The Blighted Kingdom is a nation in Rhir locked in eternal war with the Demon Kingdom. Its crest is of a crown-like bastion wall, like a rook chess piece, rising out of rot and hovering over a cracked, broken wasteland. == History == After the end of the Creler Wars, some of its heroes founded a nation to stand as a deterrent against future calamities from leaving Rhir. It was known as the Kingdom of Blight's End in its earliest form, which consisted of a colony and a wall. The Blighted Kingdom has been at war with the Demon Kingdom for thousands of years, and although neither side is able to overwhelm the other, the Blighted Kingdom is slowly losing. The Blighted Kingdom has been known to be friendly with Imperiums when they rise to power, due to the reinforcements it recieves from them. The last great battle between them was sparked when the half-Elf village of Arruif Yal was destroyed, seemingly at the hands of the Death of Magic to reclaim a Demon they had nursed back to health. A great alliance of nations sent their armies to aid the Blighted Kingdom, which was broken but managed to kill two of the Deathless and incapacitate the other three for a hundred years. This resulted in a stalemate between the two sides. Just before the First Antinium War, the Antinium overran the Blighted Kingdom, taking every wall but the first, which they didn't attempt to breach. They stole every ship they could get a hold of and left for another continent. The Blighted King intended to have a Fifth wall build, allowing the Kingdom to nearly double their available land and cripple the tide of monsters that harassed their exposed settlements. However, to do that he needed more powerful soldiers, hence he summoned the Heroes. To his dismay, though, they weren't powerful warrior as he wished them to be, thus put his plans for the time being on hold. == Geography == The Blighted Kingdom is located in southern Rhir. Their territory consists of a third of Rhir. Their most prominent city is the capital Paranfer, located in the southwest of the kingdom. == Layout == The Kingdom is protected by four giant stone walls described to be twice the height of the Great Walls of China. The four walls are the ultimate defense for the kingdom, with magical traps and artillery built into the wall, and always manned by the best soldiers in the army. All monster attacks end at the wall, and the Kingdom behind it is relatively stable. In times of war, the Fourth, Third, and Second walls have been breached, but First Wall has never fallen, with even the Demon Kingβs army never got past it. However, they managed to bypass that wall by teleporting directly into the King's castle, in the first year after the [[Americans|[Heroes]]] were summoned. === First Wall === The First Wall was erected about over 5000 years ago, at the same time as the capital, Paranfer, when the newest Blighted Kingdom was founded. 1st Wall today made of golden glowing crystals, 40 feet high, and warded with extremely powerful spells. === Second Wall === The Second Wall lies in the center of a two mile wide Death Zone of cold wards that can freeze people to death within just a minute. Patrol paths in the zone are magically heated, but only within a rigid patrol schedule. === Third Wall === Behind and near the Third Wall, there are breeding grounds for deer. Lord Hayvon's estates are located around there. The area beyond 3rd Wall regularly sees monsters, and Demon raids even cross 3rd Wall sometimes. === Fourth Wall === Fourth Wall is an eighty feet high curtain-style wall made of grey stone, and wide as a regular fortress. It is possible and necessary to move troops on top of the battlements, in order to fend off entire war groups of demons who regularly attack the fortifications. Commanding officers deployed here are through the bench paranoid. 4th Wall is currently under the command of Bastion-General Quiteil, and has extremely large stockpiles of supplies. The Bastion-General of the 4th Wall is considered the highest-ranking member of the military, as it's the most important Wall. === Fifth Wall === There is a Fifth Wall being under construction, a hundred miles further from the borders of the 4th Wall. It consists of a merely thirty feet high preliminary wall, but the actual wallworks is a 1000 feet deep moat protected by that preliminary wall, and still being shaped. The protective, preliminary construction is under constant attacks by demon siege and sappers who have damaged many parts of the barrier. Once 5th Wall is finished, King Othius is resolved to move forward the front lines to a sixth wall, and so forth, until the Demon King is cornered in the last remaining part of Rhir. The Blighted Kingdom also buried anti-magic for hundreds of miles, even saturating the coastline, killing magic along the Fifth Wall all the way to the Fourth Wall. This was done to counter Silvenia. The effects is that it will poison the ground, inhibiting the magical growth of every person living there, and make every Tier 4 spells feel like Tier 1 spells. Even Tier 7 spells fired over the Fifth Wall will lose power so fast that they will not pass the Third Wall. Until the attack by Demons under command of the Deathless of Magic, Fifth Wall was under Command of Bastion General Zavarial. === Cities: === Paranfer, the capital of the Blighted Kingdom, is under command of Citadel General Delken. === Villages: === * Karaz == Economy == The Blighted Kingdom possesses great crafters, smiths and mages. However, its main focus is agriculture and food production, which feeds their army. The Blighted Kingdom is famous for its [Flesh Reaper] class, which are specialized [Butchers] that sell flesh of Demons. They have excellent farmers that are able to work Rhir's inhospitable land. They import a wealth of other goods, such as metal and weapons from Pallass. They receive funds from almost every other nations along with the tithe of soldiers. For example, Roshal regularly donates vast stores of goods to the Blighted Kingdom, as free Djinni are among the demon forces. == Military Strength == Being in a state of constant war on the most inhospitable continent in the world, their adventurers and soldiers are some of the best the worldβs seen. They spend massive amounts of wealth supplying and maintaining their military, and they are supported by nearly every nation in the world, through reinforcements, donations, or resources. They have an arsenal of high Tier spell scrolls built up over thousands of years, and are more willing to use them than other nations. They receive about one of of every ten spell scrolls an Archmage makes. King Othius' military Skills are usually reserved to counter the Demon King's Skills and the Deathless. They craft deadly artifacts called Deathslayer Arrows. They come in variants that can detonate, have more potent effects, or seek targets. The Seeker variant is cursed and will pierce through anything, can split to pursue multiple targets, and phase through reality to hit inside dimensional Skills. One fired shot can travel to another continent to hit its target. Only the seeker variant is rarely gifted to allies. Notable forces of the Blighted Kingdom include Shel's Cleansenborne led by Queen Coretine, and Gloomless Troupe led by the [Hero] Tom. The Cleansenborne are one of the largest, toughest, and most skilled warrior groups on Rhir. Members are trained from youth and cannot quit. They are also massive, some reaching eight feet in height, perhaps due to acquiring the traits of their leader, the Queen. The Gloomless Troupe is composed of mad, laughing [Jesters], [Tricksters], [Fools], and [Clowns] imitating their leader. Their bright outfits make them targets, and they charge into the enemy, hacking at them until one is dead. They're considered as bad as Fearless Demons and have been known to charge even Crelers, but they level fast. The Blighted Kingdom trains [Necromancers] corps. They are equipped with bone armor and field skeletal warriors, even Bone Behemoths. They don't reanimate the dead unless needed. Their Bone Behemoths are armored with bone and armed with massive bone maces, and one can easily take down a regular Bone Behemoth. As they are able to mend damage to the giant, it lets them use a dispersible, regenerating giant-class fighter which can be used for extensive service. Skeleton archers climb it to provide supporting fire, and the undead horde is self-sustaining from the death-magic they passively generate. They still have support units to help maintain the force, and can be linked to the Walls' mana reservoirs if needed. [Necromancers] trained in the Kingdom's schools must study an advanced undead before they're allowed to animate the dead. The undead bodies are provided by volunteers. Bodies may also be donated to [Golem Artificers] and Blood Mages. Their [Beast Masters] train not only combat animals such as Wyverns, but also smaller animals like Waisrabbits and Goldflake Pigs to use as scouts. == Inhabitants == * Royal Family ** Othius the Fourth, Blighted King **Coretine.
