Jurix witnessed [[Ceria Springwalker|Ceria]] and [[Pisces Jealnet|Pisces]]' first year exam at Wistram.<ref name ="Pt. 4"/> He, among other spectating mages, was impressed by their performance.<ref name="Pt. 6"/>

Jurix and a small group of other influential mages were introduced to Ceria by her mentor, [[Illphres]]. It is at this first meeting that Jurix described the goal of their congregation: to challenge [[Cognita]], open the doors to the upper floors of Wistram, and become true mages. Upon Ceria's agreement to help them train and prepare, Jurix briefly provided Ceria a wand capable of casting [Fireball] during a practice session. Before [[Wistram Days Challengers|the five mages]] entered the room to face the Golems, Jurix and the others gave Ceria, their only witness, promises that they would see her again. <ref name ="Pt. 7">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/11/21/wistram-days-pt-7/ S03 - Wistram Days (Pt. 7)] </ref>

Jurix and the others died to Cognita and the four other Golem guardians. Their bodies, not all entirely in one piece, were stored in [[Bag of Holding|Bags of Holding]] by a group of Golems that carried their remains. Their bodies were placed in a room dedicated to disassembling corpses. Before the Golems could begin processing their remains, Pisces reanimated the challengers' corpses. They rose as [[Liches]], more powerful than normal due to their proximity to death and their power in life. The Liches were nearly as powerful as [[Revenants]], as close as Pisces could have made them. He commanded the Liches to aid him when he fought his way into the [[Wistram Academy#Catacombs|catacombs]], pilfered [[Nekhret|Archmage Nekhret]]'s tomb, and set Nekhret's curse of shaded apparitions upon the academy. <ref name="Pt. 7"/>
