The '''Heat Soup''' (also known as '''Corusdeer Soup''' or '''Magical Soup''') was the first magical dish prepared by [[Erin Solstice]] with her <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[Wondrous Fare]]] Skill, when she stayed at [[Octavia]]'s shop. == Ingredients == Necessary ingredients include a non-specified liquid as base for the soup - these preparations involve at least pepper<ref name="3.09">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/09/02/3-09/ Chapter 3.09]</ref> and water. Cooled-down carrots (either with cryo-magic, another cold agent, plain ice or cold gelatine, etc.) have to be added before following up with pulverized [[Corusdeer]] horn. Wheat flour as a binding agent is then added, ensuring a thicker soup.<ref name="2.46">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/22/2-39/ Chapter 2.46]</ref><ref name="2.47">[https://wanderinginn.com/2017/07/25/2-40/ Chapter 2.47]</ref> Some seasoning is optional - Erin used thyme once. Too many different spices ruin the mix. Much later, Erin intuited another recipe that yielded the same effects: Adding into a milk-and-butter base, several hot or spicy ingredients are added, among them peppers, fermented pepper base, a tiny bit of chocolate, dedem roots. The ''heat element'' in this recipe is represented by salamander skins, while [[Sageβs Grass]] also plays a role.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/06/10/7-28/ Chapter 7.28]</ref> This later recipe involved no Corusdeer horn, nor carrots, apparently. == Effects == The thick, orange soup stays warm for a long time. It is not only safe to eat (and tasting okay<ref name="2.47"/> at least) but able to warm people up from inside and magically stabilize their enhanced body temperature so that they emit heat: Ryoka was then able to run barefoot and lightly clothed in winter for hours with no ill effects, aside from melting the snow wherever she touched it. Erin could ''thin'' the recipe: too much carrots and not enough pepper would lessen the duration of the effects.<ref name="3.09" /> == Usages == After Erin devised the recipe in [[Chapter 2.47|Ch 2.47]] with some helpful hints from [[Teriarch]],<ref name="2.46" /> [[Ryoka Griffin|Ryoka]] used the soup to warm up in the following chapters as well: [[Chapter 2.48|Ch 2.48]], [[Chapter 3.03|Ch 3.03]], [[Chapter 3.09|Ch 3.09]]... ''<list to be completed>''. In [[Chapter 7.28]], Erin re-invented the recipe. == References == <references /> [[Category:Food]] [[Category:Magical Food]]
