== Military == When matters are urgent, Jecrass' nobility can mobilize a host of over 170'000 armed people in less than a day upon their [King's] behest, half of them mounted. Most of these [Riders] and [Soldiers] are not high-leveled however: it may be assumed that most of these soldiers are not part of a standing army, but include [Guards], [Warriors] and part-time [Militia]. King [[Raelt]] has made [General] [[Lael]] the commander of his forces and recently tasked her with increasing the standing army by another 5000 soldiers.<ref name="7.08K" /> The nation's specialist units are the [Trick Riders], who are able to stop on a dime, turn, thread the needle in battle, and use ropes, nets, and other tools to immobilize foes. Their cavalry also uses their magical horse breeds, such as Bicorns and Pegasi. They are able to match and defeat [[Medain]]'s best armored lancers. Under Queen Jecaina, Jecrass has raised a unit of Bows of Sands, created from Jecrass' veteran mounted archers and slingers. They harass the enemy and then retreat, hurling powdery balls and arrows of sand at pursuers.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/02/17/8-08-j/ Chapter 8.08 J]</ref> The Lawriders are a new small group in Jecrass loyal to Queen Jecaina, though they are not primarily a military unit, as they administer law, deliver food, and implement reforms. They have the ability to enforce specific rules in battle.<ref name=":0" />
