Pewerthe is a [Potter] of Khelt and Fetohep's named successor.
Appearance edit edit source
She has a largely visible scar down the back of her neck and others along her arm.[1]She wears a potter's apron and has a broken nose, and keeps her black hair tied back [2]
Personality edit edit source
As a [Potter of Secrets], she excels at misdirection and lies. She often tells half-truths or outright lies about herself to different people, claiming that secrets help her level, though she never lies out of maliciousness or self-benefit.[2] Beneath this mischievous tendency lies a sharp and pragmatic mind. Pewerthe is resourceful and quick-thinking, traits that once allowed her to survive captivity among the infamous [Bandit] group, the Sands of Cuzale. By convincing the thieves that she could hide their stolen wealth inside enchanted pots, she exploited their greed and paranoia until suspicion consumed the group and they turned on one another. This ability to manipulate situations through suggestion and misdirection remains one of her defining strengths. As Fetohep’s heir, she takes her service to Khelt seriously, and is shown to be competent in politics and spycraft, despite her inexperience.[3]
In a nation known for having the time for creating great works of art, much of her work as a [Potter] for being small and practical items such as water jugs, or shelters for desert mice.[1] Having lived outside of Khelt, she is more grounded and pragmatic than the rest of the populace, who are unused to the harsh realities of life such as killing small bugs or throwing away their own trash.[4]
Background edit edit source
Nine years ago,[4] Pewerthe and her family left Khelt to see the world. They were attacked by bandits called the Sands of Cuzale. She was the only survivor and spent seven months in captivity. During her imprisonment, she fostered distrust amongst the bandits by offering her services in stashing away money in her pots without the other bandits' knowledge. This eventually led to infighting and then bloodshed, which allowed her and a few others to escape and messaged Khelt for a rescue. A hundred and fifty riders of Khelt cut down her remaining pursuers and she returned home.
Three months after her return, Fetohep had her recount her escape to him. Impressed by her guile, he named her his successor in the event something happened to him.[1]
