From The Wandering Inn Wiki

This page hosts discussion and ideas on how the Navigation Menu of the wiki should be structured and ordered. The current layout can be found at MediaWiki:Sidebar. The old wiki used nested menus within its dropdown menus, while the new wiki simply puts navigation items under sub-headings, so some changes to the menu are up for discussion.

Note to Admins, "Special Pages" and "Upload file" aren't defined by the MediaWiki:Sidebar, but can be re-ordered by CSS.

The order if we keep the same categories: Navigation -> [Wiki Warriors] -> Terminology -> The Innverse -> The Wandering Inn -> Liscor -> Sovereigns.

Ideally, I would suggest keeping seven categories with a maximum of 8 things in it. I will put more things in some suggestions for debate. I didn't put the more spoilery characters that truly appears later (like Yazdil and Kevin/Joseph)

The Wandering Inn: The Wandering Inn (V2+ Building), The Wandering Inn (V1 Building) Erin, Lyon, Mrsha, Bird, NT, Ishkr, Drassi, Calescent

Liscor: Liscor (city), Klbkch, Relc, Krshia, Lism, Olesm, Selys, Zevara, Drassi

Sovereigns: Magnolia, Flos, Othius the Fourth, Laken, Fetohep, Tyrion, Niers, Rags. I don't like that category, because I feel it's a subject not seen enough.

Here is some new categories suggestions:

Earthers: Earthers (page), Erin, Ryoka, Geneva, Laken, Trey, Teresa, Aaron, Thomas, Cara

Adventurers: Adventurers (page), Horns of Hammerad, Griffon Hunt, Halfseekers, Silver Swords, Saliss, Vuliel Drae, Elia/Arcsinger's Bows, Bushrangers

Main Characters: Erin, Ryoka, Horns of Hammerad, Geneva, Mrsha, Trey, Laken, Pawn

I like that, even if I'm still not sure Sovereign is really needed, too.

And Adventurer Teams instead of Adventurers, so we don't have Saliss sitting there like a sore thumb :p We have plenty of Adventurer Teams to fill that menu :)

Tobe honest, one of the team I put Adventurers is because of case like Gazi, Saliss, Tessa that are seen or talked about more often than some background-like adventurers. Flamewardens and Wings of Pallass could be put there, but I feel they are more background elements than those solo adventurers with plot relevancy. Also, the case could be made for some adventurers in those teams (like Calruz, Colth, Halrac, Garen) to have their own solo subcategories as they have relevance for their own stuff. That's why I suggested Elia or her team.

I've created this page since those of us on the Discord were discussing this. It's ultimately up to the wiki admins (who are the ones with the ability to edit that Nav menu) on how they'd like to format it.

Perhaps they'd like to discuss internally or open the discussion for the community, but I'm leaving it up to them. A good first task for the new wiki!

Some suggestions :

- Remove sovereigns since it's actually a list of high-level/important characters but not all are sovereigns (Teriarch isn't) - Maybe replace Yellow Splatters by Drassi in Liscor (Yellow Splatters appears later in the story if I remember correctly) - Liscor should be moved next to "The Wandering Inn" since it lists characters - Add Adventuring Teams with some important teams : Horns, Griffon Hunt, Halfseekers...
