Revenants

Revenants are undead corpses that retain their personality and Skills they had in life.

Background

They are the spirits of dead people bound into bodies and forced to obey the caster. Despite that, necromancers are hesitant to create such beings. Spirits that are brought in such a manner tend to come back changed, possibly insane or vengeful. This is likely the reason that makes them exceptionally hard to control.

It's possible for Revenants without souls to arise, but those Revenants are copies of the people they were, possessing the same mind and intellect, but with the hatred of the living that other undead possess. They just seek to kill everything and have no goal beyond that.

Revenants still retain the classes and levels they had in life; however they are incapable of levelling further.

Powers and Abilities

They retain the personality of their former selves, which makes them especially difficult to deal with opposed to the mindless Undead.
