Nelgaunts are large friendly sea-creatures, a cross between a catfish and a whale.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Nelgaunts look to be a combination of a catfish and a whale, but with long tendrils for arms. They are large sea-faring creatures with shark-like hide, but the baleen of a whale instead of teeth.[1] Though they are large, they are smaller than Sea Serpents.[2]
Habits[edit | edit source]
Nelgaunts are known to be friends of ships; sea-friends. They are friendly, peaceful creatures who are often found playing with dolphins. Nelgaunts feed on small fish and Krill and only attack when harmed. They swim with other fishes and look out for one another, a strategy born of living in the same seas as Reefeyes and other dangerous sea-creatures.[1]
More intelligent and friendly than dolphins, Nelgaunts can wave their long tendril-arms at passing sailors, be trained to partner and assist [Sailors], and understand the common tongue.[1]
