Lucifen are an Immortal, Classless, Devil-like species, living in Innworld. == Physiology == ===<u>Appearance</u>=== Their true form has yet to be completely shown, but it is known that they have a humanoid appearance, with grey skin, a pair of fairly tall horns curving up from the forehead, bright orange-yellow or glittered red eyes with perfectly square pupils, noticeably sharp teeth, a tailโof a kind, clawed? hands and feet, and have wings. They also smell like forgefire (not quite like brimstone as it smells terrible, but like fire and metal), and cast no shadow, even under spotlight. ===<u>Physical Qualities</u>=== ====Strength==== They have demonstrated incredible strength, that seems to be on par with a perfectly healthy Vampire. ====Lifespan==== They have no lifespan as they are immortal. ====Diet==== While they can enjoy foods and drinks of all kinds, they don't get any sustenance from them as they can only eat one thing and that is people. They eat their flesh and bones, and can eat it from Humans or half-Elves or Dwarves or any other species, but they only need to consume just one person once a month. It is unknown exactly why they have to only sustenance themselves this way but it is believed to have something to do with the nature of people. ===<u>Magical Qualities</u>=== They have shown to have a naturally inclined towards magic, being able to cast teleportation and complex illusions with ease, and they possess a large mana supply. They've perfected a tier 6 killing spell called [Midnight Shard]. ====Darkness and Fire Magic==== They have strong, innate affinity and talent for Darkness and Fire magic. ===<u>Special Abilities</u>=== ==== Infernal Pact==== While it is not exactly explained how it works the Lucifen can make a deals with others by giving them something that they wanted without taking from them, and in exchange they would gain connections that will make their power grow by the deals they make, be it grand acts and small, as their power is not from what they take or give, but only the magnitude of it. ==== Verum Pactum ==== Through a ritual dance, a non-Lucifen can enter into an Infernal pact with a Lucifen. Both parties are summoned to an other-dimensional room called the Verum Pactum while time is stopped. The room compels fair answers from the occupants, and blocks spells and possibly Skills as well. The contractor makes a request to the Lucifen, and the room calculates the counterbalance of the offer with a scale, and summon additional scales for seperate deals. The room will also threaten to punish any attempts to enforce annuled contracts. When the contract is sealed, the contractee trades a part of their soul to the Lucifen, and a link is established between them, empowering them both. The Lucifen must fulfill the pact, and failure to do so annuls it and the contractee regains the piece of their soul. ==== Soul Link ==== The powers of the Lucifen is founded on Authority, a quantative force for them, and Lucifen seek mortal souls to gain more of it. The abilities confered from gaining another's soul are as of yet unknown, as are what it grants to the contractee, though it influences them and lets them access more powers of the Lucifen, and share it. Those powers are accessible while the contractee lives, and disappears if they die. The Lucifen can sense the status and feelings of the person they are linked to. ====Lesser Magic Resistance==== They are immune to Tier 1-2 Spells. ==== Gate-Walking ==== Lucifen can create gates to a dimension only they can navigate. It's a realm of blackness with a road that must not been strayed from. There is a down direction within and it is possible to fall. The realm is finite, a landmass about half the size of Ailendamus. It contains labyrinths, battlegrounds and more. It can be used to travel, effectively allowing Lucifen to teleport through protals. It needs to be anchored to a point in reality. ====Warform ==== Lucifen can activate a Warform, which will change their bodies, heal damage they've sustained, and empower them. However, it cannot be maintained for an extended period of time. Lucifen Warforms have unique appearances and can change when empowered by an Infernal Pact. More great powers of the Lucifen are said to start at the Warform. The Warform can be empowered by an Infernal Pact. ===<u>Weaknesses</u>=== ====Light==== They are weak to light (Sunlight or Light Magic?). ==== ??? Magic==== They are also weak to a certain chaotic subset of magic. ====Classless ==== They were excluded from the Trials of Levelling, thus being unable to obtain Classes/Levels and Skills. ==Behavior and Culture== Lucifen do not feel strong emotions and lack empathy. Despite how dispassionate they are, they are highly moral in their own way. They are quite intelligent. They feel the closest thing they can to joy in the proper administration of law. Seeing a system they've laid out function without issue or resolving a problem within it is pleasing to them. They hide themselves from those searching for them with the Library of Infernus, which has tomes that block searching spells. It also houses their historical records. In their paranoia, even against their own kind, they know wide-reaching spells, and teach their children deadly spells for self-defense. All Lucifen know how to cast a tier 6 mage-killer spell. The Lucifen have a traditional convocation that used to be held every century. The head or heads of the Lucifen would speak their will to be debated or challenged by the others, and informed their peopleโs deeds. It was also used to gauge the maturity of their younger members, if they are considered 'worthy' of hearing the speech, which could lead to being granted full autonomy. Failure to at least put up a front could mean years of oversight and critique on their actions. They shared this tradition with the Agelum after they left Rhir. after they were decimated by Curulac, it was held every decade instead, and done separately from the Agelum. ==History== Lucifen were meant to be the caretakers of Hellste, from where they derived their authority. Because every Goblin in history were sent to Hellste, they took over Hellste, and the Lucifen have largely joined them. They were also excluded from the Trials of Levelling from the start. In the past, the Lucifen hunted in a sadistic glee, mortals to eat them. They also struck mighty deals and gained power by suffering. They walked among Dragons and made deals with Giants and great immortals. They were referred to as The Infernal Court. It rarely turned out well when they ruled a nation. But in time, they dwindled. And the very small people, the people who cry for each other, who care and suffer and live lives like candle flames, covered every land. In an era before the Creler Wars, they used to be the guardians of Rhir, but became so corrupt that they were exiled from the continent ten thousand years ago. They were said to have been destroyed both internally and externally. Cormelex destroyed some of the records of their downfall. Afterwards, they lived across the world and hid among the mortals, disguising themselves as Humans, half-Elves, and Beastkin. They were driven from Baleros by the Nagas using the Eyes of Baleros, from Izril by the Vampires, and from Chandrar by the tyrant Nerrhavia, leaving only Terandria as a refuge for their species. Some information about the Lucifen has been erased so thoroughly that there are safeguards which will kill those that learn the wrong information about them. They had made it through the Creler Wars without great difficulty, adapting quickly to the Crelers being resistant to their magic. However, they lost many of their numbers to the Goblin King Curulac, who was hunting them down. This prompted them to make peace and unite with the Agelum, who had also been massacred by Curulac. Every Lucifen who was alive during the Creler Wars had been slain, and they were so reduced that they could no longer call themselves The Infernal Court. Eventually, they approached Ailendamus and joined the nation as House Shoel, though as allies with demands, not as supplicants. ==Relations== ===Agelum=== Agelum and Lucifen were once mortal enemies. However the number of deaths suffered during the rampage of Curulac caused them to unite as one house. As of the present-day, Lucifen have a close relationship with the Agelum, as they refer to each other as cousins and help each other, even live together as one family. === Demons === Demons have apparently attempted to destroy the Lucifen in the past. === Goblins === Historically, the Lucifen have been enemies with the Goblins, notably when Curulac of a Hundred Days killed many of their number. Greydath claimed that Curulac had specifically targeted the Lucifen and Agelum, calling them the "servants of our foes." While the Lucifen were the original owners of Hellste, the few in that realm have stepped aside to let the Goblins take over, being outnumbered by them. They were described to be "either sulking or looking pleased." ==Known Members == *Visophecin - First of Law *Paxere *Azemith *Igolze *Vultapheles *Shierxun *Theadrix *Oelvix *Degelen *Cormelex (Deceased) ==Trivia== *The leader of The Infernal Court is referred to as the First of Law. *House Shoel has at least forty fully adult Lucifen. This number has decreased after the Night of Bloodtear. *The Pavilion of Secrets did not work on them due to their nature as levelless people, until Cormellex raised an objection against this. ==References== <references />
