== Overview == The Bloodtear Pirates are considered a ''Vessal'', ships with an individual or crew to merit them above the other ships of Innworld. They are considered crazy even by other [Pirates]. They are famous for slaughtering their opponents, and taking no prisoners. They seek combat, willing to challenge strong opponents like Gold-ranked adventurers for the sport of it, and paying back insults with blood.<ref name=":1" /> Despite their famous reputation, they keep to a code of conduct, and are unwilling to kill innocents.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/04/22/interlude-strategists-at-sea-pt-2/ Interlude β Strategists at Sea (Pt. 2)]</ref> They also love display of courage<ref name=":1">[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/11/21/8-53-fh/ Chapter 8.53 FH]</ref> and admire those who did the impossible.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/09/23/7-49/ Chapter 7.49]</ref> Such as in the case of [[Worroar]] the Waterbear of Celun, whom they invited the onto their ships to share a drink, after seeing her survive the sinking of her ship during a magical hurricane, even when she was carrying valuable cargo. They are an egalitarian group whose members have many origins. The newer, untested members are called Newbloods. Otherwise, ranking within the Bloodtear Pirates is based solely on how a member is at killing, with no difference in treatment among the crew. They have a few rules, such as not killing each other without a good reason, not killing children, and not doing "foul things".<ref name=":2">[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/10/28/9-64-bh/ Chapter 9.64 BH]</ref> The Bloodtear Pirates had three armadas of ships, composed of thirty-two ships at most. One of them was destroyed by the [[Iron Vanguard]] recently.<ref name=":2" /> They use a variety of vessels, from sloops and smaller to large ships only smaller than Citadel-class. Their ships are known to be elusive, the reason for it being that several of their ships are also established trading vessels, and blend in with groups of merchant ships.<ref name=":4">[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/10/24/9-63/ Chapter 9.63]</ref> The Bloodtear Pirates also own one of the Tide Skills, the Third Tide.<ref name=":2" />
