Editing The Roots (Pt. 4)

* [[Rags]] and her group walk through the stone hallways getting ready to meet the Troll Queen but then suddenly collapses.

* At [[Goblinhome]], [[Poisonbite]] receives a note sent by [[Mrsha du Marquin|Mrsha]] and calls for any fast goblins to send the message to Rags in time for [[Rianchi]] to volunteer to do the run himself.

* Rags in a circuit faces against the torso, hand and head of the Old One before retreating back.

As [[Rags]] walks through the stone highways of the [[Kingdom of Deep and Song]], she thinks about all the encounters she has had in the past when she had to run away or hide rather than facing the adversary head on. As she continues to walk Rags is hesitating whether coming down at all was a good idea at all, she then hears the drumming of the Queen of the [[Trolls]], [[Dulat]], whose people came with a plea for assistance. With only more questions to ask Rags decides to advance forwards but they slowly lose the capacity of their senses the deeper they go as an overwhelming, rhythmic thumping traveling throughout their path. Rags collapses and wakes up in the memories of [[Velan]] of when he was still a [[Goblin Lords|Goblin Lord]] and the leader of the [[Goblin's Lament Company]] of [[Baleros]] walking through the same stone pathways Rags and her cohort are currently trekking through. Velan then speaks into a mirror for those that follow in his footsteps in the search of truth, he says that the truth does not lay in the depth where the Folk of Deep and Song reside and to leave them be. That even further below resides a gate that should remain closed which seals the [[Walled Cities|Walled City]] of Graves, [[Liscor's Dungeon|Liskaldreth]], and for the truth of [[Goblins]] and [[Goblin Kings]] to be found in places older, to where [[Elves]] and [[Gnomes]] once lived.

Rags awakens and reveals to her group that she had a vision from Velan, simultaneously her [Shaman] [[Taganchiel]] had a vision from [[Tallis]] the Stormbreaker, Velan's [Shaman]. Trying to get back on track Rags spoke to the Trolls in their tongue that they were delayed by goblin matters. With rising hope the trolls gives information about the enemy that they're facing, five things trying to become one that came from beyond the Old Doors. Trying to call for back up Rags [Memo]'d [[Poisonbite]] but something is blocking the skill from sending the message, so she backtracks until she was able to send the message leaving [[Redscar]] in command when he arrives from his flight. They arrive at the main camp after being assaulted by the numerous creatures that reside in the underground, she notes the architecture of the buildings, their rusty steel weaponry and the drums that can be felt reverberating throughout the cavern walls. Rags is struck by the smell that encompass the large central camp and finds to see a line of trolls laying on the ground infested with insects, with great trepidation Rags goes on to meet with the Troll Queen. As Rags does her introductory talks by complementing how mighty this tribe of trolls are, Dulat took offense by that remark and told Rags ''to remember'' what their greatness once was. Then to get ready to meet death and decide if the goblins will help them with their plight or will the trolls die alone.

While those at [[Goblinhome]] are antsy waiting for something to attack them, [[Rianchi]] enocunters [[Gothica]] and [[Asgra]] being impeded by [[Venasteel]] about a letter they are trying to send to Rags. Rianchi opens the letter to read it and immediately rushes to Poisonbite to share what it says, Posionbite then calls for any and all fast goblins to head for the Troll tunnels but all current options are too slow to reach in time. That is when Rianchi steps in and says he's the fastest with his enchanted mountain bike and is able to make the journey to where Rags is at.

Rags and the Troll Queen march towards the Old Gates to where the major threat resides. As they move along Rags asks questions yet the trolls rebuff her to ''remember'' and are dismayed that the goblins are not what they thought they would be. Hopeful in getting some answers Rags is put to sleep to see what the trolls were like in the past from the memories. Rags sees flashes that showed remnants of a once more prosperous nation of Trolls, then to a memory of a meeting of three kings; ones of Trolls, of [[Gnolls]] and of [[Dwarves]]. As the group gets closer to the Old Gates it is noticed that while the area looks more developed compared to the rest of the passages it is considerable more abandoned, after encountering a number of putrid things they gear up with their masks. A question of how the Old Gates where opened was raised and the Trolls replied that something cut through it, Rags determines that when that happened lines up with the battle at the Winter Solstice. They then confront the sounds of clashing ahead of them, Rags orders her group to get ready for scouting and throws a [Light] spell that reveals troll warriors battling against an [[Mortemdefieir Titan|Old One]]. Rags and the group starts to engage the shambling amalgam of flesh and bone yet all the damage they have done was for not since it continues to regenerate. A retreat is called once it's figured out that for every beat of the heart within the torso [Drain Life] is used, they head towards in the direction of the next "thing" to confront. They come to find trolls battling against a hand, they manage to make the hand fall into a small chasm but it would only delay it for so long, they then decide to advance to the head next.

Rags felt like it was madness trying to fight against the head since for every time it spoke some effect to the surrounding area would happen. As they were getting ready to face against the head, the head then revealed it knew about their position the entire time and was ready to counterattack until it realized that Rags and others were running away. On the retreat back Rags was able to [Memo] to Rianchi and got informed about his situation and how he survived his fall. Gaining the information from [[Mrsha du Marquin|Mrsha's]] Letter Rags reassess the situation in regards their capability to combat the Old One and pleads with the Troll Queen to abandon their home and let someone else deal with it. Dulat disagrees with that notion and that the trolls will die fighting for their home rather than becoming vagrants wandering from place to place. Rags leaves the underground to head towards [[The Wandering Inn]] with thoughts of what to do plaguing her mind.
