'''Richard Davenport''' is an [[Earthers|Earther]] [Knight] who was summoned with sixty others to the [[Blighted Kingdom]] by the [[Othius the Fourth|Blighted King]], in the hopes that they would be able to defeat their eternal enemies, the [[Demons]].

== Appearance ==
Richard has dark skin.<ref name="1.00C" /> He sometimes wears a cowboy hat with his armor, though later his class consolidation granted him the ability to upgrade his armor into something resembling a space-suit.<ref name=":0" />

== Personality ==
Richard is one of the leaders of the Earther group in Rhir due to his charisma and consideration for others, as well as being the highest leveled amongst them.<ref name="1.00C">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/04/25/1-00-c/ Chapter 1.00 C]</ref> He is levelheaded and always looks out for everyone. He is described to have that "famous Southern courtesy," which allows him to get along with people. However, after a year of training and fighting Demons, Richard is shown to have less patience in dealing with others, shown by his irritation at some of the new Earthers acting like they were in a game as well as breaking up with his girlfriend [[Emily]] for refusing to have sex before marriage.<ref name=":0" /> While Richard is dedicated to helping defeat the Demons, he is wary of the Blighted Kingdom's attempts at indoctrination.

Richard Davenport is a young man from Texas.<ref name="gloss">[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/10/19/glossary/ The Wandering Inn Glossary]</ref> Richard learned how to ride when he grew up on a ranch in Mississippi.<ref name="1.00C" /><ref name=":7.34 C" /> 

== Chronology ==
Richard was summoned together with about 60 other [[Earthers]] by the Blighted King. After their first deadly encounters with monsters, he kept levelling up and was thrust into the role of a leader of the others, which he fulfilled together with [[Emily]], highest levelled [Mage] of the Earther group.<ref name="gloss" />

Richard was part of the chatroom discussion, arranged by [[BlackMage|[BlackMage]]], under the username of [[America Group|[America Group]]], representing the people he was summoned with.<ref name="Int-2">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/03/07/interlude-2/ Interlude - 2]</ref>

He and Emily became an item. While Emily and Tom couldn't stand each other, Richard kept being at least superficially friendly with Tom.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2018/05/01/1-02-d-2/ Chapter 1.02 C]</ref> This shaky friendship continued even when Tom gave mostly in to his insanity and Richard was one of the few people in the American group who didn't completely avoid Tom.

Lord [[Hayvon Operland]] considered Richard as the spokesperson for the Americans, allowing him more liberties in his mansion than the other Earthers and gifting him several powerful magical artifacts.<ref name=":7.34 C" />

Richad was with Lord Hayvon as they viewed the raid on the [[Village of the Dead]], and managed to persuade Hayvon, initially dismissive of the raid, to lend his skills to the adventurers.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/04/28/8-19-h/ Chapter 8.19 H]</ref>
