[[Cara O'Sullivan|Cara]] realizes the true power of her Skills, such as [Role Change], which allows her to acquire the knowledge involved in role, and [Firm Presence], which draws everyone’s attention to her. [[Joeired]] is unimpressed, claiming that she still needs an on-stage personality. Later he comes screaming at her in a panic, telling her that she is due to perform at the Palace of Shadows, replacing [[Rolairenes|Rolare’s]] act after somebody dropped a Prelon on his violin. Despite her dislike of Prince Seratoito, Cara is excited for a chance to perform. While [[Elena Othonos|Elena]] tries different styles on the [Singer’s] hair in different styles, she tells Cara not to be snippy. When Cara complains about this world not having autographs, Elena jokes about Cara also bringing the concepts of boy bands and “feet pictures” to this world. Laughing together, Elena’s expression suddenly turns blank. Cara realizes that she saw a brief glimpse of Elena’s personality, which is being suppressed. Realizing that she’s reacting to strong emotions, the [Singer] tries pretending to be more demanding and rude. Trying to draw out Elena’s true personality, Cara ends up recounting the [[Gravesong|events in Afiele.]] While confessing her feelings of guilt and shame, her emotions suddenly start gushing out of control. Cara feels like they are being pulled out of her chest and somehow senses they are going into Elena.
