Beth Scastein is the copied mind of Geneva Scala in the body of a Selphid.
Appearance edit edit source
In her true Selphid form, Beth resembles a wriggling mass of tendrils. She has possessed a number of dead bodies, including Human and Lizardfolk.
Personality edit edit source
Though cloned from Geneva Scala, Beth has become her own distinct individual rather than a mirror of the original. Both Genevas share a fierce dedication to saving lives, but whereas the original Geneva is driven to researching long-term medical solutions as a [Doctor], Beth gravitates toward immediate action. She prefers racing from crisis to crisis as a [Medic], focused on saving whoever is in front of her. She is more willing to use radical procedures such as harvesting and grafting skin - something that unnerved Geneva - though she still retains the original's dedication to the Hippocratic Oath of doing no harm.[1] She is noticeably pushy, to the point of chasing after Foliana to perform a medical diagnosis.
In contrast to Geneva’s intensity, Beth is noticeably more relaxed and has "cheered up," even practicing flirting at a bar.[2] She has jokingly described Geneva as a "medical Terminator," showing some self-awareness.[3] She seems to have accepted her new existence as a Selphid, evident by her taking on a new name. However, Okasha has noted that Beth seems isolated, not being born a Selphid and no longer able to relate to other Humans as she once did.[2]
