== History == The Mefolk used to be under the protection of [[Khetieve]], the Dragonlord of Waves. When he disappeared following the [[Creler Wars]], their Sanctuaries stopped being safe. Krakens starting attacking, and Crelers destroyed the Moontide leypools, preventing them from recharging Khetieve's relics. They left and eventually joined [[Ailendamus]].<ref name=":0">[https://wanderinginn.com/2022/07/12/9-06/ Chapter 9.06]</ref> As part of the kingdom, they used to act as navigators and guides for the fleets called Merven Leaders.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/03/29/interlude-the-spitoon/ Interlude - The Spitoon]</ref> Ailendamus also provides them with pure water.<ref name=":2" />
