== Overview == The Last Box is a three-by-three foot cube containing an infinite pocket dimension filled with a multitude of rooms with countless puzzles.<ref name=":0">{{VERef|Chapter 8.77 B}}</ref> While each Last Box is different, solving the puzzles unlock magic and technology.<ref name=":1">{{VERef|Chapter 8.76 B}}</ref> [[File:Last Boxes by -I Outlast Even Stone-.png|thumb|By [I Outlast Even Stone]]] Described as "homework across the aeons," the Gnomes gifted the Last Boxes to the Fraerlings to give them an edge over the Tallfolk.<ref>{{VERef|Interlude β Luan the Giant}}</ref> Thanks to them, Fraerlings are the most magically and technologically advanced species in the [[Innworld|world]]. Fraerling cities with a Last Box are referred to as "First Founding."<ref name=":1" /> Secretly, the Last Boxes were also a contingency against the [[Dead Gods|dead gods]]. Each Last Box contains a room of nothingness that can imprison a god, completely cutting them off from the outside world. The Last Box then teleports itself to another dimension where it can't be found.<ref>{{VERef|Chapter 8.80}}</ref> The Last Boxes are surrounded by layers of protection made by the Fraerlings to ensure they would not fall into enemy hands. They are held in isolated, secure rooms with the best protections they could make that could survive Tier 7 and perhaps Tier 8 spells, and even safeguards to deny them from anyone purge them. Each First Founding city has made their room differently.<ref>{{VERef|10.06}}</ref>
