Humans are one of the Races of Innworld. They are the most common and widespread race in all of Innworld. == Physiology == === Appearances === Humans look like oversized Fraerlings: They have a Centaur-like torso and odd legs, which resemble those of Half-Elves. === Physical Qualities === Curiously, while the years on Innworld are longer, humans age at a rate that matches it. An eight year-old from Innworld will look the same age as an eight year-old from Earth, rather than being older. ==== Magical Qualities ==== Humans are not known for exceptional magic and don't have innate powers, but talented ones may level as [Mages] and related classes. Humans are also one of the few races to have equal experience in both Shamanic & Mage magic. Meaning that their civilizations can produce both, though those civilizations usually lean towards one over the other. == Variations == Like all races, basic Humans may become Drowned People and gain drowned attributes. Humans may also become [Fleshchosen], which makes them have pointy teeth. Two subsets of humans with special attributes are known to exist, one from the nation of Tourvecall, known as the Spellbound & one from the nation of Golaen, who all have giant blood in their veins. These two subsets are more due to environmental adaptations and special lineage rather than any special heritage of humanity. Another subset of Humans are Vampires, who are not actual Undead but lose the ability to gain Classes in the normal fashion, through hardship and experience. Werewolves also exist. Most Humans are natives of Innworld. Some Humans have been summoned from Earth: It is not known if the so called Earthworlders are somehow different from Innworlders, although there are no indications towards that. As a function of their classes, the [King of Men] and [Prince of Men] of Erribathe have a longer lifespan, from their half-Elven consorts giving them half of their longevity. == Habitat == They are the overwhelmingly dominant race of Terandria and Northern Izril, where only white Humans live (those who would be called "Caucasian" on Earth). As the majority, Humans put considerable pressure on the Half-Elven and Dwarven minorities there. Their race is also dominant in Chandrar, where they compete with String People and in some places Garuda. On this southern Continent, "darker" skin colors have been reported with Humans, although it has not been confirmed how bronzed or dark their skin tones may get. In Baleros, Humans are a tolerated minority among Dullahans, Centaurs and Lizardfolk, and many other minorities. In Rhir, the Blighted Kingdom is predominantly Human. Humans are also a major faction in Wistram. The Humans of the Drath Archipelago, called the Drathians, resemble people of Earth's Asia. The only places where Humans are rather uncommon, are southern Izril and the Isles of Minos. == Common Tendencies == Humans of Innworld have a strong tendency to form Nobility to rule their kind. Terandria, Rhir and Chandrar are well-known for their Human Kingdoms while Baleros and Southern Izril don't have such tendencies. Humans of Northern Izril tend to settle outside of cities, sometimes in suburbs outside of city walls, and seek shelter inside the walls once that becomes necessary. This approach is vastly different from Drakes, who don't settle outside of walls. According to the other species, like Centaurs, Lizardfolk, and Dullahans, Humans have an obsession with climbing things. They see a mountain and they want to climb it. === Crime === Humans have a reputation among other races to have stronger criminal tendencies. Especially among Drakes and Gnolls they are easily associated with common theft, which may stem from the cultural memory of the Humans stealing Northern Izril from them. Predominantly, Human cities have less effective [Guards] than Drake cities. Apprehending criminals of higher levels is a job given to Adventurers instead of City Watches which are generally of lower level and not seeking out conflict. === Sex Drive === It is well-known among most races, that Humans are not always averse to breeding with other races, which is facilitated by fertility magic and potions. The result of those dalliances may result in Half-Trolls or Half-Giants, but also in Humans that have Scales (interbreeding with Lizardfolk or Drakes). Given that all other races also enjoy inter-species marriages and mixed children, the tendency of Humans to "mate with everything" may be overstated, especially since some Humans don't entertain the thought of having sex with other species. So far, the exact relation of Centaurs, Fraerlings, Minotaurs and Beastkin to the Human race have not been revealed. Given that all these races share humanoid attributes, they may originate from magically altered Humans. Interbreeding with Half-Elves and Goblins will not result in half-Human hybrids, but in pure Half-Elves and Goblins respectively. The reason for this is still unknown. Conversely, all known [Nobles] of Terandria participate in a breeding program that results in bright (e.g. red, green, blue, and blonde) hair colors, which is how pureblood Humans are easy to recognize. == Trivia == * Half-Elves objects to the term ‘humanoid’, because they say that Humans copied Elves. * Humans are one of the original races that immigrated to Innworld in its inception. * There used to be a God of Humanity named Vionte. == References == <references />
