Chapter 1.07 is the 8th chapter of Volume 1. == tl;dr == Erin makes baskets out of grass and learns from observing Goblins how to tell good and bad blue fruit apart. While she waits for her previous guests, a skeletal creature forces its way into the inn. == Synopsis == Erin wakes up smiling and has breakfast. Then she goes to the blue fruit trees and crafts a basket out of grass. She collects some blue fruit and then fails to steal more eggs from another Dino Bird. She decides to wash out the bite marks she got with river water. Thanks to the blue fruit seeds, the rock crabs don't pose a problem for her. When she returns to the inn, she has to throw up from food poisoning. She runs to the river, puking several times on her way there, and started gargling water there. She finds out it is poisonous as one fish that nibbled her puke dies. After a bit of experimenting it is clear to her that blue fruits can go bad and become rather poisonous, but she can't tell them apart for now. Erin hides behind a hill as six Goblins appear to collect water and blue fruits as well. But she left her basket behind. The smallest Goblin suspects that Erin made the basket, as she has been sighted around the blue fruit tree grove before, but the other five goblins don't believe her. She gets kicked into the stream but manages to get out. One of the older goblins uses [Detect Poison] to tell the good fruits apart from the bad ones, but the smallest goblin figures out a way without Skills. After the Goblins are gone, Erin needs some time to figure out the difference the smallest Goblin had found: Bad fruits were leaking juice. She returns back to her inn as something is watching her. Back in her inn Erin does some cleaning and wait for her guests from yesterday, Relc and Klbkch, to appear again. Meanwhile in the watch barracks, these two try to sign off, but keep getting delayed by work, making it impossible for them to return this evening. Erin almost falls asleep in her inn as something knocks on her door. Something with an echoing voice demands entry and sustenance, a skeletal creature. Erin tries to deny it, but it manages to push the door open. Erin throws a cooking pot at it. == Characters == ( * = First Appearance) * Erin Solstice * Goblins ** six in total, three armed, three not ** one being the one she slapped1.04 ** one being the smallest goblin that had observed her1.04 ** one female with a spider's claw as a hairpin in her black hair * Senior Guardsman Relc * Senior Guardsman Klbkch * Watch Captain Z * * several unnamed [Guards] * skeletal creature == Locations == * Erin's inn * Plains ** grove of Amentus trees ** Stream a few hundred feet away from the inn * Nearby city ** Watch barracks == Creatures == * Dino Bird * Rock Crabs * flat fishes * big spiders (referenced) == Items == * baskets woven out of grass * blue fruit * cooking pot == Statistics Obtained == === Hairpin Goblin === * Class = [Gatherer] * Skills = [Detect Poison] == Quotes == * (Erin Solstice to herself): βAnd all because of that little Goblin.
