Durene lets Laken sleep in her cottage which is outside of the town of Riverfarm. Laken quickly suspects that something is off about Durene, given how tall and strong she is, and how tough her skin is. Laken politely doesn't inquire about it, realizing it is a sore point with Durene. After talking about and helping Durene cook, Laken finds out about classes and levels.
Durene lets Laken sleep in her cottage which is outside of the town of Riverfarm. As the days pass by, Laken suspects that something is off about Durene, given how tall and strong she is, and how tough her skin is. Laken politely doesn't inquire about it, realizing it is a sore point with Durene. After talking about and helping Durene cook, Laken finds out about classes and levels.

When Laken is helping Durene to fish, some kids from Riverfarm start to taunt Durene calling her a freak. On the fifth day Durene goes to help fix a wagon by lifting it up. On the sixth day, Laken decides that he needs to get a class and asks Durene to help show him around Riverfarm. Durene shows him around the village on the eighth day and Laken leaves a good impression on the villagers but he starts to hate them a bit for the irrational dislike of Durene. On Day 11 Laken decides to become an [Emperor] but Durene says it is impossible to just become an emperor but Laken tells her the story of Emperor Norton. Then Laken declares himself as an Emperor and also as the protector of Durene's cottage. That night Laken Godart levels in [Emperor], almost making Durene panic upon the impossibility.
