The news about Tremborag’s demise, without any reported great clash of armies, leads the drake strategists to the conclusion that Lord Tyrion won’t engage the goblin army himself but rather try to push them past Liscor or the High Passes through to drake lands. As Olesm informs Zevara, Embria, and Ilvriss. None of them feel too threatened; the strategical advantages of Liscor are too great for a goblin army to overcome. They surmise a drake suppression army will be put together soon enough, depending on the goblin army’s route. Internally Olesm feels that’s not all there is to it. He confirms that the seasonal rainfalls around Liscor are due to stop, and the waters will drain quickly after.

As Olesm informs Zevara, Embria, and Ilvriss he concurs with that assessment, and while worrisome, none feel too threatened; the strategical advantages of Liscor are too great for a goblin army to overcome. They surmise a drake suppression army will be put together soon enough, depending on the goblin army’s route. Internally Olesm feels that’s not all there is to it. At the human army camp Yitton Byres is invited to Tyrion revealing his plans for the army to his inner circle, and Emperor Laken: to harry the goblins until they reach Liscor before besieging them there with Laken's trebuchets and "accidentally" damage or knock down the city walls. Normally Liscor would be able  to withstand magical siege attack and repel any ladders brought forth, trebuchets being a secret of Drake engineers, but with the dozens in human hands, Tyrion is confident to shift the odds. Driving the goblins into the wall to avoid any more fire will allow his army to "rescue" the drake city and thereby take it. This will change the grand strategy at play for the last few hundred years in the ongoing conflict between humans and drakes in favour of the humans.
