Paethex was a commander of a exploration fleet from a galaxy spanning empire. When they entered Avalon—the Lands of the Fae—they struggled to combat the magic of the realm with their advanced technology. She met Ryoka and gave her the Faeblade. Ryoka told her to trade for the stick of the Dragon of the Trash Heap.[1] She now uses that stick to win space battles with no contest.
