Chapter 4.21 E

Jelov is an old [Carver] that migrated from Windrest to Riverfarm.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Jelov is a bearded old man, the oldest Laken had ever seen in this world, with a limb and bad posture that sprays spit whenever he talks.[1]

Personality[edit | edit source]

When he is desperate and insecure he talks in a timid way, but it goes away when he starts talking about his love of the craft, were he talks excitedly and with pride.[1]

Background[edit | edit source]

He is an old [Carver] woodworker, that makes toys and other carving in Windrest village. He has a daughter and a granddaughter.[1]

Chronology[edit | edit source]

Draft of the Totem Symbol of the Unseen Empire

Laken Godart let him carve the token markers and signposts of the Unseen Empire, which he adorned with Laken's symbol, the all-seeing Eye of Providence. Jelov, and also some apprentices, carved lots of these markers, but later also made a very lucrative side-business with carving smaller versions to sell among the people of Riverfarm.

Laken had to admonish him for that, and had him gift the gold he earned that way, to the community of Riverfarm.[2]

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

As a [Carver] woodworker he can carve wooden toys, hilts, handles, etc. He can do detailed woodwork and etch illustrated with letters and so on. His etching is so good that people think that he is writing mage symbols, when they’re nothing but scribbling on the bark.

He can carve a few fancy shapes into a wooden pole with a square about a hand-and-a-half wide in each direction and eight feet high, in a day or two.

He can fletch too, although if it’s not with a carving knife, he will be slower.[1]

Classes/Levels:[edit | edit source]

  • [Carver] Lv. ?[1]
  • [Carpenter] Lv. ?[2]

Skills:[edit | edit source]

Weakness:[edit | edit source]

Due to his old age, he cant hold an axe, much less lift all that weight.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • (To Laken) “Ooh, now that’s occult, sire. Feels like it’s staring at me, so it does. And them little lines—are they bricks?”
