== Overview ==
The kingdom borders [[Kaliv]]. The two kingdoms together with [[Gaiil-Drome]] were, 28 years ago, part of an alliance against seven other nations, most prominent among those the powerful [[Ailendamus]].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/09/14/6-44-e/ Chapter 6.44 E]</ref> This alliance is known as the Dawn Concordat and stands to this day.

== Background ==
Calanfer has once usurped one of the sixteen [[Dragonthrones]] and built their country around it.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/03/15/7-12-g/ Chapter 7.12 G]</ref> When it was founded, the lands used to be ruined by the [[Crelers]].

The country claims to have its roots roughly 6,000 years in the past, right after the end of the [[Creler Wars]], which means they are a very young nation by Terandrian standards<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/06/10/7-28/ Chapter 7.28]</ref> that needs to boast their claims with attributes like eternal<ref name=":6.03">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/03/30/6-03/ Chapter 6.03]</ref>. The ruler of Calanfer occupies the Eternal Throne of Calanfer, and [[Lyonette du Marquin]] is the sixth princess in line to that throne.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/05/14/2-21/ Chapter 2.21]</ref>

== Military ==
As previously mentioned, Calanfer does not have a powerful military, being more adept at diplomacy and politics. It can levy twenty thousand [Soldiers] and [Militia].<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/02/10/8-06-rt/ Chapter 8.06 RT]</ref> Their knight order, the [[Thronebearers of Calanfer]], are better at courtly affairs and bodyguard duty than they are at combat on a battlefield. That said, they have achieved surprising victories in the past, like holding off four armies at Krawlnmak’s Pass.

Calanfer's champion, the Lightherald, is considered as strong as a Named rank adventurer thanks to the Relics he wields.
