Seraphel travelled through Afiele in a carriage, on her way to her latest fiance, Earl Fallien of Ovena, in Noelictus. She was irate about the entire situation, and snapped at her [Handmaidens]. But the escort was ambushed by a cabal of [Necromancers], who mistook them for the entourage of Lord Lantal Afiele and his family. As the Thronebearers were outmached, she confronted the lead necromancer, explaining who she was and trying to leave with the knights through audacity while the fighting had ceased. However, the necromancer decided to kill them all anyways, even when she tried to bribe him with up to sixty thousand gold pieces. The attack resumed when Lantal and his men arrived, cutting down the undead and hounding the necromancers. After the battle, Lantal offered the hospitality of his home until a larger escort could be arranged.

She grew bored during her stay in Adreissel, waiting for the escort from Menorome. It would take three days to arrive due to a lack of movement Skills, as the armies were busy putting down Goblin raids and her fiance was engaged in a border conflict with Ailendamus. She was outraged at these slow responses and her father doing nothing to let Noelictus save face, but kept a polite demeanor in front of her hosts, who she found charming.
