== Overview == === Inhabitants === The inhabitants of the Archipelago are referred as '''Drathians''' and the '''Drath people.'''<ref name="gloss">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/10/19/glossary/ The Wandering Inn Glossary]</ref>A very formal people, Drathians are rarely seen in foreign lands.<ref name="gloss" /><ref name="6.14 K">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/05/07/6-14-k/ Chapter 6.14 K]</ref> The Humans of Drath have unique physical features uncommon among other Humans. Both [[Magnolia Reinhart]]<ref name="1.03R" /> and [[Venitra]]<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/05/26/2-24/ Chapter 2.29]</ref> noticed that [[Ryoka Griffin|Ryoka]] (who is half-Japanese) appears to look similar to a Drath Archipelago native. Another species native to Drath are Kitsunes.<ref name=":0">[[Chapter 8.77 B]]</ref> The people of Drath are the descendants of the "survivors of countless nations," from the area where the [[The Last Tide (location)|Last Tide]] is now. <ref>{{VERef|9.39}}</ref> === Trade === The Drathians maintain trade fleets capable of far ocean-travelling. Drathian waters are also considered ''dangerous'' for [[pirates]].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/09/03/interlude-rufelt/ Interlude - Rufelt]</ref> After incidents with [[Roshal]] slavers, they stopped sailing to [[Chandrar]]. However, seeing Drathian sailors in [[Dullahans|Dullahan]] ports is not a rarity unlike in most other ports,<ref name="6.55K" /> and their products make their way also to the rest of Baleros and even [[Terandria]].<ref name="6.44E" /> The house of Minos also trades with the Drathians, claiming that their tools and magic are useful.<ref name="6.23D">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/06/08/6-23-d/ Chapter 6.23 D]</ref> Foreign warriors make pilgrimages to Drath to learn their fighting arts.<ref name=":1" /> From books of Magnolia's library, [[Ryoka]] deduced that the Minotaurs and the natives of the Archipelago often clash, and she mentally compared them to the Philippines or Japan.<ref name=":3.35">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/12/05/3-35/ Chapter 3.35]</ref> Other sources confirm that Drathians and other seafarers occasionally clash with each other.<ref name="gloss" /><!-- ''Note: Ryoka also got things wrong about Baleros, believing that the continent was similar to the Americas without any colonization happening.''<ref name="2.06" /> --> === Culture === Drathian culture contains elements similar to Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cultures. Drath's unique language, referred to as Drathian, contains Japanese and Chinese words.<ref name="5.05">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/07/24/5-05/ Chapter 5.05]</ref><ref>[[Chapter 8.51 D]]</ref><ref name=":0" /> Traditional Drathian weapons also include katanas and ''hwachas'', which are Japanese and Korean respectively. A special meal from Drath is the ''sea urchin'', that is also common on other eastern parts of the world, like Rhir and Minos.<ref name="6.55K">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/11/05/6-55-k/ Chapter 6.55 K]</ref> Some Drathians and Minotaurs are also known to be [Martial Artists].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/05/21/6-18-h/ Chapter 6.18 H]</ref> The Drathian culture also has [Ninjas], while other continents refer to a similar class as <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[Assassins]]].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/09/16/3-13/ Chapter 3.13]</ref> The Drathians have distinct ornamentatations. [[Niers Astoragon]] uses a tiny comb with these patterns.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/12/11/interlude-foliana/ Interlude - Foliana]</ref> The Drathians also produce ''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofuda ofuda]''-like charms and glass talismans, intended to protect from magic.<ref name="6.44E">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/09/14/6-44-e/ Chapter 6.44 E]</ref> Most other species have fewer counters to Drathian magic, since it's comparatively exotic.<ref name="6.23D" /> Drathians also know that any aspect of the body and even qualities like the mind or natural flow of mana can be improved to some extent. They have became experts at making, refining and producing pills, liquids, and other methods to cultivating and changing the very nature of their form. Thus, they have individuals with the [Cultivator] class.<ref name=":0" /> Using these cultivating methods, it is said that the perfect warriors of Drath have blood which circulates the body ten times faster than a normal person, as well as being lighter, swifter, stronger, have eyes like birds and flawless skin and the ability to consume poison like water.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/02/23/7-09-k/ Chapter 7.09 K]</ref>
