'''Jungle Tails''' is a mercenary group in [[Baleros]]. It was once a [[Four Great Companies|Great Company]] before being defeated and supplanted by the [[Forgotten Wing Company]].

== Overview ==
Jungle Tails is described as the largest company in the world,<ref name=":1">[https://wanderinginn.com/2022/04/17/8-80/ Chapter 8.80]</ref> with most of their forces composed of [[Lizardfolk]].  

They are led by a council whose members have symbolic titles that represent various facets of species related to Lizardfolk. Those positions are meant to come with abilities but though it is uncertain if Jungle Tails still retains the methods in the modern age.<ref name=":0">[[Chapter 8.77 B]]</ref> Below the council are the Nagatine Scions, their equivalent of [Generals], while further down the chain of command are the Serpent Leaders, the company-commanders.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/11/03/interlude-conversations/ Interlude - Conversations]</ref> High Naga Follower is a rank similar to [Captain] for Lizardfolk, who cannot hold full command roles within the company.<ref>{{VERef|10.43 – RNG (Pt. 1)}}</ref>

The Lizardfolk's reverence for the Nagas is also extended to Jungle Tails, to the point that even Lizardfolk who are unaffiliated with the company or even against it on certain issues will hesitate to denounce them for wrongdoings.<ref>{{VERef|10.06}}</ref>

== Background ==
As the main Lizardfolk company, Jungle Tails has existed for thousands of years, predating the [[Creler Wars]]. Over two hundred years ago, they reached the height of their power when the Lizardfolk dominated over Baleros in the form of the Nagatine Empire, even threatening other continents.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2022/12/07/interlude-age-and-tales/ Interlude – Age and Tales – The Wandering Inn]</ref> However, they were weakened when the Lizardfolk's source of power, the [[Eyes of Baleros (Relics)|Eyes of Baleros]], were lost, causing the empire to fall.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/07/01/9-50/ 9.50 – The Wandering Inn]</ref>  While Jungle Tails still retained the status of a Great Company, they lost it to the Forgotten Wing Company in a series of bloody battles.  

Nearly a decade ago, Jungle Tails initiated a project involving kidnapping children to experiment on them in response to losing footing against the rising Forgotten Wing Company. Those responsible were killed by their victims, and the children are kept contained in the city of Oelnnox by the Forgotten Wing Company to this day.<ref>{{VERef|10.08 (Pt. 2)}}</ref>  

== Military Strength ==
Jungle Tails has a large number of infantry. One Nagatine Scion is expected to lead as many as one million Lizardfolk.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2022/03/27/8-76-b/ Chapter 8.76 B]</ref>

As most of their forces are Lizardfolk, they employ many Naga evolutions, including rare and lesser known evolutions.

The primary tactic of Jungle Tails is to overwhelm the enemy with superior numbers composed of Lizardfolk, while the Nagas fall back. Part of the reason why [[Niers Astoragon]] defeated them was to create a slaughter zone that the Lizardfolk foot soldiers would refuse to enter.<ref name=":1" />
