'''Elementals''' are powerful beings made of an element. This can range from natural elements like Fire, Water, Metal, Earth, Swamps, and Coral, to more artificial elements like Masks, Glass, Plastic, and String, to even concepts and ideas like Law and Justice. They are entirely different from [[Chapter 8.85|Daemons]] though.

They are known to protect Gnoll tribes and have deep ties to [Shamanic] magic.

Elementals have a body and an anchor. The body is the vessel it uses to interact with the world. The anchor is the part that connects it to what it is. Elemental Lords seem to be much larger than their kin.<ref>{{VERef|10.21 E}}</ref> 

Elementals of Law have bodies made of immutable materials, like metal.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2022/10/02/9-19-e/ Chapter 9.18 E]</ref>

Meanwhile, Elementals of Water are made from ever-changing and liquid materials like Water & Tea.

Destroying the anchor does not kill the Elemental, but it does sever them from their vessel.

Elementals can also be killed, though whether this is permanent or just causes them to change in some undefinable way is unclear.

Elementals are not just the elements they're made of, but ideas & concepts, such as a location that is so old and powerful that it develops a personality or a nation or law so entrenched that its very idea starts to think. They must be summoned by binding their essence into a physical body. When the body and anchor have been prepared, the Elemental is invited inside with offerings. There are Elementals which can be made with Skills or spells. But they have no soul or consciousness, and do not persist for very long. Some are capable of basic cognitive skills like the Fire Guardian of [[Ruins of Albez|Albez]]

Tales of Elementals say they started small and grew without limit over time.

In the [[Waning World]], Elementals are faded from the world. However, they are not entirely gone.
