Relationships[edit | edit source]

Erin Solstice[edit | edit source]

Klbkch[edit | edit source]

Lyonette du Marquin[edit | edit source]

When Erin is in Celum, Lyonette is left at the inn to fend for herself, and Pawn is one of the only visitors to give her any attention or help.[1] Pawn helped Lyonette, and Lyonette helped Pawn as well. Lyonette provided meals to Pawn's soldiers during their first excursion above-ground. She and Mrsha also helped Pawn create the first Painted Antinium.[2] Erin would eventually come back, but the two maintained a friendship over time. Lyonette gave Pawn advice on how to lead using her experience as a [Princess].[3]

At another low point for Lyonette, she became so absorbed in the inn-life that she temporarily lost her [Princess] class. Pawn again helped her with this by organizing a ball and helping to fix her mentality to recover the class. Along with the restoration of Lyonette's class, the two recognized that each others feelings were more than as friends and began a romantic relationship.[4] This relationship continued for months much to the disdain of Mrsha, but it suffered a major hitch with the death of Erin. At this point the two move in separate directions to try and revive her, and once they finally do, the relationship between them is not the same. Pawn confronted Lyonette on her avoiding him eventually, and she admits that she wants to break up with him.[5]

Ryoka Griffin[edit | edit source]

Zel Shivertail[edit | edit source]

Pawn was one of the few Antinium who was tolerated by Zel Shivertail. They first interacted when both Pawn and Zel were part of the expedition force to restore Esthelm, where Pawn requests advice from Zel on how to lead. Although Zel is initially resistant to Pawn's requests, after Pawn asks Zel how to comfort a dying soldier, Zel slowly instructed Pawn.[6]

When Pawn was first leading the Painted Soldiers to fight in defense of the Hive, Zel came over and provided advice to Pawn on how to lead his soldiers as a General.[3]

Painted Soldiers[edit | edit source]

Pawn creates the group of Antinium now known as the Painted Soldiers when he first speaks about Christian religion to the Antinium soldiers. Afterwards, Klbkch assigns that group of soldiers to his command. Pawn comes up with the idea of using paint to give each Antinium soldier an identity, as the soldiers are unable to speak and therefore take up names.

Pawn cares deeply about the Painted Soldiers. When the first soldiers fall, he creates the memorial wall, where the painted symbols representing the fallen soldier is drawn.[7]
