When they arrive at the palace Nershal reminds them of the rules and explains his role as Steward to the Blighted King and his main role to prevent his ageing. He invites the Americans to a state banquet with the Blighted King. At the banquet the group spots Lady [[Theras]] wearing a red dress and the chamberlain informs them that she and her sister are in mourning from a miscarriage three months ago.
