Djinni are one of the Races of InnWorld. == Physiology == They are able to assume any appearance, though the extent varies individually. Djinn are composed of magic. As such, when a Djinn casts magic, they are creating from themselves. Each Djinn has a nature that determines their magic and power, such as Shockmist or Aethertravel. ==== Lifespan ==== Functionally Immortal. ==== Types ==== * Shockmist * Aethertravel * Manasource * Nightair === Magical Qualities === As with all people, their magical qualities varies, with some being as powerful as [Archmages]. Even the weakest among them are able to match Silver-ranked adventurers. They use excess mana to reproduce and grow. === Special Abilities === === Weaknesses === As they are almost pure magic, only spells can slay them. The anti-magic properties of Naq-Alrama Steel can also harm and kill them. Lastly, a powerful enough aura can allow one to touch a Djinni. Consuming Raw Magicore will harm a Djinni by absorbing their quality, taking away a part of them and causing them to lose memories. If it is done enough times, they will regress to a state similar to a newborn. Some of Roshal's masters are said to be knowledgeable enough to choose what is taken and replace it with what they want, modifying the Djinni to their preference. == Subraces == === Jinn === Jinn are/were their half-mortal kin. == Behavior and Culture == Djinni are a race whose members are all enslaved. They are bound to a master by a spoken magical contract - but only to the letter, not the spirit. Most masters take extreme care with the wording of those contracts, often taking multiple days to speak aloud in their entirety. The contracts cover extreme extenuating circumstance, especially if the Djinni is expected to be forced to do combat. In response, Djinni usually put a great deal of effort to finding a loophole that allows them to take vengeance on their slaver. Djinni can be freed from enslavement, but are hunted down by nearly every nation and state when they are, due to their free existence being considered a massive threat. They tend to call each other 'Brother' or 'Sister.' Djinni acknowledge Cinaelu as a holiday. == Background == Djinn are mostly found in Chandrar, who appear to be "sometimes humanoid, sometimes outlandish shapes that are half-corporeal, embodying the element of air or fire or some other aspect." They are apparently bound to magical artifacts, but Flos considers them too untrustworthy to integrate them into his military. == History == During the God War, Djinni were present on both sides. During Roshal's golden age, there were still free Djinni on Chandrar, and they fought to free their kin. In the modern era, all Djinni have been enslaved save for those that joined the Demons of Rhir. == Relations == Djinni do not like being enslaved. Many lament the extinction of their half-mortal kin, the Jinn. === Demons === The Demons are the only people openly allied with the Djinni. Thus free Djinni have joined the Demon Kingdom, as it is the only place they would not be hunted down and recaptured or killed. == Known Djinni == * Azam’du (Free) * Couilekurne (Free) * Coutei-Dinai * Czautha’qshe (Free) * Drenirkesun <span style="color:grey;">(Deceased)</span> * Heorth * Hisaille <span style="color:grey;">(Deceased)</span> * Karsaeu-Dequoa * Kisore (Free) * Maef * Mak’erieen * Qin’tevf’al <span style="color:grey;">(Deceased)</span> * Seemutor == Trivia == * Enslaved Djinni aren't allowed at Wistram Academy as their binding spells can interfere with magic, and there are too many things for them to exploit. *It is illegal to use Djinni in warfare on Chandrar. == References == <references />
