The Lantern Lands are a region with magical mists that occasionally blow in. These mists are considered very dangerous, conjuring images of people associated with the travellers' wrongdoings, past regrets, and guilt, which will proceed to attack. The danger grows with the person's level, but the mist apparitions are unable to exceed the limits of high Level 30s in power; meanwhile, children are able to wander in and survive. The [[monsters]] called [[Scalelings|Children]] originated from those mists, and will attack alongside the apparitions.<ref name=":0">[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/09/12/9-58-o/ Chapter 9.58 O]</ref>
