The '''Deathless''', also known as the '''Deaths of Rhir''', are the champions of the [[Demon Kingdom|Demon King]] and the leaders of his armies.

== Overview ==
The Deathless are the last, greatest weapons of the Demon Kingdom. Considered to be some of the most powerful individuals in the world, they are immortal and return century after century if not slain.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/07/12/7-34-c/ Chapter 7.34 C]</ref> There is an expression about the Deathless, saying "when they take the field, armies die,"<ref name="6.68" /> which speaks to their level of power, and proven correct when a still-wounded Silvenia overran the 5th Wall of the [[Blighted Kingdom]] and their forces by herself.<ref name=":0">[[Chapter 7.36 C]]</ref>
== History ==
Originally, there were twelve Deathless. There was eight remaining by the end of the Long Night, the period when magic disappeared,<ref name=":3">[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/04/01/interlude-stories/ Interlude - Stories]</ref> before the [[Creler Wars]] and liberation of Stitch-folk. 

One Deathless was a member of the [[Soiretham]], and fought against the Blighted Kingdom before the war with the Demon Kingdom.<ref name=":4" />

The Death of Wings [[Serinpotva]] once convinced a species of giant spellcasting Silverfish, the Soiretham, to join the Demon Kingdom. After the [[Blighted Kingdom]] destroyed them, [[Silvenia Ettertree|Silvenia]] created the [[Vorepillar]] plague in revenge.<ref name=":3" /><ref name="6.68">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/01/01/6-68/ Chapter 6.68]</ref>

A century ago, the Deathless fought [Archmages] [[Zelkyr Amerwing]] and [[Az’kerash|Peril Chandler]] along with the armies and elites of many nations. They were able to break the armies sent against the Demons and force the [Archmages] to retreat, while also killing Kharneva, one of Zelkyr's Truestone Golems. However, the Death of Voices and the Death of Dust were killed. The others were grievously wounded, only kept alive thanks to Silvenia's magic.<ref name=":2">[[Interlude – Paradigm Shift (Pt. 2)|Interlude - Paradigm Shift (Pt. 2)]]</ref> 

While it was expected that the Deathless not recover for at least another century,<ref name=":0" /> everything changed with the arrival of an [[Earthers|Earther]] named [[Flora]], who had an epinephrine injector in her possession. Silvenia was able to clone the Epipen several times, boosting it to something similar to a panacea. The medication sped up the Death of Magic's healing a millionfold, allowing the former Archmage to divert more mana to her comrades' healing.<ref>{{VERef|9.46 S}}</ref>

The return of the Deathless was heralded by Silvenia, who was able to break 5th Wall and its forces by herself. While she attempted to take 4th Wall, she was discouraged so by [[Hayvon Operland|Lord Hayvon]] and his forces and ordered by the Demon King to retreat.<ref name=":0" />

Silvenia and [[Czautha’qshe|Czautha]] teleported to Chandrar and destroyed several of Roshal's caravans, freeing [Slaves] and Djinni, before attacking Lailight Scintillation itself.<ref>[[Chapter 8.32]]</ref> They returned to Rhir via [Grand Teleport], but during mid-transit, they encountered another group using the same spell: Dame [[Eclizza]], [[Ryoka Griffin]], and [[Sammial Veltras]]. Silvenia kills Eclizza, but is dissuaded from further action by Czautha, who sees the chains on Ryoka and Sammial.<ref>[[Chapter 8.33 R]]</ref>

After the Christmas broadcast, [[Serinpotva]], the Death of Wings, revealed her recovery to the world. Silvenia continued to assault the Blighted Kingdom, assassinating a few [Heroes], unleashing Crelers, and attacking their fleet to the New Lands of [[Izril]]. She also teleported a colony of Demons to the New Lands.

== Trivia ==

* It is rare for all the Deathless to gather in one place, having happened only three times during Flora's stay in the Demon Kingdom as of [[Interlude – Songs and Stories|Interlude - Songs and Stories]].
* According to Thatalocian, the [Patternlord of Graven Icons], there is one more Deathless still alive.<ref name=":3" /> This was confirmed to be true in [[Interlude – Another Time]].
** Thatalocian also claimed that the Deathless predated his own life during the Long Night; this implies that they have existed on Rhir in some form for much longer than the Demons have. Because Silvenia and Serinpotva both joined the Demons long after the Creler Wars,   there have been at minimum 14 Deaths (assuming the original twelve never added anyone else except for those two).  
* It is unknown if [[Wrymvr]] shares a connection to the Deathless, or merely an epithet. 
* [[Qin’tevf’al]] is the former Death of Chains.

Silvania (also known as ''The Death of Magic, The Fallen [Archmage] of Wistram,'' or ''Silvania the Traitor) ''is a half-elf [Archmage] . She is capable of casting spells of at least Tier 7. Aside from her own impressive spellcasting abilities, she seems to be able to nullify the abilities or Mages and Items up to Tier 7. Shamanic magic was not effected by this anti-magic field during The Battle of the 5th Wall. <ref name="7.36">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/07/19/7-36-c/ Chapter 7.36]</ref>
