First Appearance

Chapter 4.26 M

Regis Reinhart, also known to the Reinhart family as Grandfather, is Magnolia's ancestor.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

He is an spry old man with gray hair, though does not appear old enough to warrant being called "grandfather." His eyes have a sense of agelessness that only immortals possess. His clothes are old-fashioned.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Regis was a Reinhart born thousands of years ago who was preserved in a ghostly state in a vault at the Reinhart family's original First Landing mansion. He is referred to by Maviola El as the Reinhart Family's curse and one of the reasons for their decline in power.

While his family is under the impression that he is confined within the vault, he is able to leave anytime. He also collects information on the outside world. His information network isn't particularly well developed, as he was unaware of both the internal incest between some of the Reinhart children in the same building he resides in and the existence of Tremborag and the Mountain City Tribe.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • To Magnolia:
    • “Young Magnolia. I should have known it would be you, girl. Only you would have the audacity to address me so casually.”
    • “Manners, brat. Or have you forgotten who it is you’re speaking to?”
    • “I am your honored ancestor, girl!”
    • “You are impertinent, unruly, rude—which is still better than your cowardly relatives, I must admit. Do you know that they haven’t dared set foot down here since you left?”
    • “You children. When did necromancy become such a horrific thing? When I was young, [Necromancers] were as valuable as diamonds! And if your family had a lick of sense between them, they’d realize that someone who’s lived for thousands of years might have some decent advice in his head to share with them!”
    • “You have proven yourself a worthy scion over the decades you have ruled the family, girl. You have protected our name and returned more riches to this vault than you have taken. More than the other unworthy descendants of our house. So you may take what is needed. What is needed—and no more.”
    • “Why don’t you have that scaled disgrace of a lover you trysted with do your dirty work for you, girl? I’m sure he’d make quick work of a Goblin Lord—if he ever bestirred himself from his caverns, that is!”
    • “Hah! You wouldn’t dare try, brat! Reinharts of the past have broken themselves against the enchantments that keep me here!”
    • “The Veltras? Those lowborn dogs want to steal glory and a march on our family? Why didn’t you tell me before? If you had, I’d have given you all that you asked without arguing!”
    • “You’re an impertinent brat. You always were. I suppose this is why you make for such a good head of the family, though. It’s children like you who make me think we’ll take this continent yet.”
  • (To Thorns of Death) “He has no defenses. He is a glass wand—hit him hard enough and he’ll shatter in a single blow. Nor can he dodge what he can’t see. Deploy a Deathslayer Arrow with the Guild’s best [Archer]. Send the Faces.”
  • (To Thorns of Death) “Then cover the ground! If she doesn’t die—that typhoon won’t last. Teleporting used up most of its magic. It will dissipate within hours. I have seen it before.”
  • (To himself) “Wait, that’s the Bronze Crown of Manus! We took it from them in war nearly a thousand years back! How does she have—she can’t give it to them!”
