=== Curse of the Dungeon ===
The true danger of the dungeon are microscopic flesh worms, which infest the dungeon's stagnant waters. These parasites have a telepathic connection to the Mother of Graves and they can read and alter the thoughts of their hosts once they have reached a high enough stage of infection. It requires a year of full infection for them to read the Host's mind. The worms will make their host behave more aggressively, driven to procreation, be drawn to water, and sleepwalk to spit larvae into wells. Eventually, the Host will become an extention of the Mother of Grave's will and worship her. If the worms believe they have been discovered or sense the host is dying or isolated, they accelerate the infection and try to control the Host to save them. These worms are the reason the dungeon's monsters will ignore one another.<ref name=":1" />
