Hraace is a Chandrarian nation that's notable for its history of creating [Heores]. ==Geography== Hraace is a pisturesque coastal nation on Chandrar's northeastern flank. Part of the nation is a peninsula with a sparkling green bay. It has a hot climate and drier than the neighbouring nation of Portems, despite its proximity to the sea which provides a stark constrat to the yellowed rockand sand. Its capital is located by the coast. ==Overview== Hraace is a nation that relies on the support of its past clients to exist and thrive. Its army is considered pitiful, depending on powerful patrons and their reputation as heromakers for wealth and protection. As such, its condition is considered tied to the state of Chandrar in general. The culture of Hraace is performative, the people behaving much like actors would. On the coast, Idolions protect the people in exchange for part of the fishers' catches. They defend the beaches against monsters, save people from drowning, and alert others when someone's collapsed. Due to experiencing starvation udner harsh Terandrian rule, Hraace's fishermen have a practice of releasing the biggest catches to ensure the local fish population remains nourishing. ==Mentorship== The Mentorship, also known as the Heromakers of Hraace, is the nation's governing body and the trainer of [Heroes], and is based in a big temple at the highest point of the capital. Though they are not a formal court and the hisghest ranking member, the Pedagogia, is not an undisputed ruler. They are devoted to training the finest of people. The Mentorship has a high reputation for their effectiveness, and it's considered a great honor to go to Hraace to be trained. Normally, people travel to Hraace three times a year to be vetted, during the summer, autumn, and winter. The evaluation would last a day or two, but rarely would go on for weeks or months. Most people found worth training, or paying for it during quieter periods, would receive intense specialized training for a short period, where besides making them fitter the mentors enhanced their strengths, shored up weaknesses, and taught them complementary skillsets. Tutors may then follow the candidate when they leave to keep training and teaching them. But if the applicant was deemed worthy and it was the right time that required it, the Mentorship would name them a [Hero]. The Mentorship also ventures across Chandrar to inspect likely candidates and train [Heores] that emerge outside of their purview. They also have a duty to prevent the wrong sort of person from becoming a [Hero]. The Mentorship also records history and spreads stories. Members of the Mentorship are skilled polymaths, able to physically keep up with seasoned warriors and teach a variety of subjects, and they are youthful and energetic even at an older age. Younger members of the Mentorship are called Followers, and they train to keep up with their clients and earn a higher ranking. They are expected to leave home are extended periods to keep training their candidates, to be good at a variety of talents, and to be able to surpass their limits. Members of Mentorship gain and lose ranking by making predictions and betting their reputations on their candidates. ==History== The Mentorship claims to have trained historical figures such as Khelta and Nerrhavia. Prior to the current era, Terandrian occupation was especially harsh on Hraace who had to tithe half of their fishing catches to the colonizers. They tried to raise two [Heroes] to free themselves, but both failed and died. In the current era, the rise of Doubte was missed by to previous Pedagogia, who resigned as a result. Meanwhile, Araxia saw Flos Reimarch's potential and trained him, becoming one of his early vassals. He would go on to conquer Chandrar and liberate it from Terandrian influence, earning her the position of Pedagogia. Among his Seven, they also trained Mars and Queravia, and they briefly taught Torreb as well. The current Mentorship has never made a [Hero]. ==Chronology== When Flos returned from his slumber, Hraace did not immediatly declare their alliegience for him, as it was dangerous to do so with the number of enemies he had, and he was now a mighty established king, not someone with untapped potential. Their reputation had also been dropping and were attempting to regain fame and notoriety, but struggled to adapt to the changing world of media kickstarted by the arrival of the Earthers. Flos sent the Horns of Hammerad (minus Ksmvr), Gazi, Trey, Teres, Nawalishifra Tannousin, and the Earthers under his control to be trained by the Mentorship. Most were given a few weeks of training, but Delitandra predicted that the Horns would become Named-rank, that most members would be individual Named-ranks and at least one would pass level 50. The Pedagogia Araxia would one-up her by predicting that one of them would be befitting of the [Hero] class and achieve feats worthy of the title, even if they never gain it. At the same time, Doubte travelled to Hraace to arrange training for his increasingly restless children so they could control their abilities. His overly-stiffling terms were rejected by Araxia, who proposed her own plan to help them become well-adjusted, which Doubte promised to consider. The Horns of Hammerad left Hraace early due to an invitation from Queen Yisame, via arranged transport on Reizue's Dream. Delitandra and five other mentors managed to get on the flying carpet before they escaped, intent on following them to keep training them and see the Pedagogia's prediction succeed or fail. == Notable Inhabitants == * Araxia * Delitandra * Medacium ==Trivia== ==References==
