tl;dr[edit | edit source]

Rags releases the slaves she freed to a nearby human city and reinvent pikes.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

Garen heads to meet Tremborag outside the now-empty armory, too late to stop the rebellion, to discover that all the women are gone along with most of the Redfangs and thousand of Goblins. In his anger Tremborag threatens Garen but he placates him by telling him that he has the key and knows where the second one is.

Rags wakes up with her Goblin army on the move and catches up on the situation with Pyrite, nobody has followed them yet and the humans are travelling with them slowly albeit seperate from the goblins. She summons the three local goblins, Noears, the leader of the female goblin warriors and the old one, and gets them to point out a nearby hill to rest. After speaking with the human women Rags has Noears point out the nearest human city with the maps he stole from the mountain and has the group march towards it.

As they approach the city sends out it's mounted forces to prepare a defence but stops when they see the women being allowed to escape, Rags has the Goblins march past the city during the distraction as she tells the leader of the riders about Tremborag and implies that he'll join forces with the Goblin Lord. Rags leaves the humans after telling them her name and catches up with her tribe.

Once they reach the forest by the lake Rags sets about reorganising the tribe and preparing them for future battles. At first she has them building more crossbows, but during a conversation with Redscar she has to come up with a way to handle the human cavalry to which the old Goblin, Greybeard now, tells her to use the memory of other Chieftains.

After waking from the memory of a Hob slain by a knight Rags has the woodworkers of her tribe begin making pikes, but they end up competing with each other to make longer and longer weapons. Eventually Rags realises that the twenty foot long pikes can be used effectively by regular goblins and sets up a mock battle against some Redfangs.
