| In a few attempts, he was able to do it at the end. They escaped on the ''Illuminary'', Rasea Zecrew's ship. When Fetohep sailed to Izril, the ''Illuminary'' met up with them and followed them to Izril. Amerys, along with the Vizir Hecrelunn of Khelt, were bid to hold off Zeres, while ''Sand at Sea'' and the ''Illuminary'' sailed upriver toward the Great Plains of the Gnolls.

| In Volume 10, Ceria, Pisces and Amerys discussed magecraft. Ceria and Amerys bonded over their shared insecurities. She also stole a magical dress from Ceria, one that Ceria had been given by the City of Shields.

| Then, later on, Amerys headed to Izril again to duel Valeterisa, Archmage of Izril. There, she fought Valeterisa, Relc, and Lord Moore. Eventually she retreated with the help of Takhatres, eating potshots by Liscor's Wall Spells, the Wandering Inn's Archers and Relc. Amerys escaped with some of Valeterisa's most valuable notes on magic.
