== Appearance ==
Hexel has bright yellow scales.<ref name=":3" /> He possesses two Human-like arms; and a more bipedal upper body. While his lower, serpentine half is long, trailing behind him. While ‘standing’ he is at average height. == Personality ==
As a Lamia, Hexel is generally more mature and wiser than the average Lizardfolk by nature, though he retains their emblemetic cheerfulness.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/05/13/7-23-lm/ Chapter 7.23 LM]</ref> He was traumatized by a Drake attack that ended in the massacre of most of his team, leading to a general distrust of Drakes and a fear of the sight of blood.<ref name=":0">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/10/11/7-51/ Chapter 7.51]</ref><ref>[[Chapter 8.13 F]]</ref> However, he has displayed signs of recovery, especially after entering a relationship with [[Elirr Fultpar]]. He has a strict professional attitude, evident by his decision to continue on to Liscor after the attack, and maintains his nature with other Drakes, though with a slightly aggressive edge.<ref name=":A Night in the Inn" />

Hexel is highly intelligent, as befit his abilities as one of Baleros' greatest [Architects]. He can accomplish almost any task that he puts mind to, such as winning a chess game while blindfolded and tickled.<ref>[[Chapter 7.51]]</ref> He is innovative with his work, coming up with multiple plans for Liscor after a only preliminary look. 

== Background ==
Hexel specializes in cities that deal with water, and has designed a new palace in [[Terandria]], a city for the [[Iron Vanguard]], and three cities himself.<ref name=":1">[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/10/15/6-49/ Chapter 6.49]</ref>

In his younger years, he toured parts of Chandrar to look at some architectural marvels. He saw the [[Shield Kingdoms|Shield Kingdom]] Merreid and some of the forts made by [[Drevish]] at this time.<ref name=":0" />

===== Volume 6: =====
After Liscor's new council was established, they decided that change was needed for their city. One of these changes was hiring Hexel as a rather famous [Architect] to help design and redesign new sections of Liscor along with other help he could provide. Although there was initial disagreement, the council did eventually come to terms with the fact that he was the best option for their budget and needs.<ref name=":1" />

===== Volume 7: =====
It wasn't until later that Hexel finally did arrive at Liscor. He was attacked part-way through his journey and ended up losing many of his helpers, but he still agreed to stay with guarantees of protection. Hexel stayed at the Wandering Inn and also offered his services to [[Erin Solstice|Erin]] at this time.<ref name=":A Night in the Inn" />

Besides redesigning and overseeing the city building process, he was also available for other projects such as building soccer fields,<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/06/03/7-27/ Chapter 7.27]</ref> building containment units for the [[Raskghar|Raskhgar]],<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/10/14/7-52/ Chapter 7.52]</ref> and even helping design a secure entryway and security system for Erin's [[Magical Door]].<ref name=":2">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/11/22/7-60/ Chapter 7.60]</ref>

Throughout this whole designing process, Hexel was often in the company of [[Elirr Fultpar|Elirr]], one of Liscor's council members. They soon developed a relationship with one another which they had to keep secret due to the stigma against turnscales. This didn't stop others from finding out like [[Mrsha]], [[Krshia Silverfang|Krshia]], and [[Saliss Oliwing|Saliss]].<ref name=":0" />

After Erin's death, Hexel continued to stay at the inn seeing as how it was mainly used as living quarters for himself anyway. When [[Belavierr]] attacked though, he decided to find a safer and more private living space with Elirr.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/06/22/8-29/ Chapter 8.29]</ref>

His scales are larger than a [[Drakes|Drake]]’s, and his body is agile, with a form suited for intelligence and spellcasting.<ref name=":A Night in the Inn" /> His tail is powerful enough to squeeze a Drake to death.<ref name=":3">{{VERef|10.13}}</ref>
