Helm comes to Laken to request aid for Windrest. == Synopsis == Day 55 Durene wakes a snoring Laken; still on the wagon on the way back to Riverfarm. Beniar, leader of the Silver-rank team the Windfrozen Riders, tells them that they're only a few miles out from the village. Beinar snidely jokes about calling Laken "my Lord" and after he Laken tells the complaining Gamel and Durene that he doesn't care for titles. Odveig, leader of the Celestial Trackers, and Wiskeria their [Witch] consult Laken about the kind of trouble he's expecting, he explains that he's mostly just hired both teams as an assurance without any particular expectations yet. When they arrive in Riverfarm the villagers all call out to their Emperor. Laken has Durene describe the shocked faces of the adventurers as they find out Laken's class, except for Wiskeria who's just staring at Laken. Day 56 They had a banquet the night before for Laken's return. In the morning Laken meets with Prost, Gamel and the three adventurers. Beniar is embarassed by his previous actions and Laken orders the adventurers to patrol to the village for now. Prost tells Laken about Ryoka and the successful delivery of supplies as well as their progress in unburying the buildings. Laken asks Prost how he would proceed with restoring the village: Prost says that thanks to Laken's [Blessing of the Hearth] they only need warm bellies, rooms and places to work now that they are guarded by adventurers. Laken tells Prost that he thinks they should start building new buildings instead of digging up the old ones since they will require a similar amount of manpower. Prost has doubts but Laken encourages him and they start drawing blueprints for the village in the dirt. The two attempt to go to the location for the new buildings when Laken realises his class senses don't allow him to see there yet. Laken's a bit worried but thinks he has a solution, while Prost goes to check out the site alone. When Prost returns Laken asks him to be his second-in-command: to be his [Steward]. Prost asks why him, and Laken just tells him that a ruler needs a [Steward] and there's no better candidate available even if he isn't worthy of the class. He sees that the others trust Prost and he's seen him change his stance towards Durene, so Laken believes he can trust Prost. Prost kneels and Laken declares him his [Steward]. Day 57 Durene wakes Laken to tell him about Prost losing his [Farmer] and [Builder] levels and gaing [Steward] at level 8. Laken tells her it's class consolidation and the two go and have breakfast in the village. Prost has some new skills: [Talent Finder], and [Eye of Need] which Laken thinks are useful. Wiskeria tells Laken that the adventurers found a bear's den nearby but no other monsters. Laken asks her to be discreet about his class and she realises that Laken is angling to get both teams to become his subjects. Day 59 The bear attacks the village - it's actually a Mossbear. The adventurers begin to engage the bear but then it begins to charge towards Laken. Durene gets in the way and punches the bear, Durene grapples with it and Laken manages to command the bear to stop for a moment. He uses [Intimidating Glare] and commands it to go back home. The bear returns and Laken prevents Beniar from chasing after it. Laken is concerned that his "vision" is limited and he believes that if he can claim more land he will be able to spot more threats earlier. Day 60 Helm, a [Blacksmith] from the nearby village of Windrest is picked up by the adventurers on the way to Riverfarm. He tells Laken that Goblins attacked his village and took their food and two young women. The village can't afford to hire protection so they sent Helm to find food from Riverfarm. Helm begs Laken to have the adventurers defend Windrest but Prost is outraged by the notion of losing their own protectors. Laken asks Helm to bring his people to Riverfarm instead and Beniar escorts him back to Windrest. == Characters == * Laken Godart * Durene * Beniar (Identity Revealed) * Gamel * Odveig (First Appearance) * Wiskeria (First Appearance) * Prost Surehand (Full Name Revealed) * Yesel * Helm (First Appearance) == Adventurer's Teams == * Windfrozen Riders * Celestial Trackers == Locations == * Riverfarm ** Dureneโs Cottage == Creatures == * Frostwing * Unnamed Mossbear
