==tl;dr==
[[Ryoka]] receives advice from [[Hawk]] and [[Valceif]]. [[Erin]] and [[Olesm]] play many games against the [[Niers Astoragon|mysterious chess player]], who becomes intrigued by Erin's skill.

== Synopsis ==
The morning after the impromptu iPhone concert, it turns out that Erin has perfect recall of every song she ever heard. She tests that ability, and also her magical chessboard. However, she yields the first play against the unknown opponent to Olesm, who had spent the night in Ceria's room. All other patrons of the inn make their way to the city after breakfast.

Ryoka and Val make some rounds outside and talk about running. As Ryoka mentions her run down south to the [[Bloodfields]], Val calls Hawk to join them so the local courier can tell Ryoka something about the area, and they have a chat.

Back at the Wandering Inn, Olesm is defeated three times in a row by the unknown opponent, then Erin takes a turn and wins four games in a row to Olesm's joy and marvel.

Far away from Liscor, Niers Astoragon sits alone in his tent, in the middle of a battle against his adversaries, and concentrates on the counterpart chessboard to Erin's, only reinforcing his soldiers once and leaving the battle in the capable hands of his lieutenants otherwise. He wishes to learn who beat him today.
