faerie Flowers]] drink, and took her to [[Liscor's Playground]] together with [[Selys Shivertail|Selys]].<ref name="2.40" />

On the third morning of Mrsha's stay in the Inn, Erin had gone missing, having been abducted by [[Toren]], Erin's skeleton servant of whom Mrsha had also been much afraid. Ryoka left Liscor right the next morning as well, entrasting Mrsha to the care of Selys and [[Krshia Silverfang]],<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/11/2-36/ Chapter 2.43]</ref> who was not prejudiced against Mrsha unlike most other Gnolls of Liscor.<ref name="2.40">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/01/2-33/ Chapter 2.40]</ref>

Mrsha stayed with Selys for about a week, but constantly ran away and didn't want to eat anything Selys offered her, not even Gnoll delicacies. She eventually escaped the city altogether and made her way into the Wandering Inn, where Lyonette as the lonely caretaker offered her a breakfast with honey. Selys was exasperated that Mrsha preferred to stay with the friendly Lyonette over her, knowing of the criminal past of the irresponsible [Barmaid].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/10/07/3-21-l/ Chapter 3.21 L]</ref>

Mrsha is later kidnapped by the Raskghar during a daytime raid. Captured for days and forced to live in a dank and filthy cage.

She would witness the Raskghar ritually killing the Gnolls they had imprisoned. Growing smarter and stronger.

Many of the Raskghar who undertake these rituals perish during the subsequent raid on their camps. Killed by either the Redfang Goblins, Goldrank Adventurers, Liscor’s Army, or the plague unleashed by Typhenous.

During the raid Mrsha is rescued by Lyonette, however it takes several weeks for her to truly recover from her ordeal.

Due to Mrsha helping them escape, and later attempting to sacrifice herself for them. The other Gnolls treat her far more respectfully. Putting her in the good graces of most of them.

It is during this arc that we learn that Mrsha’s fur may not just be culturally significant. As the Raskghar imply that sacrificing her to one of them would give them magical abilities.

Also implying that it is Mrsha’s white fur that allowed her to gain the [Mage] class and subsequent consolidation to [Druid].

===Volume 6===
Mrsha is left reeling from the shock of the Siege of Liscor. Upset at the deaths of so many Goblins. Mrsha appears to have, by and large, recovered from her wariness and hatred of Goblins.

She grows closer to Numbtongue.

===Volume 7 ===
Mrsha levels up in [Druid] after rescuing a pack of Fortress Beavers from a nest of Shield Spiders. Gaining [Fur of the Fortress] as a skill.

She also learns more about her class then ever before from more experienced [Druids].

Inadvertently exposing the changing nature of the Antinium to Nalthaliarstrelous. Who believe a meeting and deliberation must be held.

Mrsha appears to grow closer to Numbtongue and Bird. Taking lessons from both, like how to use reeds to make improvised weapons, or how to aim a loaded crossbow.

Though that doesn’t stop her from getting into fights with them. 

Mrsha is also reunited with Ryoka, leading to a troubled but heartwarming reunion. Though her affection to her causes Lyonette to be filled with intense jealousy.

=== Volume 8 ===
Depressed at the loss of Erin. And the subsequent departure of Lyonette on a search for a cure. Mrsha enters a vegetable like state. Only coming out of this state when the Goblin [Shaman] [[Ulvama]] feeds and disciplines her. Ulvama later resurrects and restores some of Erin’s fire and flowers respectfully.

She also befriends the [Grand Strategist] [[Niers Astoragon|Niers]]. Who helps her prank several [[Thronebearers of Calanfer|Thronebearers]].

[[Ulvama]] becomes something like an adoptive aunt or babysitter to the young Gnoll. Mrsha is later caught between the battle between [[Belavierr]] and Xrn. Leading to the [Witch] declaring her her personal enemy and swearing vengeance.

Taken by Wanderer during the battle and subsequent chaos. Mrsha is convinced to stay with him due to the lingering guilt of Erin’s death. And the knowledge that the Gnollish death squads after her could kill her friends and family.

During her travels, Mrsha is nearly killed by Plain's Eye Doomslayers but is saved by [[Tesy|Sellme]] a rebellious magical painter who’s known for starting mass armed conflicts with his work, and the [[Vetn|Thief]] [[Vetn|of]] [[Vetn|Clouds]], a infamous Gnollish thief. Together with the help of [[Qwera]], a Gnoll [Merchant] and [[Ysara Byres]], they head to the Meeting of the Tribes. She is unexpectedly encounters her birth parents, while also befriending several important Gnolls like [[Gireulashia Ekhtouch]] and [[Lehra Ruinstrider]]. Her identity is later outed amongst all the Gnoll tribes, leading to an all out civil war between them while enduring attack from the armies of the Walled Cities .
